Chapter 1 - Lorenzo
TRINITY * "She was being driven down the road to an ER with a stranger she just met. I guess faith had different plans for her today." * It was a long day at The Coffee Shop. People were going in and out all day long. This was a place where all come for many things. The Coffee Shop was a diverse place from a bookstore, meeting rooms, and the coffeeshop. Trinity was getting tired by standing all day on her feet and she was ready for a break. Nevertheless, there was still a smile on her face. Trinity was always like this she lights up a room everywhere and anywhere it’s one of her pros. Bouncing from foot to foot she looks at the clock waiting for the hour hand to strike twelve. She’s caught off guard by the sound of a man clearing his throat. Her eyes snap from the clock to a group of me in suits in front of her. “Oh.. W-welcome to The Coffee Shop, how can I help you?” The man in front of Trinity was someone of importance. One could tell by the way he dressed and how he was kept. He to looked at Trinity but different thoughts ran through his head, as he looked at the young woman in front of him. “Yes, is there a meeting room reserved here?” With a devilish smile on his face. She thought his voice was amazing, it was rough and deep, but soothing. “Ma’am?” Snapping out of her trance she realized she was just blatantly staring at the man. “My apologies what's the name?” He softly chuckled and she couldn’t help but smile but the sound of his voice. “Lorenzo” Looking at the booklet in front of her she tried her best not to stare. “Ah right here!” she escorted them to the back of the coffee shop to a square sized meeting room with only six chares on either side of the table. “Here you are and If you need anything my name is Trinity.” Closing the door her name was called turning around from the door she walks right into Jack “There you are, I was looking all over for you!” “Hey to you too.” She laughed lightly. Jack was one of the few employees that worked here. He was taller than Trinty well everyone was taller then her height wise she was 5′2. His sandy brown hair going everywhere it never seems to want to lay down no matter how much he wants to brush it down, and he’s relucent to use hair gel. Also having deep brown eyes as he towers over Trinity Unlike him, Trinity has lightly faded red hair with freckles spotted all over her face with deep green eyes. Her hair is always a tangled mess but once or maybe twice a month if she feels like it, she will untangle her hair. Which is always a two-hour process if she was lucky. “Who’s in there?” As Jack motions his head towards the door behind Trinity “I’m guessing business groups having a meeting.” she filled him in. Both walking away they have a friendly conversation about their days’ tills they walk to the break room “Going on a break” Trinity nodded and clocked out taking off her apron putting it on a hook. Then grabbing her coat and keys getting ready to leave. “Yea gonna stop home real quick” Leaving the coffee shop Trinity didn’t live far but it still took her about 7-8 minutes to get there depending on traffic. Backing out the small parking lot of her job she leaves home. By time Trinity got to her small apartment complex living on the first floor, she parks right in front of her apartment door. Inside was nothing to fancy as the wall were a cool blue and green and a few plants and painting hung here and there. She whistled and a huge husky comes running at her knocking her over completely. Giving her a sloppy kiss all over her face was Quinn her Siberian Husky. Even if he wasn’t quite one yet he has gotten big. “Quinn! Stop! Sit boy!” Being given a command he stops and sits tilting his fluffy head to the side waiting for what his mother would say next. They both stare at each other as a smile spread across her face. “You ready to eat!” The excitement seen on both human and dog faces as both run into the kitchen. Eating dog food out of his bowl and Trinity eating a ham sandwich. Quinn finishes quickly and looks at Trinity then back at her sandwich then her wanting more to eat. “Ok here, wish I didn’t teach you how to beg. Handing her dog the rest of her sandwich and grabbing the leash next to her door. Quin excitedly spinning in a circle ready for his walk. After Quinns walks, Trinity starts to heads back to work when her phone rings the caller ID belonging to Jack. “Hello?” "Hey, Trinity are you on your way back yet?" “On my way now, why?” On the other side of the phone you could hear someone yelling ‘Jack get your ass back here we need you up here’ could be heard threw the phone. Undoubtedly Maci who was another employee who was on paternity is now back. "I need you to take care of the group in the meeting room" “Was that Maci?” “Yes and that baby must be driving her crazy!” Maci was a calm person, not