“Still reading that book,” Lynn asked when she stepped into her and Alexis’s bedroom. When Lynn suggested the idea of a home birth, Alexis gathered every book she could locate on the subject. According to Doctor Rollins, it was too risky to have a twin birth at home. Lynn disagreed. She and Alexis were already in contact with a respectable midwife. Lynn continued to see Doctor Rollins for her checkups and monthly ultrasounds to monitor the position of the babies. From everything Lynn had read, a home birth was no more of a risk than giving birth in the hospital.
