Chapter 2: friends

Reyna was alone in the house as Jade and Nana had gone partying for the weekend…Jade had tried hard to make Reyna join them but she had stubbornly refused so Jade gave up and left for the party without her.

Reyna was still up doing her assignment when she got a call from jade's cell phone but instead of jade's voice,it was a masculine strang voice .

Who is this please???...Reyna asked curiously .

"Oh!!! Jade said to call you…she's actually very drunk and wasted…I need you to come pick her up from the club".

"Who are you and why did she give you her phone?"

"I'm a kind, gentleman…and I just wanted to help a damsel in distress".

"Where can I come and pick her?"Reyna asked.

"Actually there are two ladies here together"!

Reyna immediately remembers that Nana was with Jade and half whispered an “okay".

"We are at Moonlight lounge..see you soon"!! The stranger hangs up .

Reyna reluctantly drags herself up and got dressed .

Moments later

Reyna was alighting a taxi in the front moonlight lounge,she exhales and frowns deeply as half naked girls exit the lounge with different guys.

Reyna had a strong urge to return home that minute but she knew she couldn't leave her friends here drunk cause there are alot of bad things that could happen to them.

She wondered why they would be careless enough to get drunk at a place like this !!

Slowly and reluctantly Reyna dragged her feet into the lounge, blue lights ,loud music and noises, sweaty people dancing and some making out as Reyna scanned through the lounge with her eyes in disgust.

This was the last place on earth she wanted to be at this time of the night but she needed to first of all get her drunk friends out of here before she leaves.

Reyna takes out her phone and redialed jade's cell but it wasn't going through

She decided to go outside the lounge and try the number again, but when she did a strange guy snatched the phone from her hand and ran across the street to a dark alley.

She was about to run after him when someone grabbed her hand gently .

Reyna looked up to find Liam's dark brown eyes staring at her softly,she glared at him angrily.

"What in God's name do you think you're doing ,huh?...that thief just snatched my phone!!"

"And you think running after a thief into a dark alley is safe?" Liam raised a brow "what if he is armed?"

"Let me go!!!"Reyna spat angrily as she freed herself from his hold.

"I'm sorry for holding your hand without your consent"Liam apologized

Reyna hissed and was about to go back into the lounge.

"You didn't really seem like a party person to me,"Liam said.

"You didn't really seem to me like you don't know how to mind your business"Reyna smirks.

"Hahaha…one minute she's nice and the next she's savage, I like the switch…Liam said.

"I don't give a flying ice cream if you do!" Reyna said "I just want to leave this hell of a place".

"Then what are you doing here???"

"Still not minding your business??" Reyna rolled her eyes.

"I just want to help you miss salty" Liam smiled.

"Don't call me that!!!"

"Okay miss salty" Liam turns to leave but Reyna was quick to stop him as she realized that he could be of help since she no longer had her cell phone to help her call Jade.

"Hey!!" Reyna stops him and walks up to him. "Please can I borrow your phone?" she asked nervously.

"Sure!" Liam pulled out his phone from his pocket and gave it to her.

"Thank you"Reyna tried calling jade again but it still wasn't going through she signed frustratedly and gives the phone back to Liam "thank you"

"You're welcome….are you okay???"

"Yeah I'm fine..I just got two crazy roommates that stress my life" Liam chuckles.

"It's not funny" Reyna glares at him.

"Firstly you're cute when you're angry" Liam chuckles. Secondly you need to chill. I'll help you find them.

Really??...but why would you huh?? have been nothing but rude to you since I saw you".

"Let's just say I'm in a good mood…except you don't need help"Liam said daringly with a smug look.

"Please I do!"she replied.

"Okay! then come with me"

Liam and Reyna found Jade and Nana soon after a short search and Liam took them home in his car.

Reyna wanted to refuse but she knew getting a taxi around that time was going to be hard so she just agreed and thanked Liam after he helped her take Jade and Nana to their apartment.

"Thank you so much for today,"Reyna said sincerely.

"You're welcome" Liam smiles…"I don't even know your name"

"Ohhh my name is Reyna Amore," she smiles.

"Liam Cheng" he reaches for her hand and kisses the back of her palm." Encantado de conocerte hermosa"

(Translation:nice to meet you beautiful)

"What was that?". Reyna's smile fades and is replaced with a frown and Liam chuckles.

"Just Spanish" Liam shrugged playfully

"you speak Spanish!".

Liam smiles proudly"yeah , Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, Tamil,Latin and English ..seven languages!".

"Now what?.... You feel like a language alpha??.. shrugged annoyingly.

Haha!! language alpha?? I haven't heard that before!..is that even a thing you made up??

Reyna laughs

"You should laugh more often, you look better than when you frown"Liam said"you have a melodious sweet laughter".

"I feel flattered.. being complimented by the language alpha"Reyna joked and Liam laughed.

"Okay, it was nice talking to you but I gotta go to bed now Liam..I have early morning lectures tomorrow" Reyna said.

"Okay darling I'll leave now" Liam said "good night".

"Good night" Reyna weaved at him and closed the door before retiring to her bed
