Here is what happened last time on The Werewolf's Superiority
I walk back into the cave to see what is going on. I record what I am doing so that if I die, people will know what I did. Roman is outside looking on a screen while I am live streaming. I start to take the rod out of the first hole of the tomb. The other two rods come out as well, and only the last one has problems with coming out of the hole. While pulling out the final rod, it makes strange clicking noises. I find the place where the spears come out from and show it on the camera. We think that trying to open the lid because it will set off the spears. I try but can not move it at all. Roman comes in to help, and he slips. His legs fall in, and the spears puncher his leg, and there is blood everywhere. Once the medics have him removed from the scene, I go back in. I see something moving in the tomb and fall in myself.
I try to explain to Dr. Addison that she needs to look at the camera footage. She will then see that something moved inside of the tomb. She takes my flashlight, looks inside the tomb. She looks at me and says;
"Only dust and bones, Dr. Andrews. Nothing moving in here, sorry."
I point to my neck and say;
"What? That can't be. How does the wound look?"
She bends down, starts inspecting my neck. She asks me;
"What wound? There is no wound on your neck."
"Here. It is right here. I pulled a bone out from my neck after I fell into the tomb."
She looks again and says;
"Dr. Andrews. I am not sure what you are talking about as I can not see anything. You have no visible injuries. I think the medic needs to check you out for a concussion."
"What? No, for f**k sake. I am telling you the truth. I saw something moving inside the tomb. That is why I went closer to see what it was. I slipped on the blood and fell into the tomb. A bone was sticking out of my neck, so I pulled it out and got out of the tomb. After that, I fell and hit my head."
She looks up at the people standing around and then back to me. She shakes her head and says to me;
"If that is what you saw, then I believe you. But, can we get a medic to check you out to make sure that you are okay from the fall?"
"I am okay. I do not need a medic to check me out."
"Dr. Andrews. You passed out from hitting your head, and that tells me that it was severe. You are seeing a medic, and that is final."
"Fine. But I am coming back to check this place out."
"Okay. No one will stop you, I promise. But you will see the medic first, okay?"
"Okay."
Everyone help me up, and they lead me outside. As we get to the outside of the cave, the fresh air intoxicates my senses. It smells like when the first rains have fallen in spring. I stop and say;
"Wow. Do you smell that?"
Dr. Addison smells the air and asks;
"Smell what?"
"The pure fresh air. Wow, it is like nothing that I have ever smelled before."
She smiles awkwardly at me and says;
"We really need to get you to the doctor."
"I am not amused by your comments, Dr. Addison."
"No, I am not trying to be funny. You are starting to scare me."
I look at my arm and say to her;
"You can let my arm go now. I can stand up straight by myself. I am okay."
She let my arm go. I shake my head a few times as I feel stronger, relaxed, and much more focused. I smile while telling her;
"I will walk to the medic myself. That you for the help, Dr. Addison. You have a lot of work to do, and so do I."
She asks me confused;
"But you just fell. You need to get to a medic to make sure that you are okay."
I feel like she is treating me like a baby, and I am slowly getting annoyed at her. I push my chest out and cross my arms as I say;
"I just told you, I will walk the rest of the way. Thank you for caring, Dr. Addison. I will take it from here."
She slowly backs off, throwing her arms in the air as she says;
"Okay."
I turn and start walking down the hill to the main house. I peek around my shoulder to see if she is still standing there. She sees me looking back at her and waves to me. I shake my head and continue walking. As I come around the bend, I smell the food. I walk quickly to get back to the main house as all of a sudden I am starving. I walk straight to the kitchen, open the oven, and cut a piece of the meatloaf off. While I eat it, I grab a piece of bread on the counter and eat that as well. The chef walks in and gets startled. He asks;
"Dr. Andrews. What are you doing here?"
"I smelled the food. I just had to get a piece to eat."
He smiles at me while looking at the meat in my hands and asks;
"How is it going on the mountain?"
"Good. We are making progress."
He gives me half a smile and asks;
"Would you like some more? Because the meatloaf is actually for tonight. But you can have some now?"
"Yes, please. And thank you. I am starving."
"Sure thing."
The chef walks closer and starts to dish up a plate for me. He walks over and hands it to me while saying;
"Here you go, enjoy."
"Thank you."
I sit at the table and start eating. I tell the chef;
"It tastes so good."
The chef tastes a piece and says;
"Stil not completely ready to eat, but okay. I am glad that you like it...raw."
Once I am finished eating, I put my plate in the sink and tell the chef;
"Fantastic, really. Well done."
He looks at me surprised and tells me;
"I am glad that you liked it, Dr. Andrews."
"Oh please, call me Michael."
"Sure thing, Michael."
I walk back up the hill. Dr. Addison sees me coming up. She drops everything and walks towards me. She gets closer to me and asks;
"What did the medics say?"
That is when I realized that I forgot to get myself checked out. I was so hungry, seeing the medics were not on my thoughts at all. "I am okay, no worries."
She smiles awkwardly and says;
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, why?"
"Okay."
"So, what did I miss, Dr. Addison?"
"Nothing. No one went into the cave, and I am still working on the DNA of the bones we found."
"Okay. Do you want to start in the tomb now? Do you have a table ready where we can unpack the bones onto?"
"I can quickly make space for them, yes."
"Let me help you, and then we can get started."
I walk with her to her station. As the wind blows, I smell the air again and say;
"No wonder you are a bit cranky today."
