Chapter 14

Anna’s POV:

I knew the plan we had was risky. But I would do anything to get rid of the constant fear creeping over my shoulder.

“So Elena is going to report back to Jake and tell him where we are. The exact location of the pack house.” Damon said.

“Yes, I’ll tell him you all have settled back into everyday life at your Pack house. Things have to seem on edge though so I’ll make sure to tell him your guards are watching.” Elena replied.

“And your going to put a spell on him?” I asked.

“No, I’m going to put truth serum in a beer of his. I know he will want to celebrate thinking you aren’t suspicious of him. Once I get the location of my sister, I don’t care what you do to him. Once he’s dead all the spells will break.”

“I promise we will save your sister. Everything will work out.” Elijah said kissing Elena’s forehead.

“Once he knows you are there, he will move quickly. He’s been pushing everyone extra hard so he can attack whenever I give the okay.”

Damon squeezed my waist and kissed my forehead as well. I loved the sparks that were flowing from his lips through my body.

“I’m nervous, but we need to prepare everyone back at the pack. They need to be given a choice to stay and fight or protect their own. I will not have people die because I was your chosen mate. I just won’t.” I said.

“Spoken like a true Luna. I love it!” Yelled Ruby.

Matt and Elijah smiled at each other and looked at Damon who nodded back with a grin.

“Let’s head home.” Damon said shifting into his wolf. I looked back at Elijah who was holding Elena tight.

“I will see you soon. I promise I’m going to make this right.” I heard her say. He simply smiled and kissed her. They ended up making out for a minute before I coughed to get their attention.

“I’m sorry Elijah but we need to get back.” I said.

“I know.” He turned his attention back to Elena.

“Be safe, I’ll see you soon.” He kissed her one more time and shifted into his wolf. He nuzzled her with his snout and she giggled.

“Be safe, we will arrive within forty eight hours.” Elena said as she turned and walked away. I quickly shifted and turned towards everyone. We started our run back home hoping everything was going to work out how we planned.

Elijah’s POV:

I kissed Elena and watched as she disappeared into the trees. I can’t believe I finally found my mate. She was perfect. Of all things to happen though, she had to be apart of this. I hope she knows what she’s doing. And I will keep my promise to her. I will find her sister and bring her home to her.

Frag was so happy, he had longed for his mate probably longer then I have. And she was a witch. He was intrigued by them even when I told him we would never be friends with one. It’s funny how the Moon Goddess works.

Cole and Nova were running faster then any wolves I’ve ever seen. It’s like they fueled each other. They zipped through the trees and almost appeared to be one. Nova’s eyes was the only way we could tell when they were running together.

“Do you think this will work?” Matt said through the mindlink.

“It has to, it will. Once he gets here, we find out where Elena’s sister is then we kill him.” I replied.

“Either way, as long as Jake is dead I don’t care what else happens.” Damon said.

“I just want everyone safe.” Ruby replied.

We all agreed and soon arrived back at the pack house. Damon and Anna went to announce the plans to everyone. Now we just had to wait. And I prayed Elena stayed safe until she arrived.

Elena’s POV:

I hoped Jake would be happy with what I had to tell him. I really think this plan could work. I decided to go ahead and make the truth serum on my way. It would take just a few minutes and then I could give him it before we left. I collected what I needed along the way and quickly made the sweet nectar that would free my sister. I showed it away in my bag and continued my journey. I had a new light in my eye. I felt happy knowing my sweet Cinder would be free soon.

I had been walking for over an hour when I felt eyes on me. I knew I was getting close to the safe house. I could hear twigs breaking and small yips here and there. I walked for a few more minutes when I heard his voice echo.

“Elena! You better have good news!” Jake yelled, Lily standing beside him with her head low. She had new bruises and she looked skinnier then she did three days ago. Bastard.

“Yes I do Alpha. Everyone including your sister are at the pack house for the Blood Moon Pack.”

“Excellent. We will leave at sunrise tomorrow. Elena you will accompany us and if it goes accordingly, I’ll give you your sister.”

“Thankyou Alpha.” I said relieved.

“But that doesn’t mean you will stop working for me.” He said laughing.

“You and your sister will be working for me for a while. Get comfortable.”

I knew tomorrow would change everything so I simply dropped my head.

“Do you need anything else?” I asked.

“No, we will leave in the morning. Now go.” He said shooing his hand my way. He grabbed Lily by the arm and dragged her away down the stairs. I turned with a disgusted face and was met by the kind man.

“Hey, I’m sorry about him. I’m Ash by the way.” He said.

“Nice to meet you.” I replied keeping my head down.

“Can we talk? In private?” He asked.

Before I could answer I heard muffled screams and cries of pain coming from downstairs. I squinched my face in sadness and nodded my head yes. We walked for a few minutes til we were outside away from any prying eyes and ears.

“I’m really sorry about the Alpha. I don’t even know why I’m doing this. I have no respect for him after how he treats his mate. I want to help you with your sister. I don’t want you two stuck here.”

My ears couldn’t believe what they were hearing.

“Do you trust me?” I asked knowing he had only known me a short few minutes.

“Yes, I know you wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize your sister.” He said. But what I was about to do would indeed jeopardize her and the whole plan but knowing how he felt could aid us.

I put my hands on his head and started chanting. I was removing the memories spell from him. He would remember everything he has done and what’s happened, but he will remember how he was before, the friendships he had. And hopefully help us tomorrow.

I finished the spell and pushed his chest and he to the ground. He went unconscious for a few seconds and woke up with a holler.

“Woah.” Is as he could say.

“What have I done? She was my friend! He betrayed her. They both did. They betrayed everyone!” He yelled.

“Relax. I removed a spell that was placed on you a few years ago.” I said calmly.

“I’m going to kill him!” He yelled trying to get up.

“No! Please I have a plan in place. This wasn’t part of it but knowing how you felt I needed to take the risk. Will you help me?” I begged. He nodded almost immediately. I explained to him what we were going to do and what was going to happen tomorrow. He agreed to help me get the truth serum in a drink of his before we left.

“When we arrive to their territory, I really hope Anna forgives me. I can’t believe he had you brainwash me, let alone everyone else.”

“She seems to have the spirit of a true Luna, I’m sure she will not hesitate to forgive a friend.” I tried to reassure him. We headed back inside and assumed our “roles”. It was going to be a long day tomorrow.
