CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Hunter POV I get out of the shower feeling the freshest I’ve felt in a while. Showers in the temple are anything but perfect. Hell, you’ll be lucky enough if it’s warm. I grab the boxers, white t-shirt and gray sweatpants that I laid on the bed before hopping in the shower and put them on. I throw my hair up in a man bun using the hair tie I stole from Adrienne. “The Santanas!” Adrienne and her parents' voices echo throughout the house. I smile. Everything sounds good down there, which means Adrienne is another step closer to being okay. These last few months, if she wasn’t kicking ass in training, she was using the rest of her energy pretending to be okay. But I was there— I heard her screams— I know who still haunts her dreams. She could pretend with everyone else, but not with me. Little by little she’s been putting back pieces of herself that he shattered. Her reuniting with her parents is another piece that’ll give her back that inner strength he tried to break. I pick my phone up from the bed and dart for the door. From the laughter and cheers coming from downstairs, a party is about to start and I don’t want to miss it. I swing the door open only to be stopped by Brody standing in the doorway. “What’s up man?” I question him. “Sandy wants you and Adrienne to be ready to leave tomorrow morning.” “Tomorrow? Why so soon? We just got here.” My mind goes to Adrienne and her parents. She hasn’t seen them in so long, a day is not enough time. “We have to keep you guys off the grid. You shouldn’t even be here now but Sandy knew Adrienne needed to see her family. First thing tomorrow morning, we’re leaving.” He turns his back towards me before I can say anything else and walks into a room down the hall. I run my hand through my beard as I take a deep breath in. I know he’s right, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t suck. I trot downstairs and into the living room to see Rosa pouring a round of shots. “Don’t forget mine!” I shout, making sure I get her attention. She grins from ear to ear before running to the kitchen to grab another glass. “You gonna be okay without whiskey?” Adrienne beams as she locks her arms around my waist. I eye the bottle of tequila on the table and my stomach instantly turns. The last time I had tequila I ended up on the bathroom floor at Sandy’s face down in my own vomit. Since then, whiskey has been my best friend. Her honey eyes peek through her lashes as she looks up at me. “I’ll be fine as long as I can have you as my chaser.” I smirk as I squeeze her a little tighter. I haven’t seen her smile like this in months. There’s no way I’m letting tequila f**k it up. “As long as I can have you as my chaser.” Carlos mocks in the background. “Mira pendejo, you better come up with better pick-up lines than that, if you want to keep my daughter around.” Rosa comes back into the living room with the extra shot glass and starts to pour tequila into it. “Watch this. I’m going to show you how it’s done.” He whispers to me. “Mi amor! You want to know something.” Rosa rolls her eyes as if she already knew what was coming. “What is it?” She asks as she picks up my shot glass and hands it to me. “My life without you would be like a broken pencil…pointless.” Silence takes over the room. My lips press together as I try so hard not to crack a smile, but that quickly went out the window when Adrienne burst into laughter. “Are you serious dad? Can you get any cornier?” She curls over clenching her stomach. She can barely breathe. It makes me happy to see her laugh like this. “He gets dumber with age. Please don’t be like him Hunter.” Rosa shakes her head as she hands Adrienne and I our shots. “Don’t be like me?! Mi amor…” He chuckles as he reaches for his shot glass. “I’m the best decision you ever made.” He raises his glass and winks at Rosa. “Woah, the swag is just dripping off of you, Papi.” Adrienne jokes. Rosa bites her bottom lip and gives Carlos a look that I am all too familiar with and I almost gag. “SHOTS!” I yell out. The last thing I want is to throw up because Adrienne and her mom have the same “f**k me eyes”. We all swallow our shots and I watch as everyone’s face scrunches up from the burn, including mine. f**k, I really do hate tequila. “Another!” Carlos shouts before grabbing the remote. Rosa starts on the next round of shots. Spanish music starts to blare through the speakers. It’s not the usual Marc Anthony that I’m used to hearing him play when he’s working on his cars. “Hector Lavoe! El Cantante himself.” He cheers as he breaks out into a solo salsa dance. “You kids don’t know nothing about this. This man IS salsa. You can’t listen to him and not want to dance. His music changed the game for us.” I laugh. For some reason, every time Carlos is in a good mood, he always graces us with a history lesson about something with his culture. He is definitely a proud Puerto Rican. The Puerto Rican flags he displays everywhere are proof enough. “Mi amor! Baila conmigo.” He grabs Rosa before she can finish pouring the shots and spins her around. They start dancing and they’re both pulling out their stunts. It was kind of like I was watching an episode of Dancing with the Stars. I had no idea they could move like this. Adrienne looks at me and her honey eyes twinkle as she shimmies her shoulders. “Oh no.” I shake my head, already knowing where this is heading. “Oh come on! Just one dance.” “Not gonna happen, Gorgeous.” She shifts closer to me