MINA'S DILEMMA

Good morning Miss, you will be late for work, yawning and tossing in my bed I heard Alice knocking on my door, actually I know am going to be late for work but I can’t help it that why I knock down my alarm not too long ago, ooh I wish I can call in sick this morning, am not feeling too well, but then I have an important meeting to attend, omg talking about meetings I can’t be late for that,…… Miss can I come in I heard Alice at the door breaking my train of thought. Yes come in, removing the duvet, I saw Alice coming in with my usual cup of coffee, good morning Miss, morning Alice, thanks for the coffee, put it on the table I will take it after I freshen up. After you freshen up, that’s a first Miss you always love your coffee in bed, actually Alice I don’t feel like taking coffee this morning. What! Why, are you okay, you said coffee help start your da…..y, wait sit back down miss, am going to feel your temperature you seem to have a fever. No Alice thank you, I appreciate your concern but am fine, no you are not how can you be sweating in this conditioning room, am not having that you are…… Alice keeps ranting while placing her right hand on my forehead and the left on hers, omg Mee you are burning up, you know what freshen up and I will inform your Doctor that you are coming in, let me tell your driver to get ready…… Alice is always like this all talking and not given me space to say mine. Alice this is what is going to happen, am going in there to freshen up and am rushing down to the office to attend an important meeting okay, I said moving towards the bathroom. No Mee you are not doing that am going to inform Evelyn now and tell her to help you call in sick and then you are going to the hospital. While Alice and I were arguing on not going to the hospital, my phone rang, and it my Dad, good morning daddy, Mina I hope you know what the consequence will be if you do not attend this meeting, do you even realize how important this is for the company, I hope you know the outcome for you if we loose this contract, I give you thirty minutes to get yourself here otherwise you will have yourself to blame, my dad keeps shouting at the other end, okay sir, I am already on my way, better he said ending the call. It took me less than 15minutes to dress up, moving my sick ass to the front of the house I saw Lawrence my driver already waiting for me. Good morning ma’am, good morning Lawrence, Alice said you are going to visit your doctor, no Lawrence am off to the company and I hope you can get me there in fifteen minutes, sure ma’am but not without breaking the traffic law he said giving me his wildest smile, am okay with that, shall we? Yes ma’am Everybody taught my life is perfect, of course it should be I mean am the first daughter of the one and only Bernard of Bernard corporation, one of the largest company in the whole of New York City. People think I have everything at my beck and call, wardrobe full of designer wears, flocks of cars, shopping spree whenever I want, a holiday trip to anywhere in the world. But I don’t know why even those that observe me up close do not know that I ride just a one car everyday of my life, and it my mom’s, yeah don’t look at me that way, it the truth, news flash I do not own my own car, neither do I get a break from work less going for a holiday trip, and here I am going for a meeting with a tsunami of fever brewing in me.
