The Abused Mate

Chapter 10

Damon’s POV:

One minute, I saw everything flash before my eyes. My life, my mate, what would become if I died right now? I was sure my life was about to end. I looked to Anna one last time before my body gave out after one final punch. I looked up and I could still see her and she looked angry. My eyes kept closing, but I awoke when I heard a scream.

Anna had her hands to her sides and her hands open and she let out the loudest yell I’ve ever heard. The rogues stopped dead in their tracks. What was she doing? It was like she was holding them there against their will.

Her eyes were black and I could tell Nova was in control. She was mad her mate was hurt. Matt and Elijah had woken up, Ruby was still unconscious. We all watched in shock as she held them there, squirming in pain.

She had an evil grin and I heard Ruby wake up and gasp.

“What is she doing?!” Ruby yelled.

“Taking care of our problem.” I beamed. I was proud, even though it seemed twisted.

She approached the men on the ground and smiled. She c****d her head and they both fell straight to the ground. She broke both of their necks with a thought and motion. Looks like she has discovered another gift.

We all stood and looked at her, waiting for Anna to get control back. A minute went by and her eyes turned back to normal. She looked at the bodies on the ground then at us.

She looked scared of herself and I wanted to comfort her, but it was short lived because I saw her grow weak. All of that must of drained her. I managed to catch her as she fell.

“Call the doctor now. I’ll meet you at the house.” I turned away and calmly walked back home.

Unknown POV:

I watched in awe as Anna killed our men. I know Jake wanted his sister dead, but I kind of wanted her for myself. She had powers, more then one at that. I could use that to my advantage, but I respect the mate bond. Jake is so far up his mates ass that he doesn’t bother doing anything except throwing around orders. I won’t let him kill her, but I won’t help her kill anymore men.

Damon’s POV:

I got Anna back to the pack house and waited for Dr. Kristen to come. I don’t do anything but pacing back and forth, looking between Anna and the door. It felt like an eternity before the doctor finally came in.

“Dr. Kristen, Anna seems to have extraordinary powers. But they drain her. If it wasn’t for her, my family and I might very well be dead.” I said.

She contemplated for a minute then a bulb went off in her head.

“Alpha, may I take some of your blood?” She asked.

I was confused, “May I ask why?”

“I just have a gut feeling she needs to be bonded to you because you haven’t marked her yet. The mating bond has not fully completed and if she’s exerting her energy to save you, it might draw out everything she has. So your blood should help.”

I just simply nodded and sat down.

“If this doesn’t work, you may have to enter her mind again. But I don’t think she’s there.”

I held my arm out and let her place the tourniquet. I winced when the needle went in my arm, but I would do anything for my mate.

She drew blood from me for almost ten minutes.

“It’s going straight from you to her. I hope this works!” She yelled.

She took the blood bag and took Anna’s IV and plugged them together. She took a deep breath and pressed the lever to allow the blood to flow through and pump inside Anna’s veins.

Within thirty seconds of my blood flowing into her, she jolted and sat upright eyes blinking fast.

She looked around and saw the blood bag.

“WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!”

Anna’s POV:

I woke up immediately. Tingles and sparks were radiating throughout my body. I saw Damon and Dr. Kristen looking at me with wide eyes. Damon quickly grabbed my hand and kissed it.

“You scared me for a second there, I thought I was gonna have to go in your mind again to get you.”

I smiled at him, “Thank goddess I didn’t go back to that place I my mind. It’s scary and lonely.” I stared off into the distance contemplating on how to bring up why I was hooked up to machines. I remember what happened but I don’t remember getting hurt.

“Sweetie, you past out from the exertion. Your body couldn’t handle that much energy. It gave out, literally.” Dr. Kristen responded.

“I remember wishing the rogues were dead, and then they were. Did I do that?” I asked.

“Actually Nova and you both did it. She took control, I saw it in your eyes. But if you wished it, she did it.”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

“So what, is that another power I have?”

“I believe you have the power to control a whole person. Or their will as I’d call it.” Dr. Kristen replied.

“So I can make clothes appear, that actually comes in handy. And control ones will. Two down, three to go!” I said sarcastically. I was secretly excited to know what they were, but the thought in the back of my mind was that I killed someone. Three people at that. I didn’t want to become a monster.

“What’s on your mind baby?” Damon asked.

“I don’t want to become something bad. I don’t wanna be the villain.” I was sobbing in between words.

“You couldn’t never be evil, bad or whatever crazy words your thinking of. You have a kindhearted soul, I saw it the day I met you. You protected us and saved us all.” He knelt down and gave me a kiss on the cheek, but I wanted more. I caught him off guard by giving him a kiss on the lips by turning my head. I saw his eyes shoot open wide then slowly close. I wanted him to know I did truly love him, even if I was scared of showing it. He carried me all the way to bed and cuddled me til I fell asleep.

Unknown POV:

I arrived back at the safe house to let Jake and the others know what happened.

“Sir, it seems your sister has shifted and she has powers.” I said.

“You said powers? As in plural?” Jake responded.

“Yes, she killed all three men within 10 minutes.”

“Bullshit! She was always submissive and scared. And she would never have the balls to stand up to me.” He smirked.

I rolled my eyes and continued.

“Sir, I don’t know if I should..” I was cut off by him yelling.

“JUST GO GET THE DAMN b***h AND BRING HER HERE! f**k YOUR DUMB!” Jake yelled. His mate Lily appeared and rubbed his shoulders.

“Get off me slut, I have more important things to worry about then your needyness.” She bowed her head and walked away.

How can a man treat his own mate like that? Let alone his family. I heard him making some calls and then making a deal.

“Can you be here tomorrow by noon?” He paused.

“Excellent Elena I’ll see you then.” He hung up and started laughing.

“My stupid ass sister has no idea what’s coming. For those of you wondering, Elena is a witch. She had dealing with our former alpha and because I declared myself the new Alpha, she now works for me. She will be here tomorrow so be on your best behavior or she won’t help me. Your all dismissed!” He yelled and turned away.

“Lily, make my dinner now!” He screamed and I saw Lily slowly make her way to the kitchen. Something seemed off between the two of them.

I had to wait til atleast tomorrow to make any sort of move. I had to be patient.
