He Proposed

It's a week plus since Miles and I been friends and honestly, he's a good guy. I like him. He calls me many times even when we're at work, he likes video calling.

Like always, at lunch Lauren and I goes for lunch. "I told you he's a good guy" Lauren tells me after seeing me smiling when my phone's screen suddenly turns on and she sees Miles' name popping up.

"Lol, what are you talking about?" I ask her even though I know what she means. "Girl, don't play dumb with me. You know exactly what I'm talking about" she tells me while grinning.

Before I can answer her, Miles video calls me and she goes like "See what I mean?". I just pick the call.

"Hey sweet face" Miles tells me. Hey Miles, how are you?" I ask him. Lauren smirks and I just ignore her. "I'm okay. where are you?" he asks, before I can answer, Lauren answers "You know we're having lunch, don't you?" he laughs and says "Give her the phone". "Well he wants to talk to you" I tell Lauren while passing her the phone. "Hey muntu wanga (my personal person)" he tells her. "Hey, sup, you good?" she asks him. "Yeah I'm great, just wanted to say hi. will talk some other time" he replies her. "Will talk or you mean you will talk to Amira?" she asks him sarcastically. We all Lauren and Miles hangs up.

I smile at the thought of Miles and Lauren gives me "see what I meant" kinda look.

"What?" I ask her when I notice her look. "Nothing, just continue daydreaming while I eat all the food" she tells with a lunar laughter. We both finish eating and go back to our offices.

I don't know what's up, but I think I like Miles. I haven't let any guy close to me since I high when I was embarrassed by one of my schoolmate. Honestly Miles sounds like a different story.

Few hours later...

It's time to knock of so I quickly check myself and before I'm done, Miles calls.

"Hey" I answer my phone. "Hey.. Can I see you after work? There's something I want to tell you if you don't mind" he tells me. "Oh ok sure thing. I'm almost done" I tell him. "Alright then, let me know when you're done" he tells me and hangs up.

Well, I need to look a bit ok since I'm meeting Miles. "Of course you need to look nice dahhh" my silly mind tells me like I've asked it. "Go to hell, silly" I reply myself.

I need to let Lauren know that I'm meeting up with Miles so she don't need to wait fore today.

I grab my phone which was on the table, I scroll down my contacts until I find Lauren's line. I deal the number and she picks up real quick. She's a phone addict, so her phone is always in her hands many times. "Hi sweetheart" I tell her. "Hi" she replies. "You're done already" she adds. "Uhmmm no, I'm just calling to let you know that Miles wants to see me, so maybe it will be impossible to go home together today" I tell her. "Oh wow, is that so" she replies. "Are you upset? I can cancel the program, it's okay" I tell her thinking she's upset. "No dummy. I'm more happier because it's non other than Miles, dahhh" she tells me. "And yes, don't worry, I'm actually not going home straight. I want to pass by my aunt's place for something" she adds. "Ohhh is that so. Well okay then" I reply her and hang up.

I'm with Miles and like always, he talks but not that much. He looks me straight in the eyes and says "Amira I've been trying to gather enough courage. Since the day I saw you in person, I fell in love but I just didn't know how to tell you and I've been scared because I thought you would refuse me. But hey, today I thought of trying my luck" he tells me and I feel really shy right now. I'm not a shy person so I don't know where this is coming from.

"I-I-I I don't know what to say to you. But hey let's try, maybe it will work" I reply him while stuttering. Stupid stutter.

"Oh wow really?!" he replies like he has won a jackpot. "Well yeah" I reply him.

He pulls me close and hugs me so tight and for a minute I feel like I will die, but hey it's okay dying in hands like these.

"I think I'm not breathing now" I tell him and he quickly let's go feeling shy.

At night...

Talking to Lauren...

"Guess what happened girl.." I tell Lauren. "Uhmmm what happened? Did you meet Miles like you told me?" she asks me. "Yes I did and you won't believe why he wanted to meet up with me" I tell her feeling happy and like a curious person that she is, she wants to know everything.

"He just proposed to me and I said yes!" I scream forgetting that it's late at night and people are sleeping. "No way!!" she screams in a joyous way. "Yes way" I tell her. We talk for a while and says our good nights.
