Avyana Celestine Adelinda POV (12 years later) I woke up from the sound of the roosters, it was already morning and I needed to get up. I sat on my bed and I looked at the window. I am right, the sun has already risen. I smiled as the light of the sun kissed my skin. “Celestine?” I heard my Mom’s voice outside of my room. I stood up and I walked towards the door. I opened it and I saw my Mom in front. “Didn’t I told you to stop making spells? That’s dangerous, you’re just seventeen years old and you are not allowed to do so because it is dangerous. Look at what happened to our treehouse that I built for you,” Mom said and I bent my head forward. I know what I did and I know that it was wrong. I didn’t also think that making spells and casting spells is addicting, I want to research more of it but I hope this time my Mom will never see me again doing it. I didn’t answer her because I know my mistake. The only thing I have to say is ‘sorry’ and that’s it. But no matter how I say sorry, I will still do it, so I think me saying ‘sorry’ to her would just be useless. “Mom, I’m already eighteen. You don’t have to worry about it,” I said. I walked bounding to the kitchen. I saw two sliced of bread and a bowl of peanut butter on the table. I smiled as the hunger aroused. “Hmm, is this for breakfast?” I asked my Mom. I looked at her and she was in the living room, sewing a piece of cloth. I wanted to ask her about the purpose of the cloth but never mind. “Avyana, don’t do it again, okay? Listen to me,” she said calmly. “I’m sorry, Mom.” “You’re forgiven.” I decided to sit on the chair of the table. I eat the bread alone as I hate peanut butter. For me, it smells bad and I don’t like the taste of it. The thing that I like the most is chocolates, but I know tasting chocolates will only happen in my dream. Chocolates are expensive and I can only buy that at the human’s place. I cannot go to the human’s place; I am not allowed to go there. It’s upsetting me but I don’t have any choice. “Mom, when are you going to fix the house?” I asked her. I saw my Mom walking towards the kitchen sink. “That’s just easy to do,” she said. Our house is themed in black, from the outside and inside. The things inside the house were all white except for our clothes. I don’t know if these are my Mom’s favorite color or she is just minimalistic. Seeing these dull colors every day makes me sick. “Mom, what I mean is changing the color of this house and also the furniture. And the white kitchen utensils. Look how dull these colors are,” I said. I saw my Mom holding her black wand with a sapphire stone in the middle. She smiled at me. “The water is ready, look at your table,” she said. I immediately looked at the table and I saw a white cup with water inside. I drank it. “Thank you, Mom.” She was changing the topic again. “Your welcome, dear.” After eating, I decided to go out of the house and roam around the dark forest. I wanted to harvest some tulips for my birthday. “Mom, I want to take some tulips in the forest,” I said. “Okay, take care, honey.” She sat on the chair beside me and she ate the peanut butter. “Of course, Mom.” I walked out of the dining table and I went to the basement. I took a basket made from the dry skin of a tree. I hold it with my left hand, I used my right hand to open the door to the living room. I looked at my Mom for the second time, to bid her goodbye. “Goodbye, Mom. I am going now.” I walked out of my house. As I was walking towards the black gate of our house, I saw my friends. The friends who bullied me when I was young. I still remember their names. They were Brandon and Elsa. They were walking past me. “What a bad day,” I heard Elsa said. I move my head forward as I don’t want to see their faces, it makes me curse them but I know I cannot do that. I am not allowed to curse anyone. Minutes had passed and they already left me. I opened the gate and I walked towards the forest. The forest was near our house. As I was inside the dark forest, I roamed my eyes around. The forest has different kinds of enormous old trees. The sun’s rays cannot pass through from those big and healthy leaves of the trees; the reason this place is called Dark Forest. I decided to walk slowly to wander from the beauty of the trees until I arrived at the tulips. The tulips were naturally growing beside a tall, big and dark tree. I took different kinds of colors of tulips, there were pink, black, yellow, orange, and white tulips. I stopped as soon as I saw that my basket was already full. “I think I should go home now,” I said. I talk a deep breath first because of the exhaustion. And after that, I started walking back to the village. This place is far away from our place, however, I can still manage to come home. This is not my first time here. I looked at my basket with a smile on my face. My mom didn’t know that today is my birthday, I don’t want her to know too because she will invite all of them. I don’t want that to happen. As I was walking, I suddenly saw a white horse running in front of me. I looked at it as it ran towards the left side of the forest. “Horsey, wait!” I heard a man’s voice on my right side. I looked at it and I saw a blonde long hair of a man. “He must be a human,” I whispered to myself. I remembered the words that my grandmother said. I decided to run, afraid of being caught by a human.