one to yell or curse at others usually “Yeah, well I’m on my way now.” Hanging up she quickly pulled up to The Coffee Shop It was packed. As the days get colder people are trying to warm up more by any means hot. Rushing in she runs to the back taking off her coat and tieing the apron around her waist she runs past Jack. “Have they been served?” “Yes, but they have another order coming up!” He shoves a tray into her hand pushing her towards the back. “Bring back they used dishes” Jack opens the door pushing Trinity in. She almost falls catching the eyes of everyone “Sorry just here to clean up carry on.” They go back to what they were doing as she picks up cups and plates. She listens in on what the man upfront as she happens to overhear. “That’s why we should fund Company A. Company B is much smaller and could take much more investment and years to build.” Trinity scrunched her face at what the man up front said "That is a horrible Idea" she mutters to herself. ′Why buy an expensive company if you won’t be making much money for the profit′ she thought. Obliviously not aware of the man staring at her. As she makes her way to the last cup the man in front of her speaks out. “My apologies Tom could you stop for a second” Looking Trinity right in the eye was the man from before. “Do you have any suggestions, Trinity right?” Shocked, Trinity studdered on her words “No..um I don’t think-” She was cut off “You mutter something a while ago, just say that.” There were so many eyes on her at that moment. “I-I was just thinking to myself.” His stare sent shivers down her spine. “Well... I just thought that buying Company A is good to buy, But since its already a big company there might not be any room to expand and you could lose money from them” The man motion for Trinity to continue “If you bought Company B, Yes though it may be small that means more expansion and more money you can gain. You don’t have to invest as much money to buy Company B as much you would on Company A” Trinity, now silent she looked down at the cups and plate on the tray that she held. “Well, you heard her guess I’m taking my chances on Company B.” Trinity didn’t know what to say she was stunned by the remark “But Sir-” He cut the man off by holding up his hand he picked up his cups he walks over to Trinity. “That was a brilliant decision you made.” Trinity does a soft giggle that wasn’t supposed to escape her lips “Uh... Thank you. I should get... t-the rest of your order.” She quickly walks out of the room, not noticing that a red blush crept up to her face and ears. She hasn’t done anything like that in a long time since she left college. Waking into the kitchen she dropped off the dishes she had walking over to one of the few chefs “Where the order for the meeting room reserved for Lorenzo?” pointing at two trays filled with more drinks and bagels and cookies. ‘Someone has a sweet tooth’? Grabbing both trays one in each hand she walks to the meeting room door using her elbows to open the door. “Alright here is your-” The sound of glass smashing could be heard all threw the room. Pain shooting up Trinity’s arm seeing blood on the floor. In the palm of her hand was a shard of glass almost the size of her finger. Scanning the floor she seeing food and broken glass littering the floor. Trinity had found the culprit of all this a chair that was pulled out from the table, and in that chair was Tom with a vile smile etched on his face. ‘He Did This Intentionally!’ Trinity thought to herself she was furious. Her face turns a blush red from anger. The touch of smooth hand caught Trinity off guard as her eyes instantly staired at the little of the bare chest she could see on the man in front of her. She thought of nothing other than wanting to touch him. The missing tie that had been around his neck now was tied around her wounded hand. “Can you stand?” “I’m fine I can handle this myself” She smiled and pulled her hand back from the man. Christopher didn’t take Trinity pulling away from him. He pulled her hand back to him. “Can.You.Stand?” Saying it more firmly to Trinity. Lost for words Trinity could only nod for her answer. Swiftly she was pulled to her feet and pull threw the meeting room doors. Curious and confused eyes of employees and customers followed them. As Jack watched wide eyes are Trinity was pulled out into the cold autumn air just as quickly it was gone. As Trinity had been shoved into a car a very nice one at that. Holding her injured hand closer afraid to get blood anywhere. “I’m taking you to the emergency room!” Just as Trinity was going to protest against the idea she was shot down “No if’s and or buts.” Not getting the chance to even say that she could handle herself she was being driven down the road to an ER with a stranger she just met. I guess faith had different plans for her today.
