As LaDawn is about to dial her dad's number her phone rings. It's Hazel. Hazel has been LaDawn's one true friend since freshman year of high school. "Hey Hazel" LaDawn says as she answers the call "Hey girl! What's the plan for today? Did your mom call yet? She probably wants to take you out huh?" Hazel says excitedly "she didn't call, she broke in with my spare key and scared me awake" LaDawn replies "And no we aren't going out, I guess Nate is in town and has someone with him whom he wants me to meet." Hazel responds exactly how LaDawn expected her to. "oooo I hope he's cute! You could use some eye candy" LaDawn blushes, she hadn't thought about that. Hopefully Nate wasn't trying to set her up with this guy. "dinner at 7 at Cookies as usual?" Hazel asks "As usual" Ladawn says sarcastically "oh come on, it'll be fun! wear something cute when you go meet that guy! You are a beauty queen and you hardly ever show it. See you at 7!" Hazel hangs up. It's not a date. Why should I dress up? Well I guess I should at least try to look my best for the sake of business. This is for a book deal after all. LaDawn was a very simple beauty. She usually had her lions main in a messy bun. Possibly some eye liner and mascara on with minimal effort. LaDawn was a jeans, T-shirt and sneakers kind of woman. She makes her way into her closet on the hunt for something that's suitable for the day. She rings her dad while rummaging through her options. "Nate speeking" how typical of him "Hi dad" LaDawn says quietly "oh, hello. Did your mother tell you that I'm in town?" Nate says in a monotone voice "yes, and that you have someone with you?" LaDawn replies cautiously "I do, someone very important. Meet us at the diner in an hour. I have to go." Nate hangs up. Does he know what today is? LaDawn rubs her forehead and glances at the clock. 8:15am. "Ugh" LaDawn exclaims She continues to look for something to wear, her bathrobe that she's currently in won't cut it. She stumbles upon a box and remembers its contents before opening it. It's the dress Nate's assistant picked out for her 2 years ago. LaDawn was meant to wear it to her first book signing but Cookie and Nate's drama ruined that. LaDawn rolls her eyes at the memory as she tosses the box onto her unmade bed. With her makeup done and hair managed LaDawn slips into the dress. It's tight, not to tight but enough to show her figure. It fits snug around her chest and hips. The silky deep green material stops just above her knees as to still be professional. She pairs it with black nylon stockings and some nude wedged heels. "Good enough" LaDawn says outloud. It's a short distance to the diner so she decides to walk. Why is everyone looking? She's wondering if she has lipstick on her teeth or if her hair is doing something crazy as she walks past the front window of the diner.
