"What happened?" Struggling to sit up, looking around the room.
"You fainted. Are you alright?"
"I fainted?"
"Yea right after I told you Christopher was coming with his new Queen."
The feeling came flying back as soon as the words left Lily's lips. His new Queen, he wasn't supposed to have any
other Queen than me! That w***e she wasn't supposed to be with my man! He was mine! Jumping up off the ground
my mind started to work as I paced the room. The words that the man had said came flooding in my mind.
"Destroy the coven, make him vulnerable. If he is the true King he will put aside all his silly emotions about Veronica
and help his coven. Burn the mansion down, make him vulnerable, and you be their to help him and help the coven.
When he sees that you were the one to help when he needed the most help he will make you his Queen. He will toss
Veronica to the side, because she will not help the others, she don't care nothing about any of them. Leave her to me I
will take care of her for you."
Yes that is what he wanted me to remember. Running out my door every vampire in the mansion was busy putting
everything in order for Christopher and Veronica to return.
"How exciting!" Lizbeth cooed. carrying flowers down the hall to the living area.
Scrunching my face up, whirling the other direction spotting Peter telling orders to the others about the table
arrangements and what glasses to use and not use.
Rolling my eyes moving through the crowd of vampires trying to get to the back of the house.
"Marissa, where are you going? Peter wants to talk to you." Lily said coming up behind me.
"I have an errand to run real quick tell him I will be back in a jiffy."
Hurrying away from her to the back door.
Opening the door stepping out into the night, it was gorgeous, the stars shown bright high up in the sky and the moon
sparkled. The big ball of fire coming from the mansion will make the night even more cozy. Now I need to get the
supplies to make the whole thing burn.
In the garage that is in the back of the mansion, moving in warp speed looking for gasoline, kerosene anything that
would help start the fire.
Finally finding some kerosene next to the back of the garage by a bunch of tools, grabbing some of the towels that
people use to clean their hands off after working on something.
Turning moving toward the door, I stopped.
What if someone actually dies besides Veronica? I don't want to hurt the others, in trying to get Christopher's attention.
What if Lily or Lizbeth died?
Momentarily, I thought about what I would do if any of them got hurt. I couldn't bare that. Leaning against one of the
many cars parked in the garage, I thought of how all of the vampires inside had always been there when ever I needed
them, not just Christopher, but Peter, Nathaniel and Marcus. They all were like my brothers. And I am standing here
contemplating on burning down their home. That man promised me that he would make Veronica leave, somehow, I didn't know what he was going to do to her
and I really didn't care. I just wanted her gone. What if I didn't do what he told me to do, if I didn't burn down our home?
He would kill me I just know he would. Squeezing the handle on the can that held the kerosene, I started out the door
to the mansion, my home, to burn it to the ground. I just hope that everyone makes it out.

Walking like a normal couple down the sidewalk toward Christopher's mansion hand in hand just taking our dog for a
walk.
Chuckling darkly to myself that we really wasn't a normal couple, but a couple that could take out an entire army, well a
couple of armies Memphis could do just as much as the two of us could.
"What are you thinking?" Christopher asked giving me a side way glance.
"That we are no ordinary couple, but to any one that looks at us we look just like a normal couple."
"Yea I guess that we would look like any other couple huh." he said with a chuckle.
I laughed with him.
The moon was glorious tonight, it hung so perfectly in the night sky giving just enough light, the stars shone like little
diamonds perched in the heavens. The wind was blowing slightly, but with the slightness of the breeze I smelt in the
breeze smoke.
Quizzically I scanned the area trying to figure out where the smell was coming from. Memphis perked up on the scent
as well, he eyed me as his nose went into over time trying to find the smell as well. "What is it?" Christopher asked
taking in my expression as well as Memphis's frantic smelling around. "You don't smell that?" Closing my eyes I focused
just on the scent of smoke. It was coming from the direction that we were walking in I opened up all my senses trying to
pick up whatever I could when I heard it. Peter was giving orders to all the vampires in the mansion to get them out
before the fire took out everything. My eyes shoot open. The mansion was on fire, Chritopher's home! "We got to get to
your place! It is on fire!" I shouted taking off in a sprint with Memphis and Christopher on my heels.
