Chapter 19

AROURA

I walked Dominic outside to see him off, Jace and Carly were waiting outside as well. Jace was in wolf form, I’m guessing he’s going with Dom to ale sure he’s safe crossing the boarders and as back up.

Dom wrapped his giant paw around me and pulled me in for a hug

*Ill be back as soon as I can, you can link me if you need anything ok? And please don’t do anything stupid.*

I smiled

“I’ll try my best.”

He leaned his head down and licked my face.

Carly hugged and kissed, I can’t tell they talking though their mate link.

Dom walked over to Jace and nodded, Carly walked over to me and wrapped her arm around mine.

Dom and Jace threw their heads back releasing a howl letting the pack know they were leaving, we heard howls from the distance responding back.

Then they disappeared in the forest.

Carly sighed

“Well I have to go train the troops if you’d like to come and watch.”

I shrugged

“Not like I have anything better to do.”

We walked over the the training field on the east side of the castle, there were a group of young adults stretching and fooling around.

Carly whistled

They respond, quickly lining up and standing straight with their hands behind their backs.

“You guys have be hand chosen by the Alpha King to fight in an upcoming battle. I’m not going to lie, some of you may not make it but I can promise you that I will do whatever I can to keep you alive or end it quickly if need be. You have been chosen because you are strong, intelligent, quick, and unmated.”

I looked at them, they were all men besides one woman, she had a black pixie hair spiked up. She was fairly muscular for a woman but very beautiful like a model.

The troops turned to look at me and all bowed

“Luna.”

They said in unison.

I nodded my head and they stood, Carly jumped right in to training. They started out running to warm up then basic attacks and defense, then more aggressive maneuvers. The woman was very strong throwing the men on their backs like they were sacks of potatoes.

They took a water break I walked over to her

“What’s your name?”

She bowed

“Maddie my Luna.”

I nodded

“If you don’t mind me asking, why did the Alpha pick you? The only female, don’t you have a mate or want to find a mate?”

She chuckled

“Um it will be impossible for me to find a mate, it’s a long complicated story.”

I smiled

“I’m a fox with a wolf mate pregnant with a hybrid baby, it can’t be more complicated then that.”

She laughed

“True, well I’m attracted to woman. I’m gay, and it’s physically impossible to mate with the same s*x, I did find a mate but rejected it. It’s unheard of for a hybrid to be attracted to the same s*x, I was bullied when I was little and instead of cry and acting like a baby I trained to be stronger then my bullies and anyone else who tried to challenge me. The Alpha was the only one who seemed to understand and accept me for who I am, he asked me if I wanted to join the army, so I accepted and here I am.”

I nodded

“I understand all to well what it’s like to feel alone and different, I too embraced it and used it to better myself. I respect you and thank you for fighting this fight, I feel a lot better knowing my mate has you by his side.”

She smile and bowed, Carly whistled for the troop to continue their training.

I watch was they practiced, they were very strong .

Carly looked at her watch

“OK TROOPS TIME FOR LUNCH, GO EAT AND MEET BACK IN AN HOUR!”

They all left, we head back to the castle where our lunch was ready for us.

DOMINIC

It felt good to just run, my paws digging into the earth smelling the freshness of the trees. I loved being in wolf form, it’s freeing.

*Want to stop for a quick lunch and water break Boss.*

I nodded we came to a stop at a clearing with a river, we listened for anything in the area.

It was clear, I shifted.

The backpack slipped off my body since Aroura adjusted it to fit my giant wolf body, I unzipped the bag and was hit with the scent of frost and sweet berries.

I pulled out a little white scarf, I held it up to my nose and smiled.

“Should I leave to give you and the scarf some alone time or can I have a sandwich.”

Jace said trying not to laugh.

I laughed and threw him a bag with a ham and cheese sandwich, chips and a water.

It’s only been a few hours and I already miss Aroura terribly, but the scarf is helping, I bet that’s why she packed it.

We ate our food and rest for a minute, I shifted back and Jace helped put the bag back on me then shifted. We continued running, we were coming close to the mountains, I can feel the air pressure and temperature change.

We came to the boarder when Jace and I halted to a stop, we felt the air shift and smell sour. We looked to the sky and saw black smoke fill the air above the trees, we ran. Smoke started filling the forest we finally entered the town only to find it engulfed in black flames like the ones in my dream.

*Shia*

I growled anger filled my body, Jace bowed down exposing his neck. I looked over and felt bad, I hated using my Alpha power on people. I try to avoid forcing people to submit to me against their will.

I calmed down

*Sorry, I didn’t mean to*

He stood up right and looked at me

*Its ok, you have the right to be pissed off, what happened?*

We looked around, everything was on fire but the fire was black.

*Looks like Shia and the witches beat us to the bears, let’s see if anyone made it. Hopefully most of them fled.*

We walked around trying to find any signs of life or evidence most of the fled, nothing. We found nothing, not even body’s, a little glimmer of hope that they were able to flee.

That’s when we saw it, a pile of body’s in the middle of town. Men, women and even children. They were covered in black ooze looking like life was sucked out of them.

As I was looking over the body I froze on one, a baby. My heart sank and tears filled my eyes, Jace saw it and started to throw up.

*Those sick bitches*

I closed my eyes

*Lets head back, I have to figure out a new way to kill Shia and the witches.”

We started to run back home with heavy hearts, the image of the dead baby was burned into my brain.

AROURA

I’m walking around the forest, it’s covered black ooze with a sour smell in the air. I come to a clearing, I see a group of people standing still in the middle, they seemed to be huddled around something. I get closer it’s Carly, Jace, Maddie, someone I don’t know and Dom, they were frozen. The person I didn’t know had blood all over them, they were handing a b****y baby to Dom with tears in his eyes. Jace was hold Carly who was looked like she was screaming, and Maddie was helping Dom support the baby. There was a body with its abdomen ripped open laying in the middle of everyone, I got closer to see who it was. Then I felt sick to my stomach and couldn’t breathe, it was me.

I heard an evils chuckled behind me, I turn and see Shia.

She grabbed me by my throat

“Soon you little b***h, soon.”

She tightened her grip, I couldn’t breath. I tried clawing at her hand.

I jumped up from my be hyperventilating screaming, covered in sweat.

“It’s ok little fox, it was a dream. Your ok.”

Dr. Mendoza as sitting by my bed holding me, petting my head.

I gasped

“No it wasn’t, I was dead.”

I told her about what I saw, I can feel where Shia had her hand around my throat.

“Ssshhh, it’s ok. Dominic will be back with the bears, it’s going to be ok little fox.”

I nodded, she was trying to convince me it was just a dream but I knew it wants a dream, it was a prediction.
