Forever Isn't Always

Chapter 18

I went into the room and picked up a book to calm myself down but then fell asleep on my bed even though I wasn't tired. I woke up inn a dark forest…oh how I was tired of forests now. I looked around but I couldn't see anyone. I walked forward but I still couldn't find anyone. I walked for what seemed like hours but the forest didn't seem to have an end in sight…it seemed endless. I started getting shivers down my spine and it felt like there were hands creeping up my body but I couldn't see them, I started to get afraid. I started wondering where everyone was. I got scared of the hands crawling up my body but they didn't leave me so I stopped. I turned around trying to find which way to go but I got dizzy. I sat down by a tree, trying to get some rest so I could start my journey again and then I felt hands grab both my wrists.

‘’Aaaaaah!'' I screamed then looked at my hands and saw that they were vines not hands, I tried struggling hoping that they'd free me but they only held tighter. Then I felt one tighten around my waist and then I screamed again.

‘’Aaaaaaah! Someone help me'' I shouted and wept but no-one came, I tried using my powers but it didn't work. I tried again and burn one which retreated but another one came and grabbed my wrists band I couldn't seem to use my powers agin. The one on my waist got tighter and felt like I was being suffocated. I tried screaming again hoping someone would help'

‘’Aaaaah! Someone help. I don't want to die!'' but no body came. I started weeping and wailing and the I felt on grab me around my throat and another round my forehead. I struggled and screamed but another one gagged me and I couldn't say anything. I felt the one round my throat and wrists become tighter, I struggled but nothing happened and I was becoming weak, I couldn't breathe. This was the end I thought, nothing can save me now and then I blacked out

I woke up and immediated closed my eyes due to the piercing bright light that I saw. I squinted a bit and saw that there were people around me. Was I dead? I thought and then I opened my eyes fully as they were now adjusted to the light.

‘’She's awake!'' I heard a voice say and I two women coming towards me. They seemed to be nurses,and they were dressed in a plain,simple, all white gown. 

‘’How are you feeling?'' They both said in unison schocking me by their identical voice and looks. Then I remembered learning about identical twins when I was little, but they just seemed creepy. I gathered myself together and then said, ‘’I'm fine. Where am I?'' 

They both ignored my question and then started whispering to each other about something and I felt totally ignored and embarassed. 

‘’Excuse me'' I said hoping to get their attention but they continued whispering to each other and then they turned to me sayng in unison again

‘’You have to meet the queen, she is the mistress of this place and wishes to see you'' They pulled me up from the bed and then peered at me, that was when I noticed that they were fae. They were dark girls with black and green curly, waist lenght hair. They also had emerald green eyes. Then they continued in unison saying,

‘’Follow us'' I was getting seriously creeped out by their saying everything in Unison but I decided to follow them because I didn't know anything about where I was and where the way out was. I followed them both down a lonely hallway. The hallway seemed to be filled with dread, walking down it made me feel unnaturally sad.

Even the twins seemed quiet as we walked down the hallway. We turned right into a room and the atmosphere lifted drastically and I wasn't sad anymore. The twins signaled to me to wait at the door and I did. I heard the talking to what I figured to be a woman because of the voice. The twins came back to me and said,

‘’You can go in now'' in unison and then smiling creepily before leaving. I walked into the room slowly and carefully beacuse I didn't know what to expect. I suddednly became concious of my myself and checked to make sure I was dressed and clean and I didn't know why. I was wearing a plain white gown too and my hair was all oveer the place and I was wearing slippers. I tried to neaten my hair up a bit as I entered the room.

I saw the back of a lady standing by a window. She had long gold hair like mine and seemed to be my height. She had a crown on her head and was wearing a big golden etravagant gown. I suddenly felt even more concious of myself for some reason. She turned around and looked at me. She had a striking resemblance to me, she had golden colored eyes like mine and also had my rosy colored cheeks but unlike my plump thin lips, she had thin pink lips but she was very beautiful. She looked like she was in her mid thirties.

‘’Hi Clara'' she said in a melodic tone of voice

‘’How do you know my name?'' I asked now concentrating on what she was saying

‘’You could at least greet me giving my royal status and the fact that I saved your life'' she said sternly. I remembered how I almost died in the forest and knew I should be respectful to a queen. 

