Showing Me The Truth

1120 Words
Sarah POV I couldn't believe what I was hearing from Daniel. It was almost impossible to accept, but he insisted that humans aren't the only beings in this world—that supernatural entities do exist. Then he dropped a bombshell: he is a werewolf. I thought he must be joking, or maybe this was all some elaborate tease. Surely, it couldn’t be true. Perhaps it was all part of some elaborate plan or a joke to have an eventful day together. Yes, that's it—that has to be it. Daniel, you must be joking. However, the earnestness in his posture and the steady, unwavering expression on his face suggest that he's entirely serious. "I know what I'm telling you contradicts everything you've been taught, everything you believe to be true, but it's the truth. I can prove it to you," he said confidently. Daniel hesitated for a moment before beginning to remove his shirt. His voice, soft yet urgent, whispered, "Please don't be afraid." Slowly, he removed his shirt, revealing a well-toned physique that seemed almost unreal in its perfection. Without hesitation, he then took off his pants and boxers, leaving himself completely bare. His body was truly remarkable, every muscle defined and supple. What happened next was so astonishing it left me completely stunned. Bones began to c***k audibly, and fur started to sprout along his skin, transforming before my eyes. In an instant, there stood a massive black wolf, regal and powerful, in front of me, embodying a wild, awe-inspiring presence. I took a step backwards and suddenly lost my footing, tumbling to the ground. A wave of shock overwhelmed me, rendering me immobile and unable to think clearly. My eyes darted around, trying to comprehend what I was witnessing in this tense moment. The wolf, cautious and deliberate, inched closer to me as if carefully testing the waters, gauging my response. Frantically, I scrambled backward, desperate to put distance between us. I shut my eyes tightly, bracing myself for the pain, bracing for the inevitable attack from this enormous, beastly wolf that seemed poised to strike and end my life. "Sarah....Sarah. it's just me. Open your eyes," Daniel said has he caressed my cheeks. Once I opened my eyes the massive wolf was gone. "Where is the wolf?" I said panicking. "I'm the wolf Sarah and I will never harm you. Sarah you are my fated mate," he stated. Daniel slowly got up to put his clothes back on, while I sat there deep in thought, trying to process everything I had just been told. One thing I am certain of now is that Daniel being a werewolf is real. But what does that really mean? Why did Daniel choose me? What is it about me that made him care enough to want to be with me? My mind is flooded with questions, all of which demand answers as I sit here contemplating the astonishing revelation. Why me, Daniel? With you being a werewolf, what relevance does that have to my life? I asked softly, trying to keep my voice steady despite my confusion and apprehension. Daniel approached me cautiously, taking deliberate steps to avoid frightening me further, his eyes gentle yet intense. "I'm not just any wolf, Sarah," he said calmly. "I'm the Alpha, and you are my fated mate. That means we're destined to be together, bound by a connection that surpasses ordinary understanding." "What is an Alpha?" I asked. Daniel finally closed the distance between us and sat down in front of me. "An Alpha is the leader of a group of werewolves. The Alpha's role is to protect, guide, lead the pack and so much more. When it comes down to love. every wolf has a soulmate, someone destined to be theirs. You recognize your fated mate by the electric touch whenever your skin makes contact—the sparks that seem to ignite every time you're near. It's a deep longing to be together that never fades, a connection so strong that you can feel each other's emotions beyond words," he explained to me, his voice steady and filled with authority. What does that mean for you and me, with you being the Alpha? I asked softly. "You will be my Luna," he replied confidently. "It's comparable to a King and Queen ruling over their subjects. As Alpha and Luna, we are royalty. But above all, we wholeheartedly care for our people, our pack." This is a lot to process. I find myself unsure of how to feel or what to think about all this new information. We sat in a contemplative silence for a moment, neither of us speaking, as the weight of the conversation settled between us. After a brief pause, Daniel broke the silence, his voice steady but tinged with urgency. "There are other crucial things you need to understand. As my fated mate, in order to fully complete our bond, I will need to mark you on your designated marking spot with a bite. Additionally, life as a wolf can be perilous. There are wild wolves out in the forest that pose a deadly threat, willing to kill and destroy anyone who crosses their path. Along with them, hunters seeking to eradicate all supernatural beings are active, making the world even more dangerous for us," he explained, his eyes locking onto mine with a mixture of seriousness and concern. All of this supernatural chaos—mate bonding, being bitten, hunter conflicts, and the wild wolves and vampires—is completely overwhelming. I feel like my heart is about to burst from the sheer panic inside me. I'm just a woman, not a wolf, nor a leader of anything. Why am I the one caught in all this? It’s like I can't breathe, suffocated by the flood of conflicting emotions rushing through me. I’m overwhelmed and struggling to find my footing in this impossible situation. I hadn't realized that Daniel had moved closer to me until I suddenly felt the gentle touch of his hands softly caressing my cheek. The unexpected contact caused me to flinch instinctively. As I turned my gaze to his eyes, I could see the hurt and vulnerability reflected there, which made my heart tighten. Daniel's voice was calm but tinged with emotion as he said, "I understand if this is too much to handle." I took a slow, deliberate breath to steady myself, feeling the weight of the moment pressing down on me. Gathering my courage, I looked away for a moment before softly replying, "I need some time and space to think." Daniel responded with a simple nod, giving me the space I needed, his expression full of unspoken understanding, patience, and hurt.
