Anna had laid it out as best as she could. She had given Tom the book so she would have a bargaining chip. There were eight missing pages and Cerberus had those eight pages. But without the book itself, Cerberus could not fulfil the next part of the Leopard’s plan.
Failure would mean death. It would mean death to Cerberus and death to anyone who stood in the way of the book’s return. Anna thought the book might contain a code, but she didn’t know for sure. Whatever it was, it had already cost the lives of at least a hundred men.
