The Abused Mate

Chapter 13

Elijah’s POV:

She pulled me close and started to sob. I heard Damon approaching behind me and she got behind me, but kept her eyes on Damon.

“Please tell me your not from the Blood Moon Pack.” She said. Even though she showed slight fear, her voice was sweet like honey.

“Yes, I am the Alpha Damon. This is my Beta who is apparently your mate. But why are you on my land?” He asked. Seriously dude?

“Oh no, oh no, oh no. I’m dead. She’s dead. I’m so sorry.” She started to cry again. I faced her and pulled her chin up so she was facing me.

“First, what’s your name?”

“My name is Elena.” She said through sniffles.

“I’m Elijah. We are mates, I will always protect you and care for you. Tell me what’s going on and why you are here.” I said as peacefully and calmly as possible.

“I’m so sorry. He has my sister, I don’t know what to do.” She cried.

“What do you mean? Who?” Damon questioned.

“Your mates brother.” She replied looking down.

“Her old Alpha, Hunter kidnapped her three years ago when he found out we were hybrids. He held her against me and if I ever did anything against him, he would have her killed.”

“But he’s dead, I’m confused.” I said.

“Jake took over as Alpha and he was the only one who was in on the deal. Because he knew everything, I had to continue.” She was spilling everything to us.

“He wants me find his sister and tell him where you all are so he can attack. He wants her dead. He knows she’s special and didn’t want her to know. Hunter had me put a spell on the whole pack and they all turned against her. Hell, his mate isn’t even his real mate. I had to put a spell on her too, but when I saw her earlier she looked broken so I changed my spell. If she finds her real mate, the spell will break. I’m trying I really am.” She fell to her knees and yelled. She looked defeated.

I gently lifted her up and wiped the tears of her face. I took in her beauty. Bright blonde hair, super curly, she was about 5’6 and her t**s were perfect and perky. Even with everything going on, she took care of herself and her body. I would appreciate that later.

“What should we do?” I asked Damon.

“We need to come up with a plan. I’ll link everyone and have them come here. Is that okay?” He said looking Elena’s way. She nodded. His eyes hazed over and two minutes later they changed back.

“They are coming now. We will take care of this problem now.” Damon said.

“Wait! I can’t get my sister killed. I don’t know where she is!” Elena cried.

“We are going to save her. I promise.” I said kissing her forehead.

Anna’s POV:

“Baby, I need you and Ruby to quit harassing Matt and head back towards the cliffs. All of you.” Damon said through the mindlink.

“Thank you! I’m getting ready now!” Matt responded.

“Hey, we took pictures so don’t make me use them. We’re getting ready now. Is everything okay?” I asked.

“Yeah, soooo… there’s alot but it will be easier to explain everything here. We’re about an hour southwest of the cliffs. Shift and get here fast. I love you.”

“I love you Damon.”

We shut off the link and headed out the back door. Ruby, Matt and I shifted and took off. It would take atleast two hours to get there even with our wolves. Nova was going full speed and was leaving Draco and Pearl behind. They tried desperately to catch up but to no avail.

As we were running, I started smelling him, so did Nova. I’ll never get tired of that smell. So intoxicating. I could see a fire in the distance so we shifted back and we all approached.

“Baby. I missed you.” Damon said grabbing me and inhaling my scent. I blushed and gave him a kiss on the cheek. I glanced over and saw Elijah holding a girl, she looked to be about my age.

“Who is this?” Ruby beat me to the question.

Elijah smiled and looked down at the girl he was holding.

“This is Elena, she is my mate.”

“Oh my goddess! That’s awesome!” Ruby paused. “But wait, how did you find her in the woods?”

“It’s a long story. Let’s set up camp for the night and we will explain everything.” Damon replied.

We made a fire and sat around it. Damon has a firm grip around my waist and he seemed like he was on edge. Elijah had his arm around Elena’s shoulders and was rubbing circles on her hand with his thumb. Ruby and Matt sat and stared at the fire. All anyone could hear was the crackle and pop of the flames. I still felt bad for them. I hoped they would find their mates soon.

“So let’s get to it. Why were you in the woods?” Ruby asked breaking the silence.

Elena went to speak but Elijah chimed in.

“Before she explains, I don’t want anyone bombarding her with questions until after she’s done talking.” He looked at her with a smile and nodded.

“I was sent here by your brother.” She said in my direction. Damon squeezed me reassuring me it was okay.

“I just want you to know I had every intention of not doing what he says. There are things I have to comply with but that doesn’t mean I’m out to hurt anyone.” Elena said. She took a deep breath.

“Your brother knows about your powers. So did your old Alpha. I was made to turn everyone against you. You have no idea how powerful you really are. But they do, and they didn’t like that. Power driven Alphas are the worst. You see, Hunter took my sister and promised to kill her if I didn’t comply with him so I continued doing what he said. But I never hurt anyone. I found out he was hurting his so called mate and I changed the spell on her. I don’t want..” I cut her off.

“Wait, you mean Lily? What do you mean so called mate?” I asked.

“He always had a thing for Lily since they were young, but Jake found his mate the day he turned eighteen. Do you remember an Abigail Lawrence by chance?” She asked. I started to get scared.

“Yeah, her and her family left the pack after her father got a job in the human world. Which I even thought was odd.”

“Well, they didn’t leave. She was his mate and because she and her family were Omegas, he rejected her. But she didn’t accept it and Jake got mad. He told Hunter and he sent rogues in at night and slaughtered the whole family. They removed the bodies and cleaned the blood before the sun even rose the next day.”

“And you knew about this?!” I yelled. Damon was holding me back.

“I’m sorry! What would you do if your sister was kidnapped? Being tortured, beaten, who knows what else?!” Elena yelled back.

It hit me. I knew what it felt like to have that done to me.

“How old was she when she was taken?” Elijah asked.

“She was only 16 so she’s almost 19 now. If she’s alive.” Elena responded.

“Look, I’m sorry I yelled. I just can’t believe they would do something like that. To pack members. So what does that have to do with Lily?” I asked.

“He wanted her as his mate. Hunter had me put a spell on her to make her think Jake was her mate when she turned eighteen. And the day came and she became his.”

“Why did you change it though?” I questioned.

“Because when I saw her, she looked defeated. She had bruises and her body was just. I can’t even describe how she looked but it tore my heart apart knowing I had something to do with it. So when she finds her true mate, the spell will break.”

“So what’s the plan then?” Ruby looked at Damon.

“She was sent here to find Anna’s location and report back to Jake so he can attack. He obviously wants her dead so we will lure him into a trap.”

“Are you sure he will fall for it?” I asked.

“I can make sure he does. But reassure me he will not die until I find my sister.” Elena said. Elijah grabbed her and pulled her close and kissed her.

“I promise, we will bring her back to you.”
