The Escape

1096 Words
The night has continued to drag on. Poor Marcus watches Willa and I from afar, and I just feel terrible that my father is making me put my friends through this. No one deserves to be told what to do all the time. The two of them are so in love it hurts me to look at them. Maybe it's a bit of jealous, but I mean what am I to do none of them see me for who I am. Just what I am and where I should be in a year. "Zander, your doing it again." She looks at me with concern. "Sorry, you know me always thinking." "Yeah, you're always stuck in that head of yours." "I'm sorry I'm putting you through so much pain." "Well, if were anyone else I think I'd be in pain. But since it's you I think I'll manage. Who knows maybe you'll find true love when you leave." She winks at me. I smile back and gester with a finger over my mouth "shhhhh." She just smiles and shakes her head. I really do love Willa, she's my best friend since we were little. No one could replace her. We kissed once and it was awful for the both of us. "So what time are you planning?" She askes and pulls me back again. "I don't know. I know I'll need coverage from the sun." "Yeah, I think I have something to help with that." I raise an eyebrow at her. She always has dome trick up her sleeve. I wonder what she has that could possibly protect me from the sun. We have heavily tinted windows now that are pressure sealed. And some are still sensitive to that. She just laughs. "You'll see." Out of the corner of my eye I see dad approaching. I never have a minute of piece anymore. Even if Willa wasn't in love with Marcus. I wouldn't have privacy to woo her. He's always right there in the background watching me like a hawk. "Zander, Willa, how are you two enjoying the ball?" "Well sir, you've truly out done yourself it's beautiful in here." I think to myself suck up. I mean who could blaim her one wrong move and dad will shun her. "It's fine, but it would be great if Willa and I could go and spend some quality time together. Father." He smiles. "Ah I see, well I don't see why that's an issue. Go you two go have a good evening." "Thanks Dad." We rush for the door Willa motions for Marcus to follow. He knods in response. Five minutes later he's right behind us. "So you two what's the grand plan?" "Well Marcus, you and Willa are going to help me escape." He shouts. "What! Escape!?! No way not happening we'll get caught and your father will have all our heads." Willa responds. "Well we just won't get caught baby. We have to help him. If we don't you and I will never be together again." "So Willa, what do you have that will help me with the sun light?" Marcus busts out laughing. "Oh your gonna love this." I look to both of them with a raised eyebrow. These two have always found away to prank me I'm sure what ever she has is ridiculous. At this point I don't even care as long as it works. We make it to Willa's house. She rushes us inside and goes straight to her closet. Oh no now I remember exactly what she has that blocks the sun light. The pink fluffy dress her mother made her for when the moved her because hunterd found their last location. She brings it out and it's even worse than I remember. "Willa no way can I wear that!" "Sorry buddy, your options are low." "I don't think it will fit." "Yes I have a plan for that if it doesn't. Now get back there and try it on." Marcus just laughs. I shoot him the "tell anyone and you die" look. "Sorry bud, but it's still hilarious. But I bet you look fabulous." I look to Willa. "There has to be a better option." "Nope, sorry. Now get back there girlfriend." As she burst with laughter. The things a man will do to escape the overbearing father. I wish my mother was still alive maybe she could enlighten him. She was the only one that understood my Outlook on love. No one should be forced to marry someone they don't love. Humans are the worst about it the marry due to a birth of a child and meet their soulmate later in life and then their stuck because of a child. I refuse to let my father control my heart it just can't happen. I get the dress on barely. Jeez this thing is hidious looks worse on then off. I can't believe I'm stopping to these levels, but I have to know is my true love out there and I'm just stuck here because of an old family fued. I'm covered head to toe and the Vail is just icing on the cake. When I get back if I do I'm so buying this hidious thing. And having a new one made for Willa. "Well, did you get your bug butt into it or not Zander?" "Haha, very funny. Willa just marry me so I don't have to wear this hanous thing." Marcus responds. "Sorry bud, no can do I love this girl yo much." "Now, now boys we've got work to do." Willa covers every hole so there's no chance of the sun getting through. I'm really starting to second guess this idea. What if I do meet my soulmate how will I explain this pink dress? Once I'm all packed and ready we set off towards the forget wall. "I wish you didn't have to go Zander. I'm going to miss you so much! I love you big brother!" Marcus chimes in. "Awe, don't worry babe he'll be back before you know it." "I love you guys too. Don't worry I'll call every chance I get. Until my phone dies." I wipe a tear from Willa's eye and hug them both tightly. "Love you too. Be good!" I set off into the woods and wave goodbye. Well it begins, the serach is on. Hopefully I'm not gone to long my dad might find a new son to take over. Man I'm gonna miss the safety of home. Hopefully I don't get caught by any hunters or witches.
