Selene's POV
I didn't have time to wait.
Before, everything had happened too fast or without control. I reacted, adjusted, tried to keep up with something I didn't understand. Now I knew better to stop hesitating.
Adrian was in the room when I made up my mind and didn't stop me.
If he thought I couldn't handle it, he would have stepped in. If he thought it was dangerous in a way I couldn't control, he would have interfered.
So I didn't hold back.
I stepped into the center of the room and brought my shoulders down before I closed my eyes. The space around me didn't matter. The walls, the distance, even Adrian's presence—all of it faded the moment I focused.
I didn't reach for Gavin which had been an obvious mistake before. I had followed the connection instead of test
