Doctor Robinson: Okay let's see if we can see this little bundle and hear a heartbeat. Oh look! There is the little bundle and listen you hear that. That is your babies heartbeat.
When I first heard that sound I looked at Luke, and he looked at me. That was the sound of my babies heart. On the screen there was a little peanut shaped that was my baby. That is when I knew that I could not think about Brett anymore. Brett is no one to me or my baby.
Doctor Robinson: Okay looking at the screen your right on track for a due date of March 22 of next year. Now lets get you cleaned up.
She printed out some pictures and handed them to Luke. Then she helped me clean up, and yes that might be weird but I was still in aww of hearing and seeing my baby. Luke must have been too because he kept looking at the pictures.
Doctor Robinson: So do you have any questions for me?
Luke: I do have a few doc. what can AnnaBeth do? Like at the ranch? What should she not do?
Doctor Robinson: Well I would recommend she not lift anything heavy like under 30 pounds. She can still do as much as she likes. I would also watch riding horses. There are some food I would recommend that she doesn't eat. I am going to give her some prenatal vitimines to help her and the baby.
Luke: Okay doc.
Doctor Robinson: Anything else?
Me: Can I do a self defense class?
Doctor Robinson: Well..You can...Dance class would also be good. Anything else?
Luke: No
Me: No
Doctor Robinson: Okay then. You can check out with Missy. She will give you your next appointment. Before I forget! Congraulations! Here is a free little goodie bag, It has a bunch of stuff in it like samples, coupons and infromation.
Luke and Me: Thank you.
She left the room so I could get dressed and Luke stepped outside. I got dressed and opened the door. Luke grabbed my hand to hold it as we walked to the check-out area.
Missy: Well congratulations! I have your next appointment scheduled for Sepy. 10th is that okay with you all?
Luke: Yes that is fine with us.
Missy: Alright you all are free to go. I will call you with a time the week before.
We both walked out and then it finally hit me. I would be raising this baby by myself all thinks to Brett. At first I started to feel sad and I guess you could tell it on my face. Luke looked over at me and said "hey it will be okay." But I wasn't to sure if I was ready to do parenthood on my own. "Hey...listen I know this is scary and you probably don't know how your going to do this. But I will be there for you and Jasmine will be there for you. ," he said.
I didn't know what to say so I didn't say anything back. I just closed my eyes and let the tears come down. Luke came over and hugged me and just held me and told me it will be okay. "Let's get home so you can rest.," he said. We walked over to the truck and he opened the door for me. I got in and buckled up and laid my head on the window. Luke got in and buckled up and started going back to the ranch. I closed my eyes becuase I was just over the day.
"Hey before we go back to the ranch there is a place I need to go to. I think it would help you too.," he said. All I could do was shake my head yes. I still had my eyes closed when I felt the truck come to a stop. When I opened my eyes we was at a church. I haven't been to church in awhile. I was a little nervous when Luke came and opened my door. I unbuckled and got out and we walked to the church and went in.
"Just talk and let it all out. Give everything to the Lord.," he told me. I walked to the first pew and set down. I really didn't know what to say. I closed my eyes and began to talk just letting everything out. God if you are listening please give me the strength to let Brett go. Give me the strength to move on and find someone. I forgive him for everything he has done. Give me love to love someone else. Put someone on my path that will love me and my baby as their own. I'm sorry for everything I have done. I really hope you will help me and that you are listening to me. Amen
I opened my eyes and started to get up and Luke held my hand. We walked back to the truck and he opened my door. I got in and buckled up. I will never stop getting use to him doing that for me. "Let's go to the pharmacy to get your medicine. Then we will head to the ranch.," he said. "Sure that is fine.," I said. We pulled out of the church parking lot and headed to the pharmacy. We got to the pharmacy and picked up my medicine and then my stomache started growling. *blushes* "Sorry, I am just hungry." I said. "Hey, don't be sorry. Let's go to the diner and get something to eat.," he said. "No, if its okay, I would rather go home and fix something.," I said. "Sure, that is fine. *laughs* I could go for some more of your cooking.," he said
So we headed back to the house. You know I could get use to cooking for him. He loves my food and that is something Brett never liked. Luke is so handsome too and he does the sweetest things like opening my door. We finally make it back to the house and like before he opens my door. This time I give him a little kiss on the cheek and tell him thank you. I walk in the door and start to head to the kitchen when.
