Damian POV
I was supposed to arrive in the afternoon, but I stayed in the pack a little longer than predicted. I was with my friends, drinking beer and I just couldn't make myself sit in the car and hit the road. The campus was one hour drive from pack lands and I managed to be late. Never mind, the director is the retired Head Warrior of our pack, so he won't be mad at me. He knows how much I hate this. I was driving in the middle of the night, thinking about this year's program. Director mentioned to me that there will be a new female instructor this year, cause my sister couldn't be there, due to her Beta female obligations. I was intrigued, cause she is only 19, with an extraordinary resume for her age, and she is a human. We will see, I can't wait to see those great skills, performed by a human girl.
I was approaching the gate when two guards stopped me. "Good evening Alpha Wilson. We are sorry for stopping you Alpha, we didn't recognize your SUV. Please, pass through." I softly smiled at the nervous guard, to calm him a little bit. "It's alright boys, I am late and I bought a new SUV. So, you couldn't know. Thank you, have a good night." Their tensed bodies relaxed a little bit. They bowed their heads in a sign of submission, and I drove off through the gate.
Apparently, the guards mind linked to the director, cause he was waiting for me at the building entrance. His broad smile was always warm, and I considered this man a family. I was thrilled to watch him fight when I was a child and hoped to be like him one day. "Damian, welcome! I knew you were going to be late, you hate this job. But, thank you for coming, I know that you are leaving in two months", he told me with sadness in his eyes. I was his best student. "Hello, Paul. It is always great to see you. Still, in great shape, I see. You know I wouldn't come here if you are not in charge. I owe you so much and I just can't say no to you." His smile was even wider, and he led me inside, without a word, holding his arm over my shoulder. The building was the same, but the second I entered inside, I was overwhelmed with this beautiful intoxicating smell of coconut and vanilla. My mouth was watering, and I wondered who is the source of this smelling drug. The director noticed my body stiffened, roaming the house with my eyes, trying to figure out where this smell is coming from. He cleared his throat and motioned me to follow him upstairs to my room. "Is everything ok Damian? Your heartbeat suddenly changed." He was watching right in the eyes, trying to read my mind. I just shook my head "Nothing, just hate this place, as usual." I tried to fake a smile, but I am not sure that he fell for the story. I was behind him, following him when the smell hit me harder on the stairs. What the hell?! There were four rooms, and Paul showed me the first door on the right. "This is your room this year. There is only one female instructor, and she is in the room across from yours. She is probably asleep, but you will get to know her tomorrow morning at the breakfast. If you need anything, you can mindlink me and I will be here in a minute." I was nodding my head, but I didn't hear a word from his mouth. I just wanted him to leave, so I could find the source of the smell. It was mesmerizing, my heartbeat was accelerating and I couldn't think straight. "Everything is fine, go rest. I will take a shower and go to bed. Thank you, Paul." He nodded and left downstairs and out of the building. When I was finally alone, I could enjoy taking deep breaths of that intoxicating drug that was around me. I approached the door where the smell was the strongest, and I heard my wolf Ares clearly in my mind "Mate is in this room."
