I'm Really Jealous

Mirabel's POV As we both reached our apartment, I quickly lay down on the couch. "Today was so stressful," I said, noticing George staring at me, looking upset. "What's with that long face, honey?" I teased him, and he chuckled. "You're not serious. By the way, who was that guy I saw you with at the company?" he asked, acting all serious. I couldn't help but pinch his cheek. He looked more charming when he looked serious. "Ouch! What was that for?" he shouted, holding his cheek as if he were in so much pain. I chuckled after seeing his reaction. "Huh? What did I do?" I said, laughing and making a fool of myself right in front of him. "You haven't answered my question, you know," he said again. When he repeated it, I knew he was actually serious. "He's the owner of the company where I'm currently working. So... he's my boss. He's so rude, and I don't like him at all," I said sharply. Yes, I don't like him. He's rude, arrogant, and full of pride. I'm not close enough to him to really know him, but from our few interactions, I could see those traits. Well, I don't really blame him just because he's the CEO, I'm giving him a certain amount of respect. I rolled my eyes, remembering the comment he'd made about me not wanting my job any longer. Argh, so annoying. I looked up and found George staring at me intently. I think he wanted me to tell him how my day went, so I told him everything that happened today at the company. "Seems like you've started making new friends. I'm really jealous," he said, and I slapped his shoulder playfully. "It's true, I've started making new friends. But you're my best friend, so don't worry no one will ever take your place in my heart, okay?" I said. He chuckled and nodded his head like a child who'd just been comforted by his mother. I couldn't help but laugh softly at his childish behavior. We chatted for a while before I fell asleep on the couch, resting my head on his shoulder while he told me about his day at work. Not that it wasn't interesting, but I just felt tired. I had to sleep. After talking for a while and not getting any reply, he looked at my face and sighed. He then carried me to bed, covered me up, and kissed my forehead before leaving my apartment. Raymond's POV I reached my dad's mansion, and we all sat at the dining table waiting for dinner. "Son, don't you think it's time to get married?" my dad said, as Joan, my little sister, giggled beside me. I could only roll my eyes, feeling quite annoyed. "I'm only 30, Dad," I said, not really interested in the discussion. I really love being single. Why? Because I can't see myself devoted to one woman. It's impossible. So why can't he just get that? I doubt I'll ever love one woman, because to me, it's like wearing the same clothes every day. "You're only 30 so what? Nevertheless, I have someone in mind for you. She's gorgeous, beautiful, and very respectful. Actually, she's my friend's daughter," my dad said, as Ken chuckled lightly beside me. Oh, this guy I hate when he smiles. I don't quite understand where this dislike comes from, but I don't like his smile at all. He's my stepbrother. "Then maybe I can go out with her for a day. But marriage? I'm not ready for that," I said sharply. "You don't have to be ready just marry her, and maybe later in the marriage you'll find love," my dad said. That really triggered my anger. Love? Really, love? "Why don't you marry her yourself, Dad? Marriage, marriage, marriage that's all you ever talk to your son about! Can't you at least wait until after dinner? All you say is, 'Marry her and you'll find love.' I guess you think marriage is such an easy thing is that why you remarried right after Mom died?" I said, casting a cold glare at my stepmother. I couldn't prove it, but I had a feeling she'd had something to do with my mother's death. I stood and left the room, leaving all of them speechless. I leaned against my car and pulled a cigarette from my pocket, lit it, and took two puffs. I know I shouldn't have spoken to him like that, but he really needs to understand that I'm not ready for marriage. I can never be committed to it. I can't. I can't love. "Brother Ray, you know you shouldn't have spoken to Dad like that. Dad just wants what's best for you, brother," Joan said. Just then I noticed their presence it seemed they'd followed me out. I quickly threw the cigarette butt into a trash can. Joan and Julie are both my blood sisters twins, actually so as their eldest brother, I need to set a good example, and smoking obviously isn't a good thing. I usually smoke to calm down or collect my thoughts. I really did regret leaving the mansion like that. My dad is getting old and has been through a lot. I should have calmed down and explained things to him, but I'm really not that type of person anymore. I'm a completely different person now. I don't have patience. "I really didn't mean to walk out on him or speak to him like that, but he always brings up the marriage topic, and it always angers me," I said. I really hadn't meant to. "You know Dad is getting old. He just wants to see his grandchildren, so you don't have to blame him entirely. I guess it's just old age," Joan joked, and we all chuckled. "Alright, big brother, we should go back inside. I know you'll never come back even if I asked you to, so... bye. We'll come by your company tomorrow evening before you clock out, so make time for us I want all of us to hang out, okay?" Joan and Julie said together. I chuckled. "I won't be at the company in the evening I'm leaving early," I said. It wasn't completely a lie. Vic had invited me to a party tomorrow evening, so I had to be there to unwind. There'd be a lot of girls. "Okay then, we'll follow you. Actually, it's been a while since we went to a party, right, Joan?" Julie said, and they both giggled. Ha! They're so adorable. "Alright, meet me at the mansion, okay?" I said. They both kissed my cheeks and ran back into the mansion. I got into my car, and my driver drove me straight to my mansion. "Home, here I come," I mumbled under my breath. I really needed someone to please me tonight. Should I call Vin? Actually, his name is Vincent, but I've always loved calling him Vin why, I don't know. We've been friends for a long time. He's single too. That's why we do all the partying and the girl chasing together. And he's always got plenty of girls. All I had to do was place a call.
