Forever Isn't Always

Chapter 14

As I peered into my wardrobe I was lost. I didn't know what to wear! I felt like a mouse dressed up in a cat's costume. Suddenly a knock on the door distracted me from my thoughts. I opened the door to see who it is and when I saw who it was I burst into tears. 

‘’Lisa!'' I cried as she burst into tears too. I couldn't believe my eyes as I hugged her

‘’Lisa I am so sorry for what happened to Arthur'' I said coming out of the embrace and continued weeping  

‘’Its ok Clara, John told me everything. He told me that you needed and missed me so I came'' She said, she was weeping too.

‘’But…your baby. Its my fault, maybe if I didn't leave, nothing would have happened to him''

‘’Its noy your fault Clara. I and Arthur had known that there was a chance that this day would come and even if nothing happened that night, something could have happened some other day in war. I am just glad that John was able to save you, my baby needs its godmother.'' she said trying to godmother

‘’You're making me your baby's godmother?'' I said wiping the tears off my face and looking at her

She wiped her tears and said, ‘’Really. Now lets get you ready and show everyone what you are made of.''

She styled my hair and did my make up first. Then she went into my wardrobe and brought out a gorgeous blue dress. It was a tulle figure hugging dress that was free passed my knees. It was armless and showed off my assets. My hair was done in a ponytail and a few curls were left out. I forcd Lisa to dress up too and come out with me.

So she wore an A line tulle  flower designed dress that didn't restrict her movements and some n0t so high heels. She put her hair up in a bun and had light makeup.

We heard a knock on the door and I went to get it while Lisa made sure that she was ready.

There was John outside our door, looking as dashing as what I imagined heaven would look like. He was wearing a blue and white fitted designed tux that showed his chiseled muscles. He wore boots and had tied his hair in a tight bun that allowed me to see nothing on his face but his eyes. I was so distracted by his looks that I forgot he was talking to me.

‘’Clara are you listening?'' He said

‘’Yeah, I am. I just got a bit distracted''. I said

‘’I asked if you were ready?'' I glanced at Lisa and saw that she was ready so I said, ‘’Yes.''

‘’Ok, follow me'' He said putting my arm in his and I blushed slightly.

‘’We shouldn't forget Lisa'' I said

‘’Oh, she's coming?''

‘’Of course'' I said and at that moment Lisa came into the room and John held her by his left arm.

As we walked down the stairs I could feel every fae's eyes on me. I kind of had weak knees at that point when we got to the middle of the stair case.

‘’Don't be scared, It'll be fine'' John said squeezing my arm. It did make me feel better and I smiled at him as we walked down the stairs. 

My father was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs. I knew from experience that it was the father daughter dance first. I was filled with dread because I wasn't a great dancer and I didn't know what style of dancing the fae did. But I decided to not panic for the sake of my dad.

As we reached the bootom of the stairs John handed me over to my dad who put his arm in mine, while John stayed back with Lisa.

‘’Just so you know I am not very good at dancing'' I said as we  walked to the middle of the ballroom.

‘’Me neither, I guess you got that from my side of the family'' He said and chuckled.

‘’It's not funny, what if I step on your toes?'' I insisted

‘’That's for the humans to worry about'' he said smirking

‘’You've forgotten that I am human''

‘’And I know that you are also fae'' he said as we bowed and curtsied for the dance to begin then he continued,

‘’You just have to feel the rhytm and move to it. Everything here, incuding dance,has magic. You just have to feel it and let go''

I tried letting go of my thoughts and feeling the music. It felt like I was floating but with my feet on the ground. It felt heavenly. It was just how I felt in my garden. I looked down at my feet to make sure that I was really dancing. I was but to my surprise,we were floating!

I looked up at my dad with a surprised look on my face, I couldn't beleive it.

‘’How are you doing this?'' I asked him

‘’I didn't, you did'' he said now grinning. That made me even more shocked. We had gone about a foot and a half above the ground and I was starting to hear murmurs from the crowd. I glaced at John and Lisa,they were just as surprised

‘’Doesn't this happen very often''

‘’No, not really. It is very rare for it to come naturally and even more rare for a person to do it without meaning to. I guess you got a lot of things from my side of the family'' he said smiling

The music ended and I could see a burst of flowers from our feet so I looked at my dad who gave me a wink that said he had done that. He got us to the ground again as I didn't know how. But as my feet hit the ground, I felt a surge of power run through my body almost knocking me of my feet. I then saw golden like tentacles grow out of my body and touch every fae there including my dad and John, even Lisa who looked surprised. Then it retreated back into me and I felt fine again. I didn't know what happend so I looked at my dad who bowed to me. Thenevery other fae there, including Lisa who followed suit and took a knee. I was so overwhelmed but I decided out of instict to curtsey and everyone rose up, and went to enjoy the party.

‘’What just happened?'' I asked my dad

‘’You just shared a bit of your power with everyone'' he said looking proud‘

‘’Even Lisa?'' I asked confused, cause I knew she was human

‘’Yes, she is now half fae. Even the life she carries in her will be half fae'' he said then continued ‘’I believe there is someone who wants to dance with you'' looking behind me

I turned round and saw John

‘’May I have the pleasure of one dance?'' he said smiling and outstretching his hand

‘’Of course'' I said giving him mine

I had a nice time with John that night as we danced and even got drunk. Lisa found someone to dance with and she was able to think of something positive tonight, but she didn't drink because of the baby though.
