Episode.1
Helena POV I was thrown to the floor, my knees scrapping the floor. Whimpered and tried to get up, but my hands tied to my back were not helping. I felt hands grabbing each of my arms and raising me up to my knees. Everywhere was dark for me. I could only hear footsteps and the discussions from the people around me. “Let me go! Let me go!” I heard someone scream. Her legs were trailing behind her, her high-pitched screams were almost deafening. “Let go of me you bastards! You think you can get away from this? Once I get out of here, I'll find you all and make sure you all rot in hell!” Her voice was all too familiar. I could guess who she is, but why was she here as well? I was kidnapped more than two months ago. I was getting back home from college, excited to give my husband the good news. Then i noticed the driver was someone else. He said he was hired that day to replace my driver. I should have called to confirm, but I'm used to David making decisions without letting me in on it or informing me, so I took his word for it. Silly me. That's how I ended up in a mysterious warehouse. Somehow, I passed out during the car ride and when I woke up, I was tied to a chair, gagged and blindfolded. I begged them to let me go, but obviously, they didn't. David, my husband, was called in front of me. I was given the phone to talk to him as proof that I'm still alive. I begged David to save me, and he said he'd find another way. He needs all his money now for a big project and can't waste it. I was heartbroken, in utter disbelief. Waste? I knew he didn't think much of me, but I never thought using his money could be a waste on me. I tried to push back those feelings and be hopeful, especially as days went by, waiting for his other way, but it's been more than two months now, still in the kidnapper's captivity. I tried praying, hoping and wishing that the doors would suddenly burst open and David would sweep me in his arms and take me away. That day, unfortunately, never came. I was mistreated and beaten occasionally, I was given proper meals and I ate once or twice a day. I was tired but scared at the same time. Not for me, but for the living thing inside me. I wanted nothing to happen to it. If something does, I'm not sure what I'd do. The men who kidnapped informed me that David had refused to pay the ransom no matter how many times they warned him and I will die. They also said that he never once went to the police station to report my disappearance. What was he planning? I wondered every day until I was suddenly dragged somewhere. I was gagged and blindfolded, so I couldn't say or see anything, but I could hear. The men who dragged me there, Mark and Sanchez — I was able to know their names after listening to their many conservations — engaged in another boring conversation. At first, I wasn't interested in listening until he mentioned my name. “Finally, we'll be able to toss this b***h away. Her stingy husband will finally pay the ransom money.” A voice who I identified as Sanchez, said. My heart leaped with joy and hope, I was finally going to leave this place. “Moron, that's not what the boss said.” Mark corrected Sanchez, which made me halt my early celebration. Just then, a woman came in along with other footsteps, she was screaming and threatening everyone. I had a hunch who she was, and I couldn't be sure, since she shouldn't be there, but my uncertainty was cleared immediately. “This b***h's husband has a f*****g lover who he likes more and that's her.” I guessed he was referring to the woman who was just dragged in, which helped me confirm her identity. She was Rose. “The boss found this out and kidnapped her as well. Her husband, Mr David Hamilton, will pay the ransom and can pick whichever he wants to take home.” Mark concluded his explanation. “Damn! This woman is toast. He only agreed to pay ransom after his lover was kidnapped?” Sanchez inquired. He had an amused tone in his voice. “I think we all know who's going to end up in his bed tonight,” Mark remarked, and the two roared in laughter. It's a good thing a rag was blocking my voice as I cried. This can't be true. I refuse to believe he'll leave me here like this. I wasn't just anybody, I am his wife and he definitely won't leave me behind. He probably arranged money for both of us. He saw that things were getting out of hand, so he decided to just pay and get us both. I had to believe that it was the only option I got. Rose was still screaming and threatening everyone. I heard a smack, a hand connected with skin and silence befallen upon the room. Minutes later, I heard footsteps of men entering the room. After sometime, my blindfold was lifted. It took me a minute for me to adjust to the lighting of the room, but once I did, I saw David. He was just a few feet away from the door, a briefcase in his right hand, and an expressionless face as always. He looked handsome as ever with his chiseled features and piercing blue eyes. I tried to call out to him, but my voice was muffled. His expressionless eyes left me and turned to Rose, who's blindfold was just lifted off her. His eyes softened, and an emotion appeared on his face. My heart clenched, beads of sweat formed as dread laced my heart. He threw the briefcase to the man standing a few feet away from him. He took his eyes back to me, but they were no longer expressionless, they were filled with rage and anger. What concerned me was that it appeared to be directed at me. “No need to waste my time counting. You can trust I won't play with the life of someone dear to me.” David said to the man, but was still looking coldly at me. “But I need to, to know if you paid for both of them.” A relaxed smile appeared on his face as he signaled someone to take the briefcase. “I paid for one,” David clarified. “Oh?” The man burst into laughter, “So which one did you pay for?” My heart pounded in my chest as he looked from me to the man, then back at me, he smirked before turning to Rose and pointing at her, “Her.” I watched in horror as Rose was released. She ran into David's widely spread arms and cried. I was forced to watch in horror, not able to do anything. My screams were for nothing. David left with Rose, his suit covering her exposed arms. Is this really how you're going to treat me, David? Is this really how you'll end things with me? I stared wide-eyed at his back as he walked away with Rose now in his arms. Tears welled up in my eyes, and they burned as they rolled down my cheeks, leaving me in utter despair. “I guess you're going to die today.” Sanchez said out loud and that's when my current situation hit me. David abandoning me here doesn't just mean the end of our relationship, but that I'll die! No way! I'm not going to die here, not like this. I'm going to struggle with all I have, with all the strength I have left. I'll survive, and I'll make David regret what he just did to me, that bastard! He no longer wanted to hide his affair, so he's using this opportunity to eliminate me. He wants me dead. I should have gotten a divorce a long time ago. Maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't have found myself in this mess. I should have avoided his handsome face. I shouldn't have accepted the arranged marriage and foolishly thought I was going to be able to make him love me when I knew damn well he didn't care about me. I was a fool, but if I survive this, I promise to pay him back.
