Marcus and I were both pulling and hitting at the dog trying to break the hold the dog had on his throat.
Nathaniel fell backwards to the ground screaming blood curdling screams. Marcus got his arm up under the chest of
the dog hurdling him into the nearest tree.
The dog hit and fell to the ground whining.
We stood there ready for the dog to attack again as rolls of clouds filled the sky, thunder and lighting streaked throughthe cloud covered sky as we watched. Rain started to fall down and the wind came rustling through the woods making
an eerie sound that sounded like someone was screaming through the tress.
Marcus and I stood waiting and watching the dog and the weather, when a figure stepped out from a few feet east of
where we were standing.
"Veronica. Where is the King?"
Trying to sound stronger than I felt at the very moment. Her eyes were white I could no longer see any of the blue that
flaked through them and her hair was wringing around her head. Her head was slightly turned down, but her eyes lay
on the dog that was laying next to the tree where Marcus had thrown him.
She closed her eyes and snow began to fall the thunder and lighting were gone and now the snow filled the air as we
watched her move from where she was standing over to the dog that had attacked Nathaniel.
"What did you do to my dog?"
Her voice sent a shiver down my spine and the hair on my neck stand on edge.
I didn't know what to say! This was her dog, that ferociously attacked us and she is more worried about what we did to
it?
"I am going to ask one more time. What did you do to my dog!"
She was now standing staring Marcus and I down with hatred in her eyes, her arms that hung down her sides and her
hands were shaped in balls.
"He attacked Nathaniel, we were trying to get him to stop attacking him."
Marcus stuttered stepping back a few steps leaving me closest to her.
Her head instantly turned in Marcus's direction as he stepped back. With a slight smile curving her up on her lips.
Veronica stared to edge closer to Marcus ready to take him out when Christopher came bonding through the woods to
the field.
"Stop! Wait, what is going on?"
Breathing heavy closing my eyes for the briefest moment thanking the Heavens above that there would be no more
blood shed and that I still could live another night.
"My King, we hurt the dog because he attacked Nathaniel. I do not know if he is still alive or not."
I said to Christopher chancing another glance back to Veronica's face. She was livid, you could see it writing all over
her face.
"He best not be dead. If he is I will kill the both of you." Veronica growled at Marcus and I.
I watched her move over to the dog still lying on the ground. She bent down raised his head up and bite into her wrist
putting her wrist to the dogs mouth. I was in shock, that dog was like a hell hound and here she was nursing it back to
life. Did I miss something somewhere? Christopher must have read the confusion on my face, "Memphis is veronica's
dog, Peter. He has been with her for over 200 years." He said with grief in his eyes as he watched Veronica with her
dog.
Turning his eyes back to me he motioned for me to help Nathaniel, nodding and leaning down I started feeding him the
same way Veronica was feeding her dog to try and save the both of them.
Nathaniel reached up and grabbed hold of my wrist and opened his eyes to look at me. I could feel the gratitude from
him as I helped him regain his strength.
Marcus was in shell shock and was paralyzed staring at Veronica and her demon dog. I could feel the hatred and
confusing feeling as he watched with a snarl across his face.
Looking back to where Veronica was Christopher was bent down next to her with arm draped across her shoulder. I
understand the confusion in his eyes now.
What was he doing that close to her and why was she not ripping his arm off?
Nathaniel started to sit up pulling my attention off of Christopher and Veronica.
"What was that thing that attacked me?" Nathaniel asked as he came to a full sitting position.
"It was Veronica's dog Nathaniel."
He looked at me with confusion in his eyes, then his eyes drifted to where the two were still hurdled by the dog. "What
the hell is the King doing with her and that demon of a dog."
Before any of us could say anything the king was hanging over Nathaniel growling with his eyes glowing "You do not
ask questions about my intentions with anyone and it is not just any dog!" Christopher growled as Nathaniel sat staring
back up into Christopher's lethal glare.
"No disrespect My Lord I am truly sorry."
Christopher backed up off of Nathaniel turning back to Veronica which was now standing staring at us with her dog
sitting next to her glaring at us.
"I am sorry my love no one will hurt Memphis again, I swear it to you."
Okay now where did that come from? The last thing that happened was her breaking his window and killing our guards
and now he is calling her his love?
Confusion was just the feeling for tonight because I could feel it rolling off of everyone standing there with me. Clearing
my throat, moving my hand up to fix my collar "No My Lord no one will hurt the dog again."
A smirk came across Veronica's face and Christopher just smiled.Well make sure that everyone knows at the coven that we;meaning Veronica and Memphis will be staying there
tonight."
"Yes My lord, I will make sure everyone knows."
"Go then and prepare, we are making our way there and I want them to know that they have a Queen now that will be
by my side from now till the last day the earth spins."
Faltering back a step I nodded. "Come Marcus, Nathaniel there is much we need to do in preparations for the King and
Queen coming to the mansion."
We all took our leave. Leaving Christopher and Veronica in the field.
Burning House of Love