‘’I'm sorry'' I apologised and continued ‘’Hello and thankyou for saving my life your majesty'' I said and courtsied

‘’Good, now, I know your name because it would be irresponsinble of any grandmother to not know the name of their garandchild'' she said and paused examining me. She was my grandma? I thought. Like how old was she anyway I thought even though I wa sa bit excited and I remembered how old my dad looked.

‘’You're my grandmother'' I said still surprised. 

‘’Yes and as much as I would love to bond with you, we dont have the time for it now'' she said and sighed sadly

‘’What do you mean?'' I asked confused and worried

‘’Your uncle is getting out of hand and needs to be stopped. He has killed many people and is still kiling people. He even had your adopted father imprisoned now and he was the one who tried to kill you in that forest and you would have been dead if not for my intervention'' she said and sat down on a chair then she ponted at one for me to sit and when I did,I desperately and worriedly said

‘’We have to rescue him'' and she continued by sayinvg

‘’And we will, at least your father will help with that. I have sent him a message already. Even after we rescue him, it won't put and end to him. You will go with the men on the rescue mission next week with them becuase you are the only one who can stop him.'' she said

‘’What do you mean?'' I asked confused and afraid

‘’You have to use your power to destroy the magic core under neath his castle and I am sorry that it has to be you. If I could do it, I would'' she said and looked away. Now I was very worried and even more confused

‘’But since it is only to destroy the core, what are you sorry for?'' I asked

‘’Because the process will take out every ounce of magic in you which will drive you comatose.''

‘’How long will I be comatose for?'' I asked as a tear rolled down my eye

‘’About ten to twenty years'' she said ‘’I'm sorry''

‘' I don't think I can do this'' I said standing up. Being in a coma was like dying to me, I didn't know how I would age. I was twenty two now and in another ten or twenty years I'd be thirty or fourty two and my prime age would have passed me by. And then my guts seemed to eat me up and I became guilty thinking about the man who raised me and all the people who could die. At least I would wake up again. But I still didn't want to be comatose

‘’I knew you would say that, hold my hand for a minute'' she said and took hold of my mind and our surroundings seemed to disintegrate and new surroundings appeared.  I was in the past I thought and glanced at her, I could see her eyes getting watery. 

I got distracted when a man in armour enter the room with his sword drawn out. 

‘’That is your uncle, the day he killed your grandfather. One of his first of many guiltless kills'' She said and I could hear the emotion in her voice. I saw my uncle stride to the other side of the room and then I saw my grand father with a book in his lap as he sat on his bed. When grandpa noticed him, I could see the confusion and shock on his face as he was stabbed. Alibe watched grandpa die and didn't show any sign of remorse. I saw him step out of the room with his b****y sword as Grandma Melissa came into the room. She looked at Aedan and then at the sword with disbeleif, disappointment and confusion on her face. 

‘’Aedan,what did you do?'' she said but he left before she could get an answer. 

‘’No!'' she shouted as she came into view of his body. She ran over to him and held him and wept.

‘’Now let me show you something else.'' Grandma said distracting me from scenes of the past.

We were somewhere else again. In the same dark forest I was in and almost died.

I saw a lady who looked exactly like me but had had dark colored hair, kneeling in the middle of the forest.

‘’Your mother, she was killed by Alibe for being human'' Grandma said as I continued watching my mum pray

‘’I thought she died of the flu?''

‘’Do you really think someone as powerful in the arts would die of a flu. That was just used as a cover story for your adoptive dad'' she said. I focused on my mum again. Alibe had appeared and was now talking to my mum.

‘’Why are you doing this Alibe? Answer me'' she said in a commanding tone.

‘’You know why. You are filth that my brother is involved with and I can't let you ruin your lineage. After you, maybe I'll focus on your daughter after.'' He replied

‘’Don't you touch my daughter'' she said

‘’Or what?'' But she didn't live to reply him as he broke her neck.

We were now back in Grandma's room

She was about to open her mouth and speak but I interrupted and said,

‘’You don't have to say anything, I'm going to help''

‘’Great'' she said and smiled.

‘’But I don't know anything about magic, I was supposed to meet Jasmine and let her figure out my other powers, and then train with John''

‘’No need for that, I can just give you the things you need''  and she touched my head. I suddenly got a wave of memories of different kinds of magic and also what I needed to do when I got to Aedan's castle. 

‘’Thank you'' I said

‘’Yeah, I guess I have to send you back now. We'll have our bonding another time hopefully.''

‘’Yeah, hopefully''

 She then touched my head and I took a big gasp as I woke up back in my room. I looked around as I was alone.
