It’s honestly mind-blowing how stubborn humans can be.
“This is my first real interaction with them, and I’m already taken aback by the audacity of a mere human to talk back to me. It’s completely outrageous and undeniably disrespectful.”
The main door opened, revealing David. As he shuffled into the living room, his expression was dark and brooding, like a storm cloud hanging over him.
“How’s your first day at work?” Allura asked, taking a sip of the tea that Crystal had prepared.
It’s ridiculously good.
David let out a heavy sigh, “I never imagined myself working for anyone else but you, Alli. They kept bossing me around and
Tell me what to do! It’s exhausting.”
“Seriously? You’re feeling worn out just from that? Have you forgotten you used to be a pro at slashing necks back in Thellitophia? And now you're all tired from a little human job?”
Out of nowhere, he plopped down onto the couch and started snoring like a freight train. How can he fall asleep that quickly? It's insane.
Allura watched David as he is in deep sleep. Guess she should probably hit the hay too, considering she’ll have to endure another round of hell tomorrow. I won’t lie, sitting in a classroom and listening to a human drone on for hours is giving me a raging headache. This education system is way more unbearable than they’d ever imagined.
As she laid down in her bed, her mind kept circling back to what transpired earlier. How could that human allow such treatment? The thought of it stressed her out more than it should have.
“Miss Allura, you’re going to be late for school. The clock shows it's already 8 am,” Crystal chimed in, her voice cutting through Allura’s thoughts.
“What the hell?! I never wake up this late! Forget breakfast! Go wake David and tell him I’m heading to school with him!”
“Sir David has already left, your Highness.”
Are you serious? He just ditched me here?! Watch out, you brat!
Eventually, she made it to school on time, and, of course, she teleported herself to school. No way was she gonna ride that Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and risk being late. As she walked through the halls, she spotted Ace making his way to class. She decided to pop over and say hello.
“Morning,” She greeted him. He just shot her a blank stare, like she was a ghost, and then picked up the pace. It’s honestly fascinating. She has never been ignored in her life, and a simple human just pulled it off. This is definitely something new and interesting to her.
“Good morning, everyone! I’m your new teacher of Psychology, David Ruther. This marks my first day of teaching, since yesterday was all about me being ordered around by the principal,” blurted David as he sauntered into the classroom, cracking jokes while throwing glances in Allura’s way.
This brat really has the nerve to leave me alone and almost gets me late, and now he’s cracking jokes.
He’s really getting under her skin, alongside Ace. Can this day get any worse?
“Ahhh! I can’t wrap my head around anything from this class! No matter how many times I focus and try to absorb every word Ms. Fae says, it all just floats over my head like some weird cloud of confusion—huhuhu.”
A young man shuffled down the stairs, his thoughts spiraled.
“I’m rich, but it feels like I’m the dumbest person alive. How incredibly unfortunate for me.” he muttered to himself, feeling a wave of frustration wash over him. Then, not too far from the stair landing, he spotted a group of kids, and to his utter disbelief, they were picking on... a handsome dude?
“Hey! You ugly chicken poxes! Leave him alone!” he shouted, channeling his inner superhero, even if his heart raced a bit at the thought of confronting them.
One of the bullies shot back, smirking,
“And who are you to tell us what to do? Chicken poxes? Do we look like food to you?”
“Ahh, haha, no. But honestly, you all look as ugly as my butt,” he retorted with a laugh that erupted from him, his confidence surging. Seriously, they shouldn’t take offense; even a chicken looks better than them—HAHAHA.
“Dude, just back off. You’re talking to one and only Shaun Villamor’s here. Can you even afford to live in a normal villa? Or will you settle for a cheap apartment?” one bully spat, the tone dripping with disdain.
With that, they bolted down the hall, leaving the boy alone. He looked strangely familiar, like someone he might have seen before or maybe just someone who stood out in a crowd.
“Hey, are you okay? Why did you let those ugly rascals mess with your handsome face?” Shaun asked as he rushed over, reaching out to help him back on his feet. He was unbelievable, though—he slapped his hand away.
Huhuhu, that hurts, especially with my fancy hand cream. It’s expensive!
“I don’t need you to save me, Mr. Villamor. Even if you tell them off, they won't stop bothering me,” he replied, dismissing Shaun before he walked away.
Shaun never thought he’d just ignore his help like that. Was his handsome face not captivating enough? Ugh!
“Hey, they picked on you again, didn’t they?” Allura asked Ace when she caught a glimpse of his forlorn expression, teetering on the brink of tears.
“Why do you care? It’s your fault they bully me more.” How dare he put the blame on Allura for being stubborn?
“I have no intention of making your life worse, Ace. I did what I did last time because it seemed like they were giving you a hard time. You really need to learn to stand up for yourself and quit being such a pushover,” she shot back, incredulous at his blatant stubbornness.
As Allura marched toward David's office to confront him about ditching her earlier, her mind kept drifting back to what I’d just witnessed. It was like a lion being bullied by a pack of mutts. That guy was so interesting, though!
He had this striking appearance—tall nose, sharp jawline, those almond-shaped eyes, heart-shaped lips. His hair? Just like mine! How could someone so gorgeous end up being bullied? My curiosity spiked—hays.
When she finally reached David’s office, he looked annoyingly cheerful.
“You brat! How could you leave me behind like that? You almost made me late!”
“Your Highness, it’s your responsibility to wake up on time. And besides, I never thought you’d sleep in since you used to rise with the sun back in Thellitophia,” David replied.
“Even I can’t believe it.” This mission felt more exhausting than an actual battle.
“Hey, that Ace kid, do you have a record on him? Get it for me—along with Shaun’s.”
“Why must I do that?”
“Why can’t you?”
“What’s with your sudden interest in people not part of the plan?”
“He’s got something about him that’s hard to explain, Davy. He’s bizarre yet intriguing.”
“Forget that! Quit calling me that pet name!”
“By the way, can you set up an appointment for me to meet the Villamor’s? We need to kick off the mission there.”
“I’ll have Crystal whip up the elixir for the plan tomorrow. But isn’t it a bit early to start? I mean, we have no clue how the Villamor’s operate or how many guards might be lurking around their mansion.”
“I don’t understand why you’re worried about that, David. I’m the one executing the plan tomorrow. Plus, it’s a full moon, and you know what I’m capable of. Have those files ready by dawn. I’m going to dive into studying Shaun and that stubborn human being. Gosh.”
“You seem quite interested in him, huh? Never seen you like this before, Alli.”
She had no intention of explaining her thoughts to him. Instead, she turned on her heel and headed back to the mansion. Allura asked Crystal if there was everything she needed, including the elixir, to mask her scent from any potential werewolves. Who knew if there were even werewolves around here? She just had to make sure that this first move didn’t flop.
