“Now where would we put him?” she demanded, c*****g her head. “Not only that, but it would be months before I could ride!”
“I doubt you’d break his back just sitting on him.”
Maria’s mouth fell open in surprise and James gave her a mischievous grin. Indignant, she threw a bow in his direction. He laughed at her efforts and Maria reached for something else to throw. She never got the chance as James wrapped his arms around Maria and began to kiss his wife. Within seconds, he had Maria giggling and she forgave his teasing.
