Carlos pored over the killer’s letters for days. The killer confessed to the crimes and said that Natasha was dead. The killer said that Natasha was “swimming with the fish in the ocean”. The letters contained several photos of Natasha’s dead body.
At times, Carlos could not control his emotions. There were several occasions at the office where he threw papers across the floor. He screamed, and then started to cry. Chief Vargas told Carlos that she was going to take him off the case. She said that it was too personal for him, and he was losing his objectivity.
