Forever Isn't Always

Chapter 16

‘’Good morning'' John said as he came in th dining hall

‘’Good morning'' Lisa and I said in unison then giggled. 

‘’Good morning John'' dad said after us as John sat at his right side.

He looked like he he had been rolling in his bed all night. His hair was ruffled and he didn't look like he was totally here.

‘’Are you ok?'' I couldn't help but ask him

‘’Yeah, I'm fine'' he said after swallowing the bread he had in his mouth then grinned.

‘’OK'' I said but didnt beleive him so I kept glancing at him but whenever I met his eyes I would look away. To anyone watching I must have looked like a creep or a weirdo. John and Lisa finished their meals in silence while my dad and I caught up on each other's lives. I had found out that he loved soup and the color red. There wasn't much that he told me that I didn't already know.  I told him that I liked the colors green and blue.

My dad was the first to excuse himself, saying that he had a meeting. The Lisa left after saing that she needed some rest. So it was John and I were the only ones left. I didn't kknow what to say and I didn't think he knew either.

‘’So you're the one who is going to train me?'' I asked trying to start a conversation

‘’Yeah, I am'' he replied and continued eating

‘’Have you trained anyone before'' I asked again

‘’I have trained some of our soldiers but not many, just a few''

‘’Oh, ok'' I said. I didn't know whether he liked me or not or if he just didn't like talking to me or if that was how he was. So I excused myself and left him at the table. On my way out I collided with a lady who had very dark raven colored shoulder lenght hair and amber colored eyes. She was wearing a long black gown that was a bit too tight at the top and got flared gradually from the waist down. She had a silk black scarf with her and had pale skin with rosy cheeks. She had high cheek boned and cat eyes. She had Pink not so plum lips but it wasn't thin either. She seemed five foot five and I was a bit taller than her by an inch or two.

‘’I'm sorry'' I said helping her up. 

‘’You should look where you are going next time, are you blind?'' She said very rudely

‘’What do you mean by that. You also were'nt looking where you're going. I should be asking you that but I won't cause unlike you. I am not rude'' I said and walked away. Maybe I shouldn't have said what I did, but she also shouldn't have said that. It wasn't my fault I thought as I walked into my room.

After a couple of hours of doing absolutely nothing except reading, I got bored and decided maybe I should go for training since there was nothing better to do.I changed into my training outfit and went to see Jack in his room as he was my trainer.

I walked into his room without thinking and forgot to knock. As I walked into the room, I felt a sense of dread and embarassment fill me as I saw John snuggled up with the lady I had collided with earlier. Confusion tore me in two as I couldn't decide whether to meet them or go out as they were asleep. I guess they looked cute together as her hair covered half her face as John held he waist fast asleep. I didn't know why I was sad and angry…he never told me that he had feelings for me and I could see why he chose her.

Maybe I hadn't read the lines correctly. Maybe I was too blinded by my own emotions.

I walked out of the room silently so they didn't notice that I was there. As I closed the door to his room, I walked absent mindly and rushed to my room as I started getting blurry vision due to the tears in my eyes. I didn't want anyone to see the tears in my eyes so I made it to my room and shut the door right in time as I felt warm tears roll down my cheeks as I collapsed on the ground weeping. I felt myself getting hotter by the minute and I knew I had to control myself.

 I stood up and decided not to cry about a guy who hadn't told me that he liked and who didn't even know I had feelings for him.  I changed into a more comfortable simple gown and fell asleep on the bed.

‘’Clara? Clara!'' I heard Lisa's voice as I opened my eyes.

‘’What?'' I said grumbling as I looked up at her, she was leaning, looking over me.

‘’I've been trying to wake you up. What were you dreaming about?Look at the drool on your face'' She said giggling as she went into a sitting position on my bed.

‘’Stop giggling, It's not funny.'' I said sitting up and using my palms to wipe my face.

‘’John was looking for you to train'' she said now more sober

‘’What did you tell him?'' I said trying to act like I didn't care

‘’I told him you were asleep'' She said now smilng.

‘’Why are you smilng?'' I said 

‘’Cause I noticed he felt down about not having to spend some time with you, even if it's just training'' she said making eye contact with me

‘’Doesn't he have other thing to do?' I said putting emphasis on ‘other’ and standing up from the bed and went to change back to my training outfits.

‘’What do you mean?'' she said, still on my bed. But I could hear the curiousity in her voice. I kept her waiting for a while until I finished changing and then went to sit back on the bed next to her.

Then I said, ‘’I saw-'' I paused as my voice started to break and a tear or two rolled down my cheek for something I couldn't explain.

‘’Oh, sweetie. I'm sorry,you don't have to say it now'' she said as she hugged me and I leaned into her. 

‘’-I saw him with someone else Lisa'' I continued and then burst into tears. 

Lisa cradled me and then whispered to me,''It'll be okay'' while caressing my hair.

And then I sat up and wiped my tears before saying, ‘’You know you have to train now, right'' I said as I had noticed a few streaks of purple in her hair and a few dots in her eyes which I was sure she would have noticed.

‘’What do you mean?'' she said

‘’If you didn't know, last night when the tentacles came out of my body and touched you , it gave you some of my power, so now you are half fae and you need to try it.'' I said and looked at her supportingly as I could see she was a bit unsure
