Selene's POV
I took notice of him before he spoke.
Not because he made a sound.
Because I had stopped ignoring things like that.
It wasn't a big shift. Nothing dramatic. But since earlier, I had been more aware of what was happening around me, not just reacting after it already started. It was small, but it was there.
"Walking around like that will get you into trouble."
His voice came from my side, calmly, like he had been there longer than I realized.