The closer we got the smell and smoke intensified, I could hear the screams the panic as everyone was running around
trying to get away from the fire. As we turned the corner there it was Christophers home up in flames and his clan out in
front standing away watching helplessly. Christopher stopped at the sight I kept moving walking right up to the gate and
watched and concentrated on rain. Remembering when I was the saddest in all the time I have been alive. The rain
started to fall slowly at first but, the more I thought the harder the rain fell, droplets the size of golf balls fell from the
heavens. Watching the fire was dwindling down to nothing the fire was stopping, sirens could be heard coming up the
street. Closing my eyes I thought about Memphis he always made me happy, the night that I brought him to stay with me
forever a smile pulled at my lips and the rain died.
Breathing heavily grasping my chest the pain that I felt there was almost to great I hadn't thought about her in so long. I
had to leave I didn't want to show this weakness in front of any of them so I ran. I heard my name being yelled, but I
didn't care I had to leave had to go. I just couldn't face anyone right now. All I could think about was Adaline. The rain
had started again for I just couldn't help picturing her face, her sweet little angelic face, her diamond eyes that were so
innocent. Her bouncing curls, her little button nose, her soft little rosy cheeks. She had been mine, she was my angel,
she was the only thing that made since in the world so very very long ago. She was my daughter.
I ran till I reached the ocean, stopping on the beach I was heaving in and out. My breath catching in my throat, my
insides were shaking, the outside was shaking just as bad as my insides. My heart felt like it was going to puncture my
ribs burst through at any giving second. Falling to the ground pulling my knees to my chest I rocked back and forth.
The sky turned black the winds howled around me waves came crashing on the shore, rain falling in a frenzy, as I tried
to pull myself together. If I didn't I would have a hurricane on my hands. Memphis nudged me with his nose giving a little
whine. Resting my hand on his head, I pulled him closer and just held onto him like he was an anchor. Oh sweet God
make the pain end.

"Peter! Is everyone out of the mansion?" I just couldn't believe my eyes. I leave for a few hours and my home is up in
flames. The firefighters had arrived and was putting out what was left of the flames. Veronica had done most of it.
"Yes I am sure that everyone was out of the mansion My Lord."
"How did this happen? How did the fire start?"
"I don't know my Lord, but I will try and find out what has happened."
"Don't try! I want you to do." I growled. Peter nodded taking off to see if he could fond out what had happened.
My clan was staring at me with wide eyes, they all was waiting on me to tell them what to do, where to go. They was
looking to me for assistance. Honestly I didn't know what to tell a one of them to do. I know I looked just as
dumfounded as they did standing in the rain watching our home burn.
"Let's go." turning I walked past the fireman the ambulance drivers, to the only place that I knew of that would giveus shelter from the approaching sunlight. The old man moved with ease as my fellow clan dipped down the hall to
Veronica's home. No doubt she would be furious and mad as hell to come home to this, but I didn't have any choice of
the matter. The sun was rising and we had no place to go. Shocked that she hadn't sent a burst of air to send us all
back on our asses from entering, I put the man back atop the grave.
Slowly walking down the hallway, I hear nothing coming from the end of the hall. Has she killed them all!!! Sprinting now
crashing through the door I find them all sitting around the room, some scared, mad and some just plain lost looking at
me. "She's not here My Lord." Peter's voice came from beside me. "Not here?" I said like a twit staring at Peter. "No
My Lord, she's not here." Running my hand through my hair turning looking up the hall, nothing not her nor Memphis is
around. Where is she? Did she know that I would bring them here? Why isn't she here? The sun is just about to rise!
Feeling a hand on my arm, Peter shook his head, madness that is what he is thinking right now that I am completely
mad! "Tonight" Peter breathed turning to take a chair next to the door. Giving him a nod and closing the door, I noticed
that all the other clan members had lay out for the day. Laying on the bed where this very night Veronica and I shared a
memory that I will never never forget ever, thinking about where she might be drifting out of consciences.
