Liam and Lukas both sat on the table.
Annie!" Lukas greeted "Lukas?" Annie
said without looking at his face, this
made Lukas chuckle as he turned his
gaze on me, but I kept a livid face and
stared back at him. Any one would be
startled by my actions but Lukas kept
his cool.
I felt a strong glare coming from Willbert's
corner and when I turned to look it was
true. Willbert's face was as dark as the
night sky as he glared at me and his
innocent shirt I wore. I gulped softly at
this, as I returned my gaze back to my
food.
"It's nice to finally meet you sister in-law
!" Lukas said, since I never
acknowledged his presence. It's not my
fault my naughty husband could not do
a normal introduction. 'But for the few
minutes he's been here, he doesn't
seem evil', I thought to myself. But I had
to keep the promisesI made to Annie,
so I said nothing to Lukas and I
continued to eat in silence.
"Rose" are you okay?" I heard Willbert ask
in a cold tone. "I'm not talking to this
guy in front of me!" I said to Willbert in a
serious tone. "And may I ask why?"
Lukas asked this time with a smile.
don't talk to assholes!" I said to him,
and he laughed out loud "I can see a
plot, but don't worry honey you'd come
around. Who knows, you might need
tips on how to own my brothers heart!"
He gave me a sweet smile and started
eating. Why do I need tips for that? I
thought to myself.
"Gius go prepare a room for Lukas on
the second floor!" Willbert ordered the
butler standing at a corner. "Yes master!
"Gius bowed and left the dinning room.
"Did you receive the wedding invitation
from Elena and Carlos!" Lukas said to
Willbert's "Yes I think I did but not sure if l'd
go to the party!" will said with a
nonchalant expression on his face.
Don't you feel weird?" Lukas asked him
with a serious expression.
"No she can do whatever she wants
don't care anymore!" Willbert said with a
hint of anger but was still eating his
food. "Who's Elena ?" I asked Annie in
a whisper. It was obvious they were
talking about her. "She's Willbert ex?"
Annie said briefly, I could tell she was
not in a mood for conversations. "Oh.!"
I said and continued eating. I don't
know why but I felt sad hearing about
this, even if these Elena was getting
married it still felt like Willbert was still in
love with her. I thought to myself as I
tried to wave the thought of my head.
Focus Rose' I said to myself. "Don't you
think it's wrong talking about Willbert's ex
in the presence of his wife?" Annie
looked at Lukas and he smiled at her. I
was shocked by her sudden question "
Annie I'm fine!" I gave a reassuring smile
"Stop lying to yourself Rose no woman
likes when her husbands ex is being
talked about in her presence!" She said
to me and walked away.
Why was she making a big deal out of
nothing, Argh.. Annie was totally going
to kill me in this house. I'm fully aware,
this is a contract marriage and it was
stated that Willbert could do whatever he
wanted. No questions asked, but I on
the other hand would remain faithful to
him till he decides to get a divorce.
I sighed in resignation, it was so
obvious she was looking for the
slightest chance to attack Lukas.
Willbert said nothing about what was
happening, as he continued eating as if
no one talked. "Excuse me!" I said as I
walked out of the dinning room, to
Annie's room.
"Why'd you react that way it was not a
big deal really!" I sat on her bed. "Of
course it's not a big deal to someone
who knows nothing about what's going
on, have you ever asked your husband
why he married you?" Annie asked in an
angry tone.
"what are you talking about?, how am I
supposed to knoW that? it's a contract
marriage after all!" I said to her. "Listen
Rose it would be better if Willbert tells you
the truth not me, I need to sleep now!"Annie went under her duvet. I rolled my
eyes at her words asI walked out of her
room.
I hate it when people give me half gist,
it makes me so curious and sooner, my
curiosity becomes desperation. 'But
thinking of what Annie said, if Willbert's still
in love with his ex, why did he get
married to me? I walked back into the
room lost in my thoughts. *Sigh*i let
out a deep sigh as I walked into the
closet. I pulled my clothes tied my
towel and walked into the bathroom for
a quick shower.
I strode to the bed slogishly after my
shower wearing a comfortable black
pijmas which was three times my size.
I laid on the big soft bed tiredly with my
back looking at the beautiful designs
on the ceiling. The door clicked and
someone walked in "Rose!" He called
and I said nothing. "Rose!" He called
again.
"What do you want Willbert?" I said calmly
to her him chuckle. "How much more
stubborn can you be, hmm? Come here
I need to talk to you!" He said sitting on
the sofa. I sat up and looked at him
lazily. "Talk I'm listening!" I said
nonchalantly. He glared at me for some
time, and finally his lips parted "Why did
you touch my clothes!" He asked.I
knew he was going to ask that was the
reason for the strong glare earlier.
"Cause they make me feel more comfy
than mine!" I said to see him let out a
frustrated sigh. "I'm so done with you,
you're a thorn in the flesh!" He said and I
only rolled my eyes at his words.
Looking at him an idea popped into my
head and all of a sudden my energy
was revived as my lips curled into a
smile. "Willbert's!" I called sweetly. "Willbert!" I
called again jumping off the bed to sit
with him on the sofa. "'Willbert you Know I
don't hate you right?, infact I love you so
much as my husband!" I said to have
him roll his eyes. "What do you want
Rose?" He asked.
"Where did you keep my mum and aunt,
where can I find them?" I asked,
hopefully this time he'd tell me. "Atlanta!" Was his short reply. This was
not funny anymore. I've searched the
entire city of Atlanta but still could
not find them so what was he talking
about.
"Where exactly in Atlanta did you
keep them!" I asked curiously "A place
they teach young ladies how to bea
better wife, listen and respect their
husbands. Listen Rose, the only key to
finding your mum is pleasing me for a
week. That means you would not talk
back at me, challenge my words or
make me angry!" He stated
"Maybe after your little test, I might
make you see her again!" He said
sternly. "That's so ridiculous, how I'm
suppose to keep up with your
unmannerly attitude? You want me to
stay a week pleasing you when you
can't last a minute without displeasing
me!" I said sternly.
"Are you challenging me Rose?" I heard
his deep cold voice. "I'm only stating
facts which are true. You bully me
physically, emotionally and mentally!" |
said. "Bully you?" I here him ask calmly.
