Today was the day I would be meeting Violet in person. Just as planned, I had arrived at the library at two-thirty in the afternoon. I couldn’t contain my nerves as I spoke to Helen and paid full price for a private room in the back. I tried to keep my mind off of how creepy it felt to pay for a private room for my mate and Elliot, choosing instead to remember that they’re just doing a school project together. I hadn’t really planned out what I was going to do when they arrive so I decided instead to go to the room I paid for and read.
It took me ten minutes to search the isles until I found a book that looked even remotely interesting. By the time I had made it to the room and sat down, I could hear Elliot at the front desk asking about this room. Silently I took a deep breath to steady my nerves. I slowed my heartbeat and focused on the words of the book, trying to make it look like I was really interested in it when all I was truly interested in was about to walk in that door. I could hear Elliot’s voice as he spoke to her just outside.
“This is one of the library’s we have in town. We could do all of our projects here and we’d be able to use the back room for just ourselves!” Elliot spoke up animatedly as my beautiful mate walked through the door.
I wanted to be irritated at Elliot’s choice of words but I was too distracted with my mate now and the fact that we were making eye contact. I tried to take in her whole appearance without it looking like I am checking her out. She stood at possibly five feet. She had dark purpleeddish colored hair that came down to the middle of her back and bright green eyes. Even in the clothes she was wearing I could make out that she had a full bust and a round butt. She didn’t look to be all skin and bones but she didn’t look to be over weight either. She adorned a pair of black tights and a long red shirt that had a slight dip in the middle, it looked classy without baring too much skin.
Over the red top she wore a dark black sweater and when she made it to the large table, I watched as she stripped herself of it and placed it over her left shoulder as she finally made eye contact with me again.
“Elliot, I thought we had the room alone?” She questioned softly, something that resembled a small smile graced her lips as she glanced between me and Elliot.
“So did I, but it’s just us three so it shouldn’t be a problem, right Vi?” Elliot asked her as he softly set their school supplies down on the table in front of them.
Not wanting her to feel uncomfortable with my presence, I decided now would be a good time to speak up.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize the room was reserved. I can leave if you two would like?” I questioned following an apologetic smile.
I stood from my chair after I spoke, attempting to pass a small “help me” smile towards Elliot without Violet noticing.
“No, it’s okay. I was just surprised. Elliot is right, it shouldn’t be a problem; I mean there’s enough space in here for a whole classroom of students so it’s no big deal.” Violet rambled slightly and I had to softly bite my tongue to keep myself from cooing at her. She looked so cute and slightly flustered.
“Okay, if you’re sure.” I responded slowly, allowing the sound of my voice to drop an octave.
I kept my eyes on her as I noticed a flash of what looked to be lust but it was gone as quick as it came. I turned my head slightly to mask the boyish smirk that played on my lips, my body, heart and mind liking the way her eyes became mirrors to show me how she truly felt.
“Well, don’t let me keep you two from your studies.” I spoke up, aiming my words at Elliot, hoping he cold keep her entertained enough so she wouldn’t run away from me.
Without another word, I sat back down and pulled the book I was previously reading back up to my face. I spent most of my energy keeping myself focused on the words. I could hear movement from behind the book and I knew it was might finding a comfortable position in the uncomfortable library chairs.
It was only when Elliot and Violet sat down to begin working on the project, discussing how to divvy up the work load that I realized the irony of it all, the fact that they were working on a lycan project and the fact that my mate had no idea she was sitting in a room with two of them. I found the whole thing amusing but kept my face stoic as I continued to falsely read the book in front of me. Every few moments, while they discussed the topic, I would glance up only to find her so entrancing that I had trouble looking away. I imagine she felt like someone is watching her as every once in a while she would glance up and we would make eye contact again.
So as to not be too creepy, occasionally I would look back at the book and begin reading, all the while feeling eyes watching me and happily knowing those eyes belonged to my mate. I tried not to smirk when my thoughts turned the smallest bit s****l after a few moments of feeling her stare. She was beautiful and I couldn’t help the less than appropriate thoughts that came to mind. After a few more moments of our back and forth game of staring at each other when the other one wasn’t looking, I decided to actually focus on the book. I had read a line that caught my attention and because of that I now needed to know what happens in the rest of the story so with one final, secret glance at my mate, I leaned back in my chair and drowned myself in a story that wasn’t my own. It had been a long time since I had just sat and read a book for the fun of it and it felt nice to finally have an opportunity to do that.
