Episode1
The Forsaken Woods were alive with the gentle swaying of leaves and distant howls. Tucked away in its rogue-ridden depths was a small cabin shrouded in perpetual mist—Selene’s refuge from the horrors of her past.
Selene Nightbane, a fierce warrior with flowing raven hair and golden wolf-like eyes, observed her son as he played with a wooden toy he had crafted. Luca, embodying his mother’s spirit and his father’s striking blue eyes, illuminated her otherwise shadowy existence. At only five years old, he possessed wisdom beyond his age, often dreaming of meeting his father yet fearful of the beast that might reside within him.
“Momma, look!” Luca exclaimed, breaking her reverie as he proudly showcased the toy, his eyes sparkling with childlike glee. Selene felt a pang in her heart. She had fought tirelessly to shield him from the cursed Blackwood Pack Territory and the man who had once broken her heart—Killian Thorn.
Five years had passed since that disastrous night when Killian, her destined mate, had publicly rejected her. His icy blue gaze had been unyielding, his harsh words cutting deep. She had fled in shame, swearing never to return, but destiny had other ideas.
“Tell me again about the good wolves, Momma,” Luca asked curiously.
Selene sighed and sat next to him. “The good wolves, sweetheart, are brave and compassionate. They protect their pack and cherish their family above all.”
“Like you, Momma?” Luca's eyes were wide with admiration.
Selene smiled gently, brushing a wayward strand of hair from his face. “Yes, just like me. And like your father, once.”
“Was Daddy a good wolf?” The question hung between them, heavy with the purity of childhood.
Selene's smile faltered slightly. “He was... once. But sometimes even good wolves stray.”
In the heart of Blackwood, turmoil consumed Killian’s kingdom. The once-mighty Alpha had become a mere shadow, haunted by whispers of the Blood Alpha, a sinister force threatening to engulf him. His black hair fell over his eyes as he gripped the ancient throne, struggling to regain control.
From the shadows, Damon Black, his Beta and former confidant, observed. Damon’s loyalty had long been compromised, driven by ambition to betray the Alpha he once pledged to serve. Aware of the prophecy and the power contained within Luca’s blood, he was determined to see it realized.
“Alpha,” Damon called, stepping into the dim light. “The rogues are becoming restless. We must act.”
Killian’s icy gaze snapped to Damon, a flicker of his old authority momentarily reappearing. “We’ll act when I decree it,” he growled, his tone low and threatening.
Damon countered with a smirk, pretending to bow in submission. “Of course, Alpha.”
As Damon turned away, a sinister grin crossed his face, reveling in the chaos that was about to unfold. The prophecy would soon be a reality, ushering in his own rise to power.
Back in the Forsaken Woods, fear washed over Selene when she realized her location had been compromised. She had taken great pains to hide in the forgotten corners of Mysthaven, but the rogue wolves were relentless. Now, she had no choice but to return to the one place she had vowed never to revisit.
Steeling herself, Selene prepared to confront her past. Protecting Luca was her priority, no matter the danger. As they traversed the haunted woods toward Blackwood, memories of her bond ceremony with Killian resurfaced—love, betrayal, and anguish flooding her mind.
“Tell me again about the bond ceremony,” Luca asked during their journey. “What happened?”
Selene hesitated, grief tugging at her heart. “It was a night full of promise. I was to become the Luna of the Blackwood Pack, beside your father. But... things went awry.”
“Why did Daddy reject you?” Luca’s innocent question pierced her.
Selene let out a soft sigh, her voice barely audible. “Sometimes people act against their will, controlled by something—or someone—more powerful.”
Luca nodded, sensing his mother’s sorrow. “But you’re stronger now, right Momma?”
“Yes, my love. I am,” Selene affirmed, her resolve firming. “And I will always protect you.”
As they neared the Blackwood Pack Territory, the mist thickened, and the dark woods loomed ominously. Selene’s heart raced with a mixture of dread and determination. Confronting Killian was essential; she needed his help to save their son.
The Blackwood Territory felt as foreboding as she remembered, with tall, gothic castles casting long shadows across the ground. The air was thick with the scents of pine and earth, intermingling with distant smoke.
“Stay close, Luca,” Selene urged, tightening her grip on his hand. “We’re almost there.”
They reached the edge of the territory, where the mist was almost impenetrable. As Selene’s heart raced at the sight of the towering gates of Blackwood, memories flooded back, but she forced herself to concentrate on the present.
Just as they were about to step in, a figure emerged from the mist—Damon Black. Selene’s breath caught as surprise and amusement flickered in his dark eyes.
“Well, look who’s back,” Damon mocked, his voice thick with malice. “The rejected Luna.”
Selene squared her shoulders, her golden wolf eyes shining with resolve. “I’m here to see Killian. We need to talk.”
Damon chuckled, shaking his head. “You think you can just waltz back in here after all this time? You’ve got audacity.”
Stepping closer, Selene asserted, “I’m not asking for permission—I’m demanding it.”
Damon’s expression darkened, but he stepped aside, allowing them to pass. “Very well, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
As they entered, Selene felt the weight of her past bearing down on her. Every stone and shadow echoed her name, recalling the life she had left behind. Yet she couldn’t linger; her focus remained on the present and future.
They ultimately reached the ancient throne room, where Killian sat, head bowed and shoulders slumped. He looked up as they entered, his ice-blue eyes locking onto Selene’s. In that moment, it was as if time stood still, the world around them fading.
“Selene,” Killian whispered, a mix of shock and longing coloring his voice. “What brings you here?”
Selene stepped forward with unwavering determination. “I’m here because our son is in danger. I need your help to save him.”
Killian’s expression shifted with guilt, regret, and something darker. “Our son?”
“Yes,” Selene replied, steadying her voice. “Luca is central to an ancient prophecy, and there are those who will stop at nothing to see it fulfilled.”
Killian’s demeanor hardened, his icy gaze narrowing. “Who?”
“Damon,” Selene stated, her voice speckled with anger. “He’s been plotting against you—and us. He’s the one who revealed our location.”
Killian’s fists clenched, his jaw tightening in response. “I’ll kill him.”
“No,” Selene corrected firmly. “We must be strategic. We need to cooperate to rescue our son.”
Killian examined her for a long moment, his eyes searching hers, before nodding. “Alright. We’ll do this together.”
Selene felt a glimmer of hope. Unified by a shared objective, despite the past's pain and betrayals, they would fight side by side for their son’s safety.
As they exited the throne room, Selene couldn’t shake the premonition that they were heading into a storm. The whispers of the Blood Alpha echoed ominously in her mind, reminding her of the true adversary they faced. But she set aside her fear, focusing instead on the mission ahead.
Together, they would confront whatever darkness lay in wait and stop at nothing to protect Luca.
