Chapter 5. Jake wasn't really having any luck in English Class the next morning although last night he kept telling himself that the second day wouldn't be as bad as the first, he thought wrong for he just couldn't stop looking at how the way Mr. Calloway's muscles were slightly moving underneath his white shirt while he was writing down the required assignment on the blackboard. His eyes traveled down towards his firm ass as he soon bit his bottom lip trying to really focus on what the elder was saying as well as trying to get the naughty thoughts out of his head. "Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker!" Yelled the red headed Instructor as Jacob soon perked up out from his daydreaming as the whole class was staring at him while he looked around confused. Mr. Calloway on the other hand, was slightly perturbed as he had his hands on his hips while tapping his foot in slight impatience which only made the jet black haired teen to gulp quietly wondering what he had missed. "Yes Mr. Calloway, I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't paying attention, what were you saying?" Emerald green eyes only rolled as he then sighed asking him to recite a poem that they had learned from the Sophmore year as Jacob turned slightly pink. He didn't even practice the poem that he was suppose to do from late last night due to his many thoughts and dreams on the said teacher that he definitely forgot to study; seeing that he was getting nowhere with his student, the Instructor soon called upon another classmate to come up to the board to do the task at hand. Jake looked on somewhat ashamed; he didn't think it would end up like this for real; here he was only here on the second day, and he was already messing things up as it is. This wasn't how he wanted to start the School year. Everyone soon snickered at him as the bell finally rang thus letting the students leave, but before they could set their foot out the door, Mr. Calloway soon made an announcement. "To start the School year off right, your assignment will be to write an essay about a topic that you feel really relates to how society makes you feel and what you can do to help improve or prevent it from happening any further. This essay will be at least 5 to 7 pages long as well as count toward 80% of your grade and you will be having the next two weeks to get it done. Class Dismissed." And everyone left leaving only Jake alone as Mel told him that she would see him later in History Class. Nodding, he soon watched her leave then scanning over towards Mr. Calloway who was erasing off of the board; he wanted to say something, anything to let him know and to make it perfectly clear that he didn't mean to be so preoccupied, but he wasn't going to blurt out that he had been ogling him the entire time-that would be over the top embarrassing indeed. Finally, with much courage, thus gripping the strap of his backpack tightly, he soon made it over towards the desk as he watched the way how the grown man was using his long arm to reach the corner with ease getting the hard to reach place to take off the remaining written chalk word. He slightly licked his tad chapped lips as feeling the presence of one of his students, the attractive male quickly turned around and smiled genuinely towards the teen boy who instantly began to blush a tint of pink knowing that he had been caught staring-again thus quickly locking his gaze towards the floor. This had made the older one a little confused while raising an eyebrow as he asked the boy if he was alright and if there was anything he needed help with that he didn't understand. He shook his head not trusting himself to tell the truth just yet as he didn't want to sound stupid in front of the man who soon nodded. "Well Mr. Parker, if there is anything at all that you need assistance in, do not ever hesitate to come to me and ask; that's what I'm here for." He smiled his warm smile yet again while Jake only nodded not trusting his voice for even a second then leaving without a word causing the Calloway male to stare after him in concern wondering what was bothering him but soon shrugged it off soon continuing onto his task thinking that it was just a phase that some teenagers were going through these days. Where: Mel's House. Time: 3:34 P.M. "WHAT!? are you serious?" Mel asked while she had taken the cookies out of the oven once Jake had finished explaining about what was going on as his face was slightly pink. The African-American female shook her head from side to side and tsked realizing that her friend was really having it bad thus placing two chocolate chip cookies on a plate along with a glass of milk as well as placing it beside his textbooks that he was studying from. "Jesus Jake, this is definitely not a phase at all, you really are having the hots for him; are you ever going to tell him the truth or what?" "It's not that easy as you make it out to be Mel, this is his second day teaching, and damn it! staring at his butt was one of them; oh yeah, that's real normal indeed." He replied sarcastically as he took a bite of his snack while Mel had her hands on her hips. "Don't get snappy with me Mr. Gay, you're so lucky that I have not even blurt out your secret to anybody-not yet anyway. Besides, it's not like he knows you were making googly eyes while looking like a lovesick puppy." "Shut up." "What? it's the truth. Jake, just face the facts, you are having the hots for Mr. Calloway for God's sake and don't blame this on "rampaging hormones." Mel said as she made air quotes just to get Jacob to open his eyes who then sighed realizing that it was true; but he just couldn't help himself. Mr. Calloway was just so handsome and looked mesmerizingly hot indeed, but he knew there would be problems if they were ever to get together. What was he thinking? He knew that it would never happened not only with the age difference, but with them being guys as well and he wouldn't want to be the cause of the man losing his job just to have a forbidden relationship and besides, what if he wasn't gay? what if he had a girlfriend? What if he was already married instead? Or what if he was gay and already had a partner? So many questions and negative aspects that he didn't even hear Mel speaking to him as the snap of her fingers brought him back to reality. "Huh? What?" He asked. "Look Jake, I can see and understand on what you're going through at this point, but what I can suggest is that you need to tone down your love sickness before it really goes out of hand. You don't want to give him the impression that something is bothering you." He nodded tirelessly as he soon flipped a page not really paying attention to what he was reading. "Yeah, I guess you're right, but how am I suppose to do that?" Mel thought for a moment, then pretty soon, an idea came into her head. "I heard that the School Newspaper is looking for a Journalist to be a part of the Advice Column, you always said you wanted to strengthen your horizons to be a Novelist right? It can be your way of letting your emotions out and not having to feel threaten to bottle them in; plus, it could help you to get your mind off of him in the meantime." The words rolled around within his head as he thought for a good minute, then it suddenly dawned on him and he soon grinned knowing just how right she was. But there was also a downside to it, he needed to get started on his paper and it was due in a couple of weeks; how was he going to be a part of the paper and work on his own assignment at the same time? "Look, the weekend is coming up right? Once you get up and do what you have to do, then you can always start on it." "But I promised Alex that I would go to the movies with him, he and I have been looking forward to it for the past few months." "So, you can get an early start, then when you get home, you can add more." Jake smiled knowing just how much Mel was looking out for him. If this was the way to not think about his teacher, then he was geared up for it.
