I awoke and sat, panting, perspiration dripping down my brow.I used the back of my hand to dab at the perspiration on my forehead before turning to face my alarm clock. I moaned because it was only four in the morning. My wolf feels invigorated after these kinds of dreams, and I always wake up sweating. I sigh and fall back on the bed in an attempt to fall asleep. It was 4.30 am when I decided I wouldn't be able to get any sleep after writhing and turning in bed for 30 minutes. Since it was still extremely early and everyone would be asleep, I decided to go for a run. I entered my bathroom, quickly brushed my teeth and changed into my workout attire before making my way to my window. Why the window, you ask? Well, I usually leave through my window rather than my door, but at this moment, I would think about it because my parents don't like it when I go for a run in my wolf form. "I want to shift," I think empathetically as I race through the woods, hopping over branches. She begs me to shift because I haven't shifted in almost three weeks, so I say "fine" and transform into my silver wolf form. My skin began to sprout silver fur, and my nails' claws grew longer. My fur k glistened in the light that was about to emerge, and my eyes turned a bright crimson as my tail sprang up, finishing my form. I loved the breeze in my fur as I ran deeper into the woods. After an hour of running, I transformed back into a human and made the decision to go get ready for school. After collecting my breath, I silently entered the front door and saw my mother preparing breakfast in the kitchen. "Good morning, mom," I said, approaching the washbasin to get a glass of water. "morning honey,had a good run?" She smiled in response. I nodded and said, "I'm going to get ready for school," as I left the kitchen. "be on your best behaviour in school today Cynthia" I asked her, arching an eyebrow as I often do, "why?" as I made my way to the stairs. I stopped dead in my steps when she said, "because future alpha Potos is coming back from his training today." Her words were still in my head. Consequently, he will attend school today. I hurried upstairs to my shower, undressed, had a long, relaxing shower, and changed into my clothing. I wore my black leather jacket over my black skinny jeans and navy blue crop top today. I accessorised it with Adidas sneakers and put my hair up in a ponytail. I also applied lip gloss. I hurried down the stairs after packing my homework from the previous evening in my rucksack. My stomach rumbled as the delicious aroma of pancakes filled my nostrils; I had no idea I was that hungry. "Well, good morning to you to squirt," I said, looking disgusted as I entered the kitchen and saw my parents making out. "Eww, dad, we eat in here." He ruffled my hair and whispered, "You will always be my little squirt." I sat down and helped myself to those lovely pancakes, and he added, "Yuck, don't call me that I am not five you know." I whimpered, "Don't touch the hair, old man," and narrowed my eyes as they laughed at me. I wolfed down my pancakes and hurried out to school. I arrived five minutes early, at least. As I walked through the hallways and towards my lockers, my best friend, Kacey, greeted me with a big hug. "Hello!" she practically exclaimed, "Wow, someone's happy on a Monday morning, which is a first." I muttered, "Well duh, the hottest guy in town is going to be in school today," and she joined me in saying, "Wow, yay." I rolled my eyes at her, sarcastically, "oh come on Cynthia, at least be a little happy for the eye candy that you will get." When the bell sounded, I was about to say something to her. My eyes widened when I saw that my mate and the future alpha, "who is kissing another girl," was still holding Brittany's waist close to him. Tears clouded my vision, and I couldn't see it—the only person who is supposed to love me until the end of time is with another female and holding her close instead of me. I ran to my English class, not wanting to be in his presence, my heart breaking, feeling like many knives pierced through it, my wolf howling in pain, wanting to tear Brittany's head off for touching our mate. Upon arriving at my class, I was extremely upset. I started crying uncontrollably as the image of Potos kissing Brittany replayed in my mind. I got up and hurried to the girls' lavatory. As I was walking, I used my hands to wipe away my tears when a hand suddenly slithered around my waist. Sparks then entered my waist, causing me to gasp, and I was dragged into a pitch-black, deserted classroom. "Why are you crying?" I said. "Something went in my eye" I lied, and he moved away from me and placed his hands in his pockets, saying, "Y..." I recognise that voice; it was Potos. "I already know who I want to spend my entire life with, and it's not you," he interrupted, asking, "W what?" "I am in love with Britt," I swore.
