CHAPTER 20

1151 Words

Selene's POV It didn't stop. That was the first thing I realized. Whatever had shifted after the court, after the training, after everything that had been seen and said—it didn't fade. It didn't settle. It stayed like something had marked me, and now the entire place knew where to look. I noticed him before I saw him. My steps slowed slightly—nothing obvious, just enough—and when I looked up, he was already there. Adrian. There was nothing obvious about it. No tension in his posture, no demand in his stance. He stood like he always did—still, composed, untouched by everything around him. But his attention wasn't general anymore. It was directly on me. I kept walking. Because stopping would mean acknowledging it, and I wasn't ready to give him that yet.
