Owens POV     Oh shit... Who is she?      "I am Elizabeth Ivashkov." She stated simply and lifted her chin, straightening her back. There was a slight pause and Ms. Corris seemed a little taken aback.     "Alright, thank you Elizabeth. You may take the seat right there in front." She pointed between me and b***h Boy. Thank you God. She walked over and I had to stop myself from drooling. That long blonde hair sweeping over her shoulders was like a waterfall made of ice. I cleared my throat and tried to catch my breath, "Hi, I'm Owen Barrei."     She looked at me sideways, slightly hiding her face behind her shoulder. "Ok." She turned back to the front of the class and flipped her notebook open. Ok? That was it? She just brushed me off and it felt like my stomach was in my throat. Why would she just brush me off like that?      To her left b***h Boy gave her a small smirk and said "Don't mind him, he wants to stake his claim on every girl he meets. It's good to see you have better taste than most." How dare he! What is wrong with that little prick? "My name is Isaac Mavis."     "Ok." She said again. What is with this girl? I saw b***h Boys face fall and I took some small bit of smug satisfaction in that, even though she had snubbed me the same way.     Class droned by and finally the bell rang. I have to get her to talk to me. Her voice was like a harp and I wanted to hear more of it. "Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ambush you like that. I just know it's rough at a new school and it can be intimidating trying to make friends."     Her face didn't change at all but it seemed her shoulders relaxed a bit. "Ok, cool." She turned on her heel and walked out. Ok, cool. One more word than last time. I'll take what I can get.     I smiled internally and walked out of the classroom.                                                                                     Ellies POV     Why does that blonde guy keep trying to talk to me? Can he not take a hint? "Ok, cool." I said and walked off. Hopefully he'll leave me alone now. I need to focus on getting good grades so that I can make my dad proud. Plus… Work… An image of my father popped into my mind. He looks so much like Godric and Nicolai, strong shoulders, square chin, icy blue eyes. I wish he was around more...     I walked to the gym and was immediately in awe. Is there any part of this school that isn't two stories? I was currently on the upper level, to get to where the rest of the other students were waiting, I walked across the running track and down the bleachers. Oh no. He's in this class too. I mentally bashed my head in, I couldn't believe this.     "Everybody, to the locker rooms. Get changed and ready to go." I followed the other girls through a door on the side of the gym that led to a hall with a small alcove immediately outside of the gym. Two red doors stood on either side, and we went through the one on the left. I nearly choked when I saw that the entire room was bubblegum pink, the lockers, shower stalls, everything was pink. I quickly changed into my gym clothes and stashed my things in one of the lockers closest to the door. Lets get this over with.                                                                              Barnaul, Russia 2016     I ran through the gym, barely breaking a sweat. It felt good, really good. I love running and feeling free, knowing that nothing could stop me. I finished my last lap and slowed to a stop, feeling good, feeling like I was on cloud nine.      "Great job Beth. You were first to finish." I smiled at the coach as two boys came to a stop next to us.      One of them snickered and 'whispered' in his friends ear, "She is only so fast because she is constantly running from  memory of her dead mom." I was clearly meant to hear that. The other boy snickered with him and I could feel my blood boil. That isn't even a good burn, I thought angrily. I would've kicked their asses but I was already on thin ice, I had two write ups for fighting, one more and I would be kicked out.      Three girls came to a stop and saw the snickering, "Beth, you know that if you acted more ladylike, people would probably like you more." She gave me a sarcastic smile and her friends giggled behind her.      "That daika could not be more ladylike if she tried." One girl said and the three started laughing. I just couldn't understand why everyone here hated me, they love Ric and Nic. I'll never fit in, I thought to myself sadly. I hung my head and walked away from the snickering at my back.                                                                                      Present Day     We were running laps around the track outside and I once again felt the freedom that came with pushing your limits and running as hard and fast as you could. It was incredible. I tilted my head slightly upwards, smiling as I smelled fresh rain approaching. I finished my last lap and stopped near the coach. "What's your name?" The coach asked me.     I hesitated a second before saying, "Elizabeth, sir, my name is Elizabeth."     "You ever thought about trying out for track?" He asked me.      "Uh.. No, sir. I haven't." I said softly.     "Call me coach. Think about track. Try outs are after school tomorrow, I hope to see you there."     Track... That could be nice, maybe I would even make some friends. I smiled internally and thought about the possibilities when my thoughts were interrupted. "Woah new girl!" My stomach dropped, Here comes the ridicule. "That was impressive as hell, girl. What's your name?"     My mouth formed a slight o before I regained my composure, "Elizabeth."     "That's long, I'm gonna call you Beth. So Beth-"     "No!" I quickly interrupted, "No, please, call me El."     "El, got it. Well, El, you trying out for track?" He smiled at me and I had to admit he was kind of cute. His shaggy brown hair was falling in his green eyes and I felt the weird need to brush it back.     I coughed, trying to hide my embarrassment and said, "Uh, maybe. I hadn't thought much about it."     He gave me an easy smile that made my heard flutter a bit. "You should. I think you would be a great addition to the team." He started to turn away before quickly saying "By the way, my name is Blade."     I watched him walk over to his friends and man, he was good looking. His body was lean and muscly, he's clearly a runner. Blade... What a strange name... I like it.     "Hey stranger." I knew that voice.      "Hello, Owen." I said with slight strain in my voice.     "Your speed is killer, Elizabeth. How can you run so fast? You even beat the dudes on the track team." I could hear the awe and respect in his voice and for some reason it frustrated me.     "I train a lot." Why does he want to know so much about me?     I watched the last couple of students come to a stop, finishing their laps. "Train? Train as a runner?"      "Not really, that's just part of it. Mostly martial arts." He looked at me quizzically.      "Hi.." I heard a timid voice behind me. I turned and saw hazel eyes staring at me behind glasses. I was surprised at how much gold was in them.     "Hello." I said with a small smile.     "My name is Camila. I saw you running and it was really impressive." She dropped her eyes to the ground, "I heard Blade say that you were new and I, uh, I..." There was a pause and I gave her a second to collect herself. "I was new last year so I thought that maybe if you didn't have plans tonight, I could show you around town. I still haven't really made any friends, the girls here are all really mean and stuck up. I thought maybe you and I could stick together, maybe be friends."     "I would love to hang out with you. Meet me after class and we can go over the details." My smile grew and I saw her visibly relax.     "Ok, that sounds great." Her smile was so wide that she couldn't contain it and jogged off. I was excited to finally have a potential friend here.                                                                                     Owens POV     "I would love to hang out with you." So she is capable of making friends. My blood had already been boiling from the way she had smiled at Blade and now she had said more words in the last five minutes to this random kid than she had said to me all day.      "Ok, that sounds great." Camila was smiling at her like Elizabeth just became the center of her universe. What a weirdo, why was Elizabeth being so nice to her? Can't she see what a freak Camila is? Everyone else could. Elizabeth turned back towards the track as Camila ran off and I caught a glimpse of the smile on her face. God her smile is beautiful. Say something i***t! Don't just stare at her!     "So you two are going to hang out, huh?" I had gotten lost in my thoughts but I still heard their conversation.     She gave me an odd look that I couldn't quite read. "Yeah." Back to one word answers... Everyone was heading inside as class wrapped up, and I followed to go get changed for lunch.     As I walked into the locker room, I saw Blade talking to one of his friends, "Yeah she's absolutely gorgeous. I think I'm going to ask her if she needs help studying." He emphasized the word 'studying' which made his friends laugh and nudge him while he held up his hands. Blade really thinks he's Gods gift to women. What a s**t bag.
