"Good morning gorgeous," Gavyn's voice woke me up. "Hey handsome," I mumbled in reply. "Ready for another day of recording?" "As long as I'm with you I don't care what we do," Gavyn bent down over me and kissed my neck. As much as I loved it, we had to work that day and we couldn't get distracted. "We have to work," I whined. “Maybe later,” he said as he continued to kiss my neck and brought his hand further up my inner thigh. Part of me wanted to be responsible and make it to the recording studio on time, but most of me was more than pleased with the fun we had that morning. Every time he touched me, I felt exhilarated. I felt alive. I felt ready to conquer the day. When we finally arrived at the recording studio, everyone else was already there, including Charlie. I was so glad to see her. She seemed to be doing better from the day before. Still, there wasn’t too much of an improvement. She looked as though she was wearing a mask, even though it was very clearly her own skin. I wanted to see if, perhaps, she would be more responsive to me that day. I went over to her and wrapped my arm around her shoulders. “How are you doing?” “Better,” I could tell it was forced, “What about you?” “Great, actually,” I chose not to press it further, “Excited to continue recording!” “Me too.” The day ahead of us was a whirlwind. It went by surprisingly quickly. We didn’t have much time left in England, so we managed to finish recording two songs, one of which being Blaire’s, leaving us two left to finish within the following few days. It was Friday, and we were leaving on Tuesday, which meant we only really had two days to record two more songs. Blaire, Azalea, and Melody were leaving that night. Since Amber, Charlie, and I had gone with Hakim to pick them up, Maia and Jordan were going with Hakim to drop them off. We didn’t want to attract too much publicity, which is why we weren’t all going with them. Instead, we were having a fancy dinner that night to celebrate their time with us. While I didn’t spend much time with them, I had really come to like Blaire and Azalea, and I hoped I could get to know them better in the future. Melody, on the other hand, I was happy to see leave. Even though we technically shared a room, our only communication was through dirty looks. Our agent thought it would be a good idea to have some interviewers at the dinner. I sat beside Gavyn and Jordan, with Melody in front of Gavyn, Charlie in front of me, and Rudy in front of Jordan. It was overwhelming to be asked so many questions about things we either couldn’t or didn’t want to talk about. Of course, I was asked a lot of questions about Gavyn. I only continued to answer them because, when I didn’t, they would turn to Charlie and ask her about Rudy, and I could tell she wasn’t in the frame of mind to handle that. The interviewers left when the food arrived. The food was to die for. We all had an amazing time. I avoided eye contact with Melody, and chose to spend my time bonding with Jordan, which I hadn’t done recently. I noticed Charlie was quieter than usual, but I chose to attribute it to her being drained from all the questions. “Noah,” Gavyn whispered in my ear, “I want you right now.” “Let’s get out of here, then,” I whispered back. Placing my hand in his, the two of us got up from the table and said that we had to go. Gavyn immediately drove us to his place. My lips met his as soon as we entered his bedroom and shut the door. Things escalated rapidly from there, like they always did. Before I knew it, I was in his bed with nothing but my pants on, and same for Niall. My phone started ringing as soon as Gavyn went to unbutton my pants. Knowing how rarely people call me, I assumed it was something urgent. I nudged Gavyn off of me and pulled out my phone to see it was Charlie. I answered the phone, only to hear her sobbing on the other end. “Charlie? What’s wrong? What’s going on?” She didn’t respond. “Gavyn, drive me back to the mansion,” I was already putting my clothes back on. “Noah, come on, it’s late, she’ll be fine.” “My best friend needs me,” it was final. “Alright, let’s get in the car,” he sighed. “Charlie, I’m going to be there soon, okay?” I let her know as I hung up the phone.