She stops and looks at me. Confused at my question, she asks;
"Cranky? What do you mean?"
"It is that time of the month."
She turns to walk away, gives me a one-sided shoulder shrug while the tone in her voice has changed, to a hint of sarcasm, and tells me;
"You do not know me well enough to make such an assumption."
She turns and starts walking to her station. She stops behind the tables, puts her hands flat on the table while looking up at me, and says;
"Okay. I will bite. Out with it. How do you know?"
"I smelled it in the air." Totally shocked as I can not believe what I just said to her. How the f**k did I know anyway? What is going on with me?
I can see her demeanor changes as a look of disgust suddenly appears on her face as she asks me;
"Smelled it? Really? Is that what you are going with? When did you see my tampons falling out of my bag?"
I try to downplay what I just said to her and say;
"I was making a joke. It was a lame joke, and I apologize for my behavior."
With her eyes squinting, she says;
"You are correct. The joke was lame. Please try and keep our relationship professional, shall we?"
"Okay. I am sorry again."
She nods as she has accepted my apology and starts clearing the table to make space. Once we have made sufficient space on the table, I tell Dr. Addison;
"Okay. Let's go in and get the bones that you can start inspecting them."
She says;
"You lead the way."
I walk in first and do not even switch on my flashlight as my eyes can see where I am walking. Dr. Addison asks me;
"How is it that you can see in the dark without a flashlight?"
I laugh awkwardly and say;
"I did not even notice." She is right. I can clearly see where I am walking in the dark, and that is so weird.
I take out my flashlight to humor her, switch it on, and walk to the tomb. I ask her;
"How do you want to do this?"
She hands me gloves and says;
"Here you go, put these on before handling the bones."
I laugh at her silliness and say;
"You are aware that I fell into the tomb, and I most probably handled every bone in this thing?"
She answers sarcastically;
"Fine. Handling the bones more than before. Are you happy now?"
I chuckle while putting on the gloves. Dr. Addison asks me;
"Are you sure you are okay?"
"Yes. Why?"
"No, I am just asking. That is all."
I walk down the steps and look into the tomb. I can not see clearly in the front as it is totally dark. I grab hold of the lid and push it out of the way. Dr. Addison walks backward and asks;
"What was that?"
I look around the room and ask;
"What was what? I did not see anything."
"You! You pushed the lid of the tomb, and before, you needed help to do it. You smell the supposed fresh air and my period for some odd reason. You are acting weird all of a sudden, and I can not explain it."
It is like I can smell her fear. I step backward to not intimidate her, and try again to downplay everything;
"The reason why I needed help was I was lying on the floor, and I couldn't get a good grip on the rod to push strong enough to open the lid. That is why Roman came to assist me. Now that I am standing upright, it is much easier to move the thing. The period thing was a bad joke, okay. Nothing more to it than that."
With eyes narrowed and staring at me, she says;
"Fine. But if you freak me out just a little more, I am out of here. Okay?"
"Fine, Dr. Addison. I will keep myself in check."
"Thank you."
I lean into the tomb and start taking out the bones and handing them to Dr. Addison. Once she has collected a few bones, she walks outside to put them on the table. She stops and looks at me while I am gathering the bones for her. I walk up and down the entire time until the tomb is empty. I put the last of the bones on the table and says;
"Nothing more left in the tomb."
She gives me a friendly smile and says;
"Thank you. I've got it from here."
I hear the medic calls me over the radio and says;
"Dr. Andrews. We are going to have to airlift Roman out of here. The doctors can not stop the bleeding."
"Okay. What do you need from me?"
"Nothing, just notifying you."
The sent in the air captures my attention. I tell the medics;
"You need to get that chopper in the air as soon as you can."
"Why, Dr. Andrews? The doctors are still trying to stop the bleeding?"
"I smell the rain coming. It was the same smell we got on the day that we arrived. You have about an hour before you can not fly out of here."
"But Dr. Andrews, there is no weather predicted for today?"
"I am telling you. You need to get that chopper in the air as soon as you can. Do not waste time. Roman's life might depend on it."
"Rodger, Dr. Andrews. I will get the chopper in the air."
Feeling very proud of myself, I turn and look at Dr. Addison. She is just standing there looking at me in amazement. She asks;
"And how do you explain that one away?"
"You are telling me that you can not smell that in the air?"
"No, Dr. Andrews. I can not. I am not a drug-sniffing dog."
"Neither am I. But that smell I can not forget."
Dr. Addison shakes her head and looks down at the bones before her. One of them catches her eye. She pulls it from under the pile and sees blood on the sharp edge of the bone. Her eyes shoot up as she remembers that I said one of the bones stuck me in my throat. She puts her hand over her mouth, not knowing what to believe. She quickly gets her cases out and starts packing away all her equipment. I ask her;
"Can I help?"
Uncertain if I should help or not, she says;
"I am not sure."
"Trust me. The weather is coming. We need to get this stuff packed up or everything will be blown away."
"Fine. You can help. You start packing away the rest of the equipment. I will begin with the bones and preserve them in bags for so long."
"Okay."
I pack away as much as possible. I tell Dr. Addison;
"You have a lot of equipment. You have to show me what all of these do."
She takes the bone in her hand that she suspects has my blood on it. She says;
"Okay. I will show you at the main house how everything works. Especially the DNA sampler."
"Sounds wonderful. I am looking forward to it."
Once I am done packing the equipment away. I ask Dr. Addison;
"What do I do with it now?"
"You can take it down the hill for me."
"Okay."
