Rizzo's POV
Ugh I have been sitting here in a stiff silence for 20 minutes now.
Where is she?
Nate says she's my age and a great writer. I hope that's true and that she's as responsible as she is gifted. Didn't Nate say it's her birthday? He doesn't have a gift for her.
Weird, but none of my business.
Who is that!?
Rizzo thinks to himself as he admires the beauty who's passing the window of the diner. His eyes appreciate how her firey curls compliment her green dress.
Her dress is struggling to contain those bouncing melons.
This woman's pure beauty was doing something to Rizzo that he wasn't comfortable with. He'd always been able to devour a woman with his eyes without his member in his pants twitching.
This goddess was different...
Oh s**t she's coming in here!
Rizzo wiggles a little in his seat, trying to compose himself as he watches this sexy creature saunter his direction.
No f*****g way!
Rizzo realizes she's looking directly at Nate. She pulls up a seat and sits down. In utter disbelief that his boss, Nate is her father, Rizzo becomes speechless.
LaDawn's POV
LaDawn wasn't the least bit surprised that her father hadn't acknowledged her presence.
Although she did feel eyes on her. LaDawn glances over at the young man accompanying her father.
Rizzo and LaDawn's eyes meet.
What the f**k!?
His eyes. Deep brooding brown with gold flakes.
The morning sun glimmering through the window helped LaDawn fully grasp what she was seeing.
For a moment she remembers her dream. As a result her n*****s harden.
LaDawn crosses her arms over her chest in an attempt to hide the effect this man has on her.
"Whats your name?" LaDawn asks the familiar stranger
"Rizzo, you're LaDawn" he says matter of factly
LaDawn blushes a little but quickly remembers Nate is present. As she switches her focus to him she is met with a hard gaze.
"Hi dad" LaDawn trys her best to sound collected
"Mhmm, it's your birthday. Rizzo is my newest addition to my company. He will be working with you to publish your novel. I have business to attend to. Nice seeing you LaDawn." Nate gathers his things and excuses himself from the diner without saying another word.
Rizzo's POV
That was tense. Definitely not the father daughter relationship I was expecting.
It was as though LaDawn read his thoughts when she said "sorry about that, I'm sure you know how straight to business and bland he can be."
Rizzo chuckled "I do, but I expected Nate to be warmer towards his daughter than any Joe-shmoe."
LaDawn smiled.
Oof that smile and those lips. Why do I feel so close to her already?
"my novel?" LaDawn asks, pulling Rizzo back from his intrusive thoughts.
"Oh yes, I need to read it."
LaDawn blushes and bites her bottom lip while avoiding eye contact.
Please stop torturing me this way.
Rizzo is baffled by the fact that he can hardly contain himself around a woman he just met.
"it's typed and not completely finished. It's saved on my PC at my apartment. I can email it to you?" LaDawn asks nervously
Rizzo wasn't sure if being alone with LaDawn was such a good idea right now. Unfortunately all of his things, including his laptop was currently being moved to his new apartment.
"Emailing isn't an option, my computer is with the rest of my stuff. My guess is that it's about 4 hours away at this point."
Rizzo says with a shrug.
"In the middle of a big move?"
LaDawn asks Rizzo while clearly trying to read him.
"yes, I just bought a small condo just up the street. Nate wants me to be in town until further notice." Rizzo replies while trying not to glance at LaDawns cleavage
