Chapter 2

903 Words
My fierce appearance made the several women tremble with fear. They looked at me as if I were some kind of monster. Kayla hesitated, stepping back a bit before finally gathering the courage to speak. "Mr. Fraser, whatever happened between you and Joyce in the past, please let it go. Don't hurt us," she pleaded. The other women joined in. "Leave us alone! We don't want to be around a mercenary who kills without remorse. You're too dangerous. Joyce did nothing wrong." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "Joyce betrayed her husband and her marriage, and you think she's right?" I asked in disbelief. Kayla nodded. "Mr. Fraser, Joyce may have betrayed you, but it's not against the law. You tried to kill her on the ship, and even if it was just an attempt, you should be punished under federal law." Their words made me so angry that I sneered. They truly believed that Joyce, who had cheated on me, was innocent, and that I was the one to blame. Their unreasonable remarks left me dizzy. I glared at these women who supported Joyce emotionally and sneered. "Since you've sided with Joyce, don't regret it." Suppressing my anger, I turned and walked away with a cold smile. This was a deserted island, and arguing now was pointless; it only wasted my precious time and energy. Soon, they would realize they were shipwreck survivors, not resort tourists. Hunger, cold, and darkness would soon teach them a harsh lesson. By then, these women would beg me for forgiveness and rescue. *** I stormed along the beach until they were out of sight, then slowed my pace. Once I calmed down, I surveyed my surroundings. At the end of the beach stood many coconut trees, with dense woods and low mountains beyond them. The beach beneath my feet, aside from some shells, was free of trash, indicating no human presence on this deserted island. But I didn't have time to dwell on that. After drifting at sea for so long, I needed to replenish my energy. I eyed the tall coconut trees and climbed up. The coconuts were ripe, and with a few shakes, one fell. I climbed down quickly, found a crevice in a rock, and set the coconut upright. Its shell was tough, but a few hits against its tips could crack it open. As I expected, after hitting the coconut a few times with a stone, I managed to open it. I picked it up and drank its juice, feeling much better, a satisfied smile spreading across my face. Just then, a soft voice came from behind me, "Sir, could you share some coconut with me?" I turned to see Julia standing there. I didn't know when she had followed me, but she looked at me with pleading eyes. I remembered her. She was a t****k influencer, always catching men's attention with her stunning figure. But I didn't have a good impression of these women. They always sided with Joyce, so why should I share my food with her? I replied coldly, "Why should I share it with you? Any food on this deserted island can mean a chance to survive." Julia spoke gently, unfazed by my harshness, "Mr. Fraser, I've been on a diet to maintain my figure, and I haven't eaten for two days. I'm really hungry, please share some coconut with me." She added, "Please help me... I'll do anything in return." I instinctively asked, "Anything? Are you sure?" Julia was much prettier than Joyce. She was younger, wearing a fiery red swimsuit that made her skin look snow-white. Her tiny bikini barely covered her ample breasts, which rose and fell with her breathing. The swimsuit bottoms were small as well, barely covering her s*xy buttocks. Julia pleaded, "Sir, please, I'm so thirsty. I will repay you." She was clever, using her beauty and vulnerability to beg me for mercy. Seeing Julia's pitiful state, I relented and handed her the coconut. She took a couple of sips and licked her lips with her rosy tongue. Julia returned the coconut to me and said, "Thank you, Mr. Fraser." Then, Julia softly added, "I hope the rescue helicopter arrives within 30 hours." I shook my head and sighed, "I'm afraid the rescue team won't come." Julia became tense. "What? The rescue team won't come? Why?" I pointed to the beach nearby and explained, "Look, there's no trash on the beach, which means there's no land nearby and no shipping routes passing here." Julia, being smart, exclaimed, "How could the cruise ship leave the route and end up in this godforsaken place?" I sighed heavily again, "It's strange. The cruise ship's navigation is controlled by a system, and without human interference, it shouldn't have sailed into this reef-filled area." I continued, "Moreover, the ship exploded right after hitting the reef. Even if the reef hit the engine room, it wouldn't explode so quickly." My voice didn't stop there. "I'm afraid this isn't just a simple shipwreck. There's likely human sabotage involved." There was actually something even more terrifying that I hadn't told Joyce... ***** Author’s Note: Thank you so much for reading and being part of this journey!
