Chapter 6

Avyana Celestine Adelinda POV

Hours had passed and it was already time to sleep.

I took a bath in my bathroom first before going to bed. After I took a bath, I wore a long black dress with a black soft cotton blazer that I made. I comb my curly hair as well so that it could grow longer. My black and curly hair was leveled on my butt. I feel so happy seeing my healthy hair this beautiful.

As soon as I was done, I immediately sat on my bed. I roamed my eyes around my bed; I have purple curtains, table, and my room is themed with white walls.

The window is in front of my bed.

I laid down on my bed, I decided to get some rest now because today is my birthday. I should get all the sleep that I missed because of sneaking out of my house.

As I was closing my eyes trying to sleep peacefully, I suddenly remembered the man in the forest that I left alone. I opened my eyes and I looked at the ceiling.

“He must be in cold right now. It’s almost winter though.”

I tried to smile even though I feel worried about him.

“I hope he is okay.”

I shook my head because my body wants to go out of the house. I can’t do that or else my Mom will notice me.

“What should I do? If I go out to the forest, would I find another spell?” I asked myself while I was thinking.

If I go out, I’ll probably find some fascinating things and if I don’t I’ll probably miss that chance.

I took a deep breath. Making decisions is hard because you will never know the consequences you will get.

“Avyana?” I heard my Mom’s voice and footsteps outside my room.

I looked at the door.

“Yes, Mom? I’m going to sleep now.” I put my blanket on me and I closed my eyes. I should just sleep instead of going out. That’s my final decision.

“That’s right, you have to sleep. I’m going to sleep as well, good night,” she said.

“Good night, Mom.”

I heard her footsteps as she walked out in front of the door.

I closed my eyes to sleep. I’ve tried many positions just to help me sleep, however, the sleeping spirit didn’t visit me.

I opened my eyes and I walked out of the bed.

I walked towards the two-lite slider window and I opened it.

I looked at the full moon in the sky, it was so beautiful. There were also stars shining against the dark and creepy night. Why do I describe it as creepy? Because during these hours, only the monsters are roaming around the forest hunting and waiting to devour anyone that could go near them. Those monsters are just hiding in every corner of the forest and the food that they like the most are humans.

“That’s good that he has a little bit of light against the darkness of this night. I hope he is just okay being chased by the soil monsters. Why does he have to go to this kind of place instead of going and buying chocolates in the human’s town?”

I took a deep breath before I drain my power again.

“Silēre avis.”

My human form started to change into the feathers of the crows until the small crows flew around my room.

“Ugh, this form is kind of a mess,” I said.

I flew out of my room. I have to find some spells before I drain my body.

As I was flying, I suddenly remembered the human. I don’t need to save him at all. Humans can even judge us for being different, they are strong by forcing the witches and wizards to go out of their world. So, I think, he can also do that to the solūm mōnstrum.

As usual, my powers started to drain again. I felt so weak because of my form. I decided to rest on the tree. I changed into my human form.

I looked around me, however, I couldn’t see anything because it was so dark. The leaves of the trees were so healthy that even the small light of the moon cannot pass through.

I took my wand from my hair. My wand can disguise as my hair. I have put a special power on my wand so that it wouldn’t be hard to take it and I would not forget it.

My black wand is very special because I put a small amount of my blood inside a small circular glass that was in the middle part of my wand. Now, I have two kinds of powers that no one knows, thanks to my research.

I smiled as I looked at my wand. The blood that was inside a glass in the middle of my wand was lighting with its red color.

“Incendere ignis,” I said and a fire was on top of my wand. Now my wand is my torch.

I started walking again while I am searching for an old book or even a flower. Some flowers can grant spells or even powers. However, I think no one knows that except me in my village.

As I was walking inside the forest, I heard loud footsteps from my left side. I looked at my left side and I saw a man running with his eyes in tears. His shirt and pants were full of mud and he was looking so scared. I couldn’t stop myself from staring at him. From his hair to his face, he looked so pretty. This is my first time seeing a real human. I thought they could also look like a monster but I was mistaken. Even if he was scared, his body and face didn’t change. Not the same as ours.

The man didn’t notice me because he was looking at the monster behind him, while I didn’t notice that he was running towards me. I just realized that as we bumped at each other.

My body fell to the ground and the man was on top of me. Our…our body was so closed at each other and even our faces.

I stared at him while he was hugging me tightly.

“Please, save me. I will do anything that you want. Just please save me,” he said, almost begging.

I felt his sweat and tears on my cleavage.

I slowly realized that I’ve been caught. Should I save him or should I save my clan first?
