Blurb

Jade was a girl that people learned not to mess with. She held her own and was handy with any sharp object. Kids were terrified of her. Maybe it was the tattoo on her arm. Maybe it was the way her face held. Could also be the rumors about her. Either way, when Jacob joins the school, ready to dominate everyone, he gets push back from the girl. And he is not happy.

The New Kid
The sound of a muffled scream filled the nearly empty room, followed by some profanity, which was less muffled. The click of a lighter could be heard, a small flame coming from the area of which the sound was. The flame slowly moved up, lighting a cigarette, before some smoke could be seen. Out of the darkness came a raven haired girl clad in black skinny jeans and a slightly worn black t-shirt. Over her shoulder she carried a leather jacket, in her other hand, the arm tattooed from shoulder to the back of her hand, she held the recently lit cigarette. Her eyes were a piercing blue, the color lined with dark eyeliner. The sound of her boots echoed throughout the the warehouse. She stepped into the light, closer to the seated man, who already looked quite bloody from the beating that she silently stopped.     "I'm sure that's enough for now, Chris. He just might talk now. If not, I may just need to get my hands dirty, which would be such a shame," said the girl. She leaned down slightly to look the poor man in the eye, "now, for that information kind sir. We just want to know who gave you the instruction and where they are. It is that simple. If you could be just so kind to tell us that simple information?"     The man glared at the blue eyed woman. It was clear that he would not talk, despite the beating previously given. This irked the woman. She brought herself to a standing position and motioned to the man she had called Chris, being handed some brass knuckles. She slipped them onto her fingers and sighed, running her fingers over the engraving on the knuckles.     "You still haven't had enough have you," she said before slamming her fist into the corner of the mans mouth, blood coming out and she was sure she had seen a tooth. The man looked at her, swollen face and with a new imprint on his face: JADE     "Look, I never saw his face! He went by a fake name, I don't know who he is!" said the man, making an emotionless chuckle come from her mouth. She turned around, sliding the metal off her hand, wiping it clean before handing it off to Chris again, "we will take whatever information you have."     "His name was Phantom. I never met him in person, I don't know what he looks like. He always sent someone to me to give me instruction. I don't know anything else. Please, let me go," said the man. This bothered the girl. He had no more information than the last few people. The only new thing what they now had a name.     "Dispose of him, Roach," She said, walking towards the door, Chris in tow.     "What are we going to do? That was our last lead," Said Chris, walking next to the raven haired girl.     "Well, we have a name. Suits him well. Phantom. He sure is a phantom with how hard it is to get him. Round up the guys. Get any information that you can on this Phantom guy. You get any leads, call me," she said, taking one last drag of the cigarette before throwing it to the side and pulling on her jacket.     "You got it Jade. See ya around," Chris said and walked away. Jade smirked and got on her bike, turning it on then zooming away. **********************     Jacob was skeptical of this new school. It seemed too prestigious for him. He already didn't like public school, why did his parents think he would like private school? He sighed and walked through the doors, hands in the pockets of his jeans, his shoes hitting the ground with not much sound. He looked around and saw a couple students stare at him. He just glared at them and kept walking. This was why he didn't want to move. Now hes the new kid and all the attention was on him. The halls were loud with chatter as he made his way to the locker that he was told he had. He put in the combination that the principal had given him, opening the locker. It smelled terrible. He just put his bag in there, closed the locker, and started walking away from it. He was then suddenly slammed into the lockers. He groaned, not in pain, but in annoyance.     "5 minutes into the school day and already being thrown around? Come on. You don't even know me," Said Jacob, looking at the large man in front of him.     "You see, I'm just trying to show you how it works here," said the large man. Jacob leaned against the locker and crossed his arms in front of him, silently deciding to provoke the guy, "Go on then. How does it work here? Wouldn't want to disrupt your flow."     That seemed to have angered the strange guy. He punched the locker next to Jacobs head and said, "Are you giving me attitude, Maggot?"     "Nope," Said Jacob, popping the 'p' in the word, "Simply trying to understand the school."     The man then tried to swing a punch at Jacob, which he easily dodged. Jacob wasn't a small guy, but he wasn't big either. He had muscle, but at the same time he was nimble. He chuckled as the guy was clearly itching for a fight. He would be lying to himself if he didn't want a fight as well.      "Such a big man without a plan. You just gonna punch the lockers all day or are we going to have some fun?" Said Jacob, provoking the now angry man more.     He heard the man growl before he advanced towards Jacob. Jacob noticed that the guy was rolling his wrists and shoulders. He smirked a little and dodged the first punch. The students had already formed a circle around them and Jacob casually moved to the other side of the circle, not even having any defenses up.      "Stop moving you f*****g piece of s**t!" Said the guy.     "If I don't then I'll get hit," Jacob said, matter-of-factually.     "Then fight back!" he yelled, lunging at Jacob. Jacob smoothly dodged once again.     "You don't want that. Just tire yourself out. Its all good man,"  Jacob said, smirking.     "f*****g fight me!" yelled the man, lunging one last time at Jacob.     "Okay. Fine," Jacob said, grabbing the guy by the throat and throwing him to the ground. everyone around them gasped, clearly not expecting that out of Jacob. The guy, now enraged that he was taken down so easy, threw another punch at Jacob, aiming for his face. Jacob promptly grabbed his fist and twisted it, hearing a crack. It wasn't broken. Sprained, dislocated, maybe. Not broken though. He heard the guy yelp in pain as he threw a quick punch to his face, getting up after that, straightening out his clothes, and looking at the guy.     "Told you you didn't want that. Now if you'll excuse me, I have class," He then walked away and moved through the crowd, walking away from everyone.     "That was rough," a strange voice said.     "I warned him, rough or not," Said Jacob, not bothering to look up at the person.     "Well, regardless, Jacob, you did not have to hand his ass to him like that," the person said again. His head then shot up to look at the person, hearing his name. He then saw a pair of striking blue eyes looking at him.     "You know my name. How?" He asked.     "That's for me to know and you to find out," said the girl.     "Well, in the case of common courtesy, I deserve to know yours as well then," He said, turning to face her. He studied her well. Her raven black hair, the leather jacket, worn shirt, the torn skinny jeans. It all looked put together yet lazy at the same time. He noticed the bit of tattoo on her hand as well, wondering how she got that when she is clearly in high school still.     "We can start with 'J'. You can get the rest later," She said, crossing her arms in front of her.     "Like the letter 'J' or Jay spelled J-A-Y?" he asked     "Whichever," she said before walking away. He watched her walk away, seeing how people basically parted like the sea for her. That's when he decided, she was his.
