Chapter 1 – The First Day ‎Ella stepped out of the taxi, clutching her suitcase with a mix of fear and determination. The grand mansion before her was everything she had imagined: towering gates, perfectly manicured lawns and golden,shiny staircases and doors without flaws. It was a world away from her small , modest apartment, the one she could barely afford on her waitress salary ‎The door swung open as if on cue, revealing a tall, handsome and stern-looking man in a dark suit. His piercing eyes scanned her from head to toe.He was the man she had only heard about in whispers-The billionaire who lived behind the high gates , the man whose reputation was as large as his fortune -Xander Anderson. ‎He stood with arms folded ,a slight frown curving his lips. His tailored suits looked like it belonged on a runaway,not in a mansion “You must be Ella,” he said, his voice firm and cold. “Get inside. And drop your bag in the foyer.” ‎Ella stood frozen for a moment, slightly offended by his arrogance. She had expected him to at least greet her politely, but instead, he treated her like a servant to be ordered around. ‎“Right away, sir,” she muttered, forcing herself to remain calm."You are here to work and not to socialize" He added , his tone condescending. ‎She clenched her jaw but said nothing as she followed him inside. It was only her first day, and already she was regretting the decision to accept this job. But it was too late to turn back now. She needed this opportunity, no matter how difficult her employer seemed. ‎Xander led her upstairs into a large, white room painted in soft blue, with a queen-sized bed, a dresser, a table, and a mirror above it.This was far better than her apartment. ‎“This will be your room, henceforth,” Xander said, leaving Ella to her thoughts. ‎She dropped her bag and sat on the bed, letting out a long sigh.She slumped on the bed and was about to sleep when she heard her stomach rumble. ‎A little bit of courtesy wouldn't hurt, right ? Determined not to let a her frustration show, she knocked lightly on Xander's room then stepped back. The door opened a c***k , revealing Xander's irritated face " Can I ..... Can I have something to eat" She asked carefully, feeling embarrassed by how needy it sounded. "Are you serious?" He snapped, stepping forward into the hallway. ‎“You think you’re here to lounge around and enjoy luxury?” Xander said sharply. “You’re here to work. Start earning your stay.” His harsh words was sharp , his tone cutting through the air like a whip. Ella flinched , caught off guard by the sudden harshness.She stood frozen , her mouth going dry . Straightening her back , she nodded once and forced herself to speak ‎“I understand,Mr Anderson” she replied calmly. ‎Xander didn’t respond,as he stalked down the hallway. ‎As the silence stretched between them, Ella realized this job would be far more challenging than she had imagined. But deep down, she knew she had to endure it—for now. ‎