and her fingers start to play with my earlobe. “Don’t start.” “Pleeeaaassseee baby.” She bats her eyes and pouts her lips, giving me her signature sad puppy look. I sigh knowing that I’m losing this battle. I am literally putty in this girl’s hand and she knows it. “I’m gonna need one of these first.” I reach down to grab a shot glass and pour some more Tequila into it. “Yay!” She does her little happy dance while she pushes her shot glass next to mine so I can pour her a shot as well. “The things I do for you woman.” We clink our glasses and I welcome the slow burn that hits my chest. “Woo! Let’s go!” She drags me to an open space and starts to sway her hips and dance circles around me, while harmonizing with the music. Adrienne in her element, doing what she loves with the people she loves is when she’s the most sexy. My eyes watch her every move, then finally land on her smile. The smile that I haven’t seen in months— the same smile that took my breath away when I first laid eyes on her. “Come on, don't just stand there. Dance with me.” She takes my hands and starts to salsa. “It’s easy. Just three steps. Front 1,2,3, back 1,2,3.” She moves her feet along with the cadence. I chuckle, knowing how seriously she’s taking this. “What’s so funny?” “Nothing. I think I got it.” “How. You didn’t even—“ Before she could finish, I spin her around and wrap one of my hands around her waist while the other holds her other hand. I continue to lead her as we dance to the music. “I thought you said you couldn’t dance.” “I never said I couldn't, I said I didn’t. There’s a difference.” She squints at me and I spin her again. “I’m not like Marc Anthony and JLo dancing over there.” I point my chin at Carlos and Rosa. “But I can do the basics.” She giggles. “You never cease to amaze me.” I pull her closer to me and bring my lips to her ear. “Wait until tonight.” I see her body tense and take the opportunity to tease her a little bit more. I gently blow on her ear and nibble on her earlobe, before laying soft kisses in the crook of her neck. “Mmm. Hunter, my parents are right there.” She puts her hand on my chest, slightly pushing me away. “A few more of these Tequila shots and they won’t be here much longer.” “Oh baby, you don’t know my parents.” **** I look at the time on the cable box in the living room, 1:32 am. Roughly twelve hours in, four bottles of Tequila empty and six 12-packs of Coronas gone. Adrienne was not kidding when she said it was going to take more than a few shots of Tequila to get them down. Hours of drinking and dancing and Carlos finally sat on the couch and fell asleep. Rosa didn’t make it that far and passed out on the floor. Now I see where Adrienne gets her sleeping habits from. I had no idea sleeping habits were hereditary. “Should I carry her to the room?” I ask as we both stand over a snoring Rosa. “I wouldn’t. The last time Dad tried to move her when she was this drunk, he came back with a bloody nose and a busted lip.” “I thought your right hook came from your Dad but I can see your Mom is the culprit.” I joke as I think back to my first time meeting Adrienne and our first date. She definitely made it hard to forget her. “It’s best we just leave them here. They’ll be fine once they wake up in the morning.” Adrienne walks to the closet and pulls out two blankets. She passes me one and I lay it on top of Rosa, while she lays the other on Carlos. None of them move or even know what’s going on. Adrienne starts to pick up the empty Corona and Tequila bottles from the table and takes them into the kitchen. I follow suit. “So how did you feel partying with my parents?” She asks to make conversation. “The Santanas definitely know how to hold their liquor and you guys dance a lot. I’ve never danced so much in my life.” “I thought the same thing when I met your family. The shots were endless and then hopping on ATVs right after that…I’m surprised I didn’t crash.” “Yeah, I was a little surprised too by the way you were swerving. It was a little questionable.” “Shut up!” She laughs as she hits my shoulder. I grab her hand and bring her closer to me. “How ‘bout you shut me up.” A small smile creeps on her face as she raises her eyebrow. She inches closer to me, licking her lips and then gently biting down on her bottom one. My d**k throbs against my pants in response and I start to wonder if I could take her right here on the counter without waking up her parents. She stops just before her lips touch mine and smirks. “Are you teasing me, Gorgeous?” “Is it working?” “See for yourself.” I take her hand and place it on the bulge in my pants. “I’ll take that a–” I slam my lips onto hers before she can finish her sentence. I kiss her hungrily, not giving her room to breathe. My hand locks into her hair and I tug a little, exposing her slender neck. I lick circles around her sweet spot while my free hand cups her breast and pinches her n****e. “Mmmm.” Her moans fuel my eagerness and I lift her up and onto the counter. I lift her shirt above her head and throw it to the floor. Her perky breasts in a black bra were on full display for me. My lips press into hers again as I go to unclip her bra. “Are you crazy? My parents are right in the living room.” She takes a deep breath before pushing me away and hopping off the counter. “They’re three sheets to the wind right now. They are not waking up anytime soon.” I try to bring her back to me but she stands firm. “Okay fine.” I say, swooping her up over my shoulder and running up the