Chapter 5 Memories II

Halo City Mexico Top class 5 companies.

Two years ago flashback

The employees paced back and forth round the luxurious building, files in their hands, some working, others gossiping.

“I'd focus on my work if I were you Mrs Dawson” Miss Loretta stated making Mrs Dawson roll her eyes.

“Focus on yours Loretta” Mrs Dawson snapped earning whispers.

Chloe strolled in nonchalantly, her active eyes focused towards her desk before sitting without greeting anyone.

“Now you feel really big, walking in like that without greeting anyone” a comment flashed across the air but Chloe ignored it.

“Perhaps she's the new CEO” another comment landed but she paid no attention to any of them. They talked more, eventually forgetting about her.

Her attention fixed on her work as the main entrance door opened, a slender figure of a lady strolled in like she owned the place.

It was Ariadne Carlos. A full time model and a singer….a super star. Her presence alone commanded respect like she owned the air everyone breathed.

She was regular here because of one thing…the CEO.

Her expensive shoes clicked against the luxurious