Watching the three vampires take their leave Memphis licked my hand. Moving my eyes down to his face smiling at him
patting him on the head. Never had I been so relieved when he rose from the ground and looked at me.
Memphis had been my companion for so long, it hurt to think that I might have lost him.
Christopher reached down to pet Memphis on the head and a low growl came out of his mouth as he turned his head
from me to look at him.
"Hey now, I didn't do it. I was cheering you on the whole time Memphis." Christopher said as he held his arms up in a
defensive pose to Memphis.
Memphis let out what sounded like a humph and turned and trotted into the woods. Watching with a smile on my face;
couldn't help but giggle at how the two looked.
"He is never going to like me." Shaking his head staring after Memphis with defeat writing on his face.
"Give him time, he will warm up sooner than later." I said with a slight smirk on my face.
Christopher turned his big blue eyes towards me with a smile,"I hope it is sooner." grabbing my hand and kissing the
back of my palm.
"Shall we go to my mansion than my Queen?" He was now smiling from ear to ear as he said the last part of his
sentence.
"I don't know Christopher, I just don't know. I have been on my own for so long, I just don't know if I can handle being
around so many vampires and not kill them."
Taking my hand back from he turning to face the empty field. Not wanting to look into his eyes.
Hearing him hesitate behind not knowing what to say to me, I felt him place his hand on my shoulder from behind me.
"Veronica, I know you have been alone for so long. I know that you do not trust anyone, that it is hard for you to feel
any of the stuff that I hope you are feeling for me, but I want so badly for you to stay with me. Please will you try for
me?"
Wind blew in thrusts as if it was imitating my heart as it fluttered at his words. All them vampires could I really control
myself? I have never let anything close to me in so long besides Memphis. Could I really go there and not kill anyone? I
liked my solitude, loved my home, my cemetery and my freedom.
Christopher for a vampire has a lot of baggage.
Crossing my arms in front of my chest in frustration rain misted through the black night. Feeling him anxiously awaiting
my answer from behind me. Taking in a deep breath as turning toward him.
"I will stay tonight and the next night. Than I will make my decision."
Christopher pounced on me in a big bear hug, shocking me almost knocking me off my feet. Slowly wrapping my arms
around him.
"You will stay, I will make you not want to leave me." He said confidently, stepping back away, but keeping his arms on
my waist.
"We shall see." is all I could answer. With some skepticism in it.
"Shall we than?" Christopher asked as he took my hand to lead the way. He stared moving forward with me in his tow.
When I stopped almost pulling him backwards onto me.
"What?" He turned looking at me with his eyebrows furrowed in frustration.
Smiling looking up at him as innocent as a little school girl. "Memphis." I said like a breeze flowing through the field.
His eyes then gave understanding when hearing Memphis race through the woods to get to me.
Jumping out of the woods he was at my side sitting, looking up at me awaiting further instructions.
"Come on boy." Smirking to myself taking the lead. Leading Christopher and Memphis to the mansion through the field
as the sky lit up with the stars shining down on us and the moon smiling down.

********************************************

"Now my dear, do you remember what I told you about?"
Marissa looked half dazed as she gazed into the man in front of her. She was puzzled at the question and wasn't really
sure just how to answer him. He looked so familiar to her, she just couldn't place where she had seen him before.
Moving back a step away from him grabbing the door handle, to make her leave.
"Now Marissa you mustn't leave till you have spoke of what I just lay before you."
Still not fully understanding what he was talking about letting out a little gasp to clear her thoughts that were all jumbled
around in her head. Closing her eyes she concentrated, but all that could come to her mind was that he didn't want her
to tell anyone that he was here. That he was going to get Christopher for her and that Christopher would love her. Not
Veronica, she would be gone and that she wouldn't have to worry about her no more.
Opening her eyes she looked at the man in front of her. Studying him for the first time. What was it that was so familiar
to her? Looking at his eyes that were red, but surely they didn't stay that color, his hair was blond and he very
masculine features to his face. He wasn't very tall as she looked him up and down, but there was something about him.
The man stood watching her study him with a slight smirk on his lips. Not moving, just watching her make her mentalnote of him.
"Have you seen enough? Does that small brain in there work at all? Don't you know who I am?" the man bellowed at
her.
Marissa welted at the harsh tone of his voice, jumping back a few steps.
"Noooo...I I don't know who you are." Marissa stammered out.
Frustration crossed his face as he looked at her, shaking his head. This girl really doesn't know anything he thought.
She is so wrapped up on Christopher she can't count to two probably.
Turning he went to the window that he came in stopping inches from leaping out he turned to Marissa.
"Remember what I told you." Flinging himself out the window into the night he was gone.
Trembling Marissa ran to the window and shut it.
Who was that I do not remember anything that he said to me. He was just to weird. What in the world was he doing
here anyway? But he did say that he would make Christopher mine and he would take Veronica away if I would,
stopping and furrowing her eyebrows, what did he say that I had to do? I remember him coming in behind me.
Remember him smiling at me talking to me about Christopher and Veronica, but what did he say that I had to do to get
what I wanted?
Crossing my arms pacing my room thinking hard on the conversation that we had just had. What was it? Tapping my
finger in my lips stopping in the middle of my room eyes closed. He said that I had to?
"Marissa! Marissa!" Lily busted throw the door.
"What! What do you want I am busy leave me alone!" shouting at her from bringing me out of my thought.
"The King! Peter, Nathaniel and Marcus have all returned and they say that he is bringing his new Queen here and that
we all have to get ready and get everything in order for them!" Lily squealed.
Standing motionless in front of Lily, losing the feeling in my legs, my head started to spin, black spots darted across my
eyes.
"Marissa are you okay?" feeling someone shaking me my head throbbed, moving my hand to my head, blinking a few
times. Opening my eyes Lily was sitting on her knees next to me on my floor.