stairs. She squeals, telling me to put her down, but there’s no way she’s getting off that easy. The door shuts with an unintentional bang as I stand Adrienne on her feet. She pushes me against the wall and grabs my junk, stopping me from making another move. I hiss as she moves her hand up and down my length. “You always get your way. Now it’s my turn.” She hooks her fingers on the waistband of my sweatpants and drops them, freeing my manhood. She licks along my shaft and circles around my tip and I already feel like I’m in heaven. Her delicate hands wrap around my c**k and stroke up and down as she continues to lick my tip. Once she sees my man standing at full attention, she takes me into her mouth. Inch by inch she brings me deeper into her mouth. “f**k Adrienne.” My voice is low and hoarse. She brings me in some more until her face is flat on my stomach. Her throat clenching around my d**k has me seeing stars. Her eyes lock onto mine as she quickens her pace, making it almost impossible to breathe. My hands curl into her hair and my body starts to tremble as she continues to deepthroat my c**k. She lifts her head, allowing room for her to breathe. My length is drenched in her saliva and is itching to dive back into her small mouth. I pick her up and carry her to the bed. I rip off her pants and underwear and then do away with mine. “Wait. I’m not done with you yet.” She scolds. “Trust me, I know you’re not, but I want you to sit on my face while you finish.” Before she can say anything, I flip her on top of me, 69 position. Her p***y is already dripping wet, pulsing and waiting for my tongue to taste her. I glide my tongue along her slit, licking up the juices flowing out of her. Adrienne moans but wastes no time getting back into what she was doing. Her lips wrap around my c**k and she takes me deep into her mouth until I can feel my skin slide against her tonsils. “s**t baby.” I hum. I let my tongue circle around her swollen bud while I inserted two fingers inside her. I twirl my fingers up to her G-spot while I continue to lick her c**t vigorously. Her moans bounce off the walls of the room, making me want her even more. I quicken my pace. Her body quivers and she starts to lose control. Her thighs tighten around my head. “Oh my God baby, I’m about to cum.” She whimpers. She tries to keep up but the orgasm that’s about to take over stops her. “Ahhhh. f**k!” Her sweet nectar drips into my mouth and like a bee in a honeypot I suck it all up, making sure not to leave a drop behind. Her body goes limp and I slowly flip her back over and lay her on the bed. She mumbles something that I don’t understand. “What was that Gorgeous?” She unsteadily sits up and pushes me back onto the bed and straddles on top of me. “I said, I’m not done with you yet.” I smile as l look at the glorious woman sitting on top of me. “You bet your ass you’re not.” Cole POV “Sir, bad news.” I roll my eyes and look up from my desk. “Sam, why is it that everytime I see your face, it’s followed by bad news? I’m two seconds away from killing you. Why do I need you around if you can’t do your f*****g job?” He doesn’t respond and it just makes me miss Ryan so much more. Ryan was perfect. I didn't have to worry about anything with him. Everything went smoothly when he was around. “What do you need to tell me?” I pinch the bridge of my nose, struggling to find just a little bit of patience. “Sandy caught the men we had tailing her. They’re tied up in a warehouse. She wants to have a meeting.” “So, she’s threatening me into a meeting?” I smirk. “Burn down the warehouse.” “But Sir, our men!” I jump up from my seat and slam my fist on the desk. Sam stands up straight, avoiding eye contact with me. It seems he needs a little more training. “How’s your wife, Sam?” “My wife, Sir?” “Yes, your wife. Is she still taking care of those bastard kids at that elementary school? She’s a kindergarten teacher, right?” His eyes are wide and full of fear just how I like them. “Sir?” “You seem to forget who you work for, Samuel. Not only do I fill your pockets with a s**t ton of money, but I also know everything there is to know about you. Including that beautiful blonde you have waiting for you in that two-bedroom condo I’m pretty sure my money is paying for.” His eyes are cast down at the floor but I can see his eyebrows furrow. “Did you think you could hide her from me?” I laugh. “I knew about her as soon as you signed on that dotted line. So let’s be clear, just in case you forgot…You belong to me. Every move you make is because I allow it. Are we clear or are we going to have to have this conversation again but with your woman next time?” I stand tall in front of him, letting him know who’s in charge. “That won’t be necessary, Sir. I understand.” He doesn’t make eye contact. “Good. Now burn down that f*****g warehouse with the men inside. If they were stupid enough to get caught then they deserve death anyway.” I turn around and make my way back to my desk. “You’re dismissed.” He walks out and shuts the door behind him. I sit down and run my hand through my hair. What the hell is Sandy up to? We didn’t see anything on the CCTV from the tunnel but we were able to see that the cameras were messed with. The only one able to do that is Sandy and her team. It’s obvious she’s making her move, but I’m tired of playing defense. She’s about to find out why she shouldn’t poke a sleeping bear. I pick up my phone and call Sam. “Sir?” He answers. “Change of plans. Arrange the meeting.”
