Dear Miss Nyborg,
I have the most sanguine news, and it is due, in no small measure, to your kind exertions on my behalf. Reverend Thielman has at long last agreed to post my letters to you, and because of this I no longer need moderate what I say. Happily, he has also agreed to deliver your letters to me, so in the future, be so kind as to send them in his care, to his address. You cannot possibly know how much they mean to me.
Almost as extraordinary, is the news that the Reverend has succeeded in his other endeavor, and I am no longer required to perform the menial duties that only seem to be assigned to colored prisoners—the cleaning and scrubbing of the cellhouse floo
