Chapter 12

Anna’s POV: I woke up to an empty bed but could hear Damon in the bathroom. He came out with nothing but a towel around his waist and I could finally take him all in. He was very tall, I’d say 6’4 maybe. His hair was wet and his curls black and bouncy that went to his eyes. His eyes were crystal blue. He had tattoos covering most of his body. Damn, he was sexy. “He is quite handsome, I can’t wait til we…” “Nova! Stop it!” I yelled at her in my mind. She giggled and retreated. Damon could see my facial expressions and walked over to me. I could feel him taking in every bit of me. And my body. “What are the plans for today?” I asked him, trying to take his mind off of me momentarily. “Well, I’m going to go back to the cliffs and see if I can follow any scents or tracks. Mainly your brothers. I’m bringing Elijah with me.” He replied. “Can I come? Please?” I pleaded. “No. I will not risk your life again. You can stay with a Ruby while we are gone. Matt will take care of whatever y’all need. Please don’t fight me on this.” He said with sad eyes. “It’s okay. I don’t mind staying here. Just promise you won’t do anything stupid and you two come back in one piece.” “I promise.” He replied. I lifted myself up on my tippy toes and gave him a kiss. A real one full of passion. I could feel myself falling in love with him. After the kiss, he mindlinked Ruby and her and Matt were at the door in minutes. “You ready for a fun filled day sis?” She asked. “Ready as I’ll ever be!” I replied with excitement. “Why do I have to stay here with two girls all day?” Matt asked. “Because I said so. No other explanation needed.” Damon responded, giving him a cold look. “Fine. But I’m not doing anything girlie.” He said in defeat. “If you do find my brother, link us and let me know. I do want to talk to him. I need to know why he hates me so much.” I said looking between Damon and Elijah. He kissed me again and simply nodded his head. “We will be back in a bit.” “Be careful. Please.” One more kiss and they were gone. Once they were out the door, Ruby and I turned our attention to Matt’s d grinned at each other. “Oh no. No way!” He yelled. Within an hour, we had him in a chair with an face full of makeup and his hair done with a wig. Ruby snapped a quick picture so we could use it against him later. Elena’s POV: I was on my way to meet Jake and his so called pack. I hated being used to help people do horrible things. Sure I was a were-witch and neither got along, I knew I had keep the deal intact until she was free. The old Alpha of Jade Moon Pack took my little sister as leverage to keep me doing things for him. He sold her to a neighboring pack, but never told me which one. He promised her freedom once everything was done. My poor Cinder, I will free her soon. I arrived at their safe house and was met by a familiar man, he had kind eyes. He always was nice, never disobeyed. “Hello, I’m Ash. I’m here to escort you to Jake. Please follow me.” He didn’t remember me, I knew he wouldn’t. No one would except Jake. He was the only other person who knew about the plans set. We arrived at a door and Ash opened it and ushered me inside. Jake sat on a chair drinking a beer. “Elena, good to see you! Ash, leave us!” He yelled. Ash nodded and closed the door behind him. “Now that we are alone, let’s get to it. I have one final deal to make with you then I will release the location of your sister. But you just do exactly what I say.” He said as he grinned. I sighed, “What is it that I have to do now?” “First, you need to go to the cliffs where my sister killed my men. Get her scent, and her mates. Follow it back and let me know where they are. I need to know where I need to attack. And second, fix Lily, she is started to catch on the longer we are together. I need her to be calm instead of crazy and scared.” He said. I looked at him in disbelief. “Are you doing something to her that she does not like? Because if so, she is going to start to lose it. You still cannot change free will even if she is under my spell.” I told him. “JIST FIX HER OR ILL FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO TAKE MY ANGER OUT ON!” He screamed. I had a feeling he meant he would use me so I agreed. “Take me to her.” I simply responded. “She will come here. LILLY!” I heard a knock shortly after and she opened the door. I never saw someone look so miserable and defeated. She approached Jake and he out his arm around her waist. She winced whenever he touched her. I didn’t want to do this, but I knew I had to in order to keep Cinder safe. But I wouldn’t let him get away with it. So I altered my spell a little bit. If she found her true mate, the spell would be broken and she would recognize them as her person. “Lily, please lay down on the floor and close your eyes.” I chanted over relayed my new planned spell over her and a few minutes later she stood back up. She smiled at me then looked at Jake. “Are you hungry baby?” She whispered in his ear. “Starved actually. Go get us something to eat.” He ordered. She quickly left the room. “Now that that’s taken care of, I expect you to be gone and off to the cliffs within the hour. And I better get good news back.” I wasted no time and quickly stood up. “Tell me where I’m going and I’ll be off.” He told me where to go and I quickly started my journey. I had to remember why I was doing this. If I could find out where she is, then I could end all of this, but I had been searching for years and I couldn’t find a trace of her. I didn’t know if she was even alive anymore. But I knew deep down I would feel it. She is my sister. I walked until it got dark and decided it was a good as spot as ever to make camp and sleep. The cliffs weren’t that far and I could make it there in an hour or two when I woke back up. I made a fire and settled into my blanket I stowed away in a bag. Even though I was a wolf hybrid I couldn’t shift. I would finally be able to once I was marked by my fated mate. If I even had one. So a blanket will do. I was getting hungry and wanted to make a snack. My wolf, Raven, was stirring in my mind going crazy. I reached for my bag when I smelt something amazing, but I couldn’t pinpoint it. It smelled of fresh fallen rain, mint and coconut. I looked around but couldn’t see anyone. “Someone’s here.” I said to Raven. “Our mate is here.” She replied. “Our what?!” I yelled. Elijah’s POV: Damon and I said good bye to everyone. “I feel bad for Matt. He’s doomed.” I said. “Maybe they won’t be too hard on him?” Damon responded. We both started laughing and kept going. We shifted so we could get there faster because it was starting to get dark. We were running through the forest going at a record speed and something stopped Frag dead in his tracks. I could smell her. It was a pure mix of sweet fruit and berries. I could smell strawberries, kiwi, and apples. It was intoxicating. Cole stopped and looked back. We shifted back and so did he. “What’s going on?” He asked. “I can smell my mate. But I don’t see anyone.” I replied. I walked around for a few minutes allowing the scent to get stronger and I could see a dim light off in the distance. It got brighter and I could see a fire with a woman sitting beside it. “Mate! Mate! She is here!” Frag was jumping up and down with excitement. I could see she smelled me too because she looked up and around. She searched for a minute then we made eye contact. She stood up and we approached each other slowly. Once she was in arms reach, she grabbed me and pulled me to her and said the sweetest words I’ve ever heard. “You have no idea how long I have waited for you.”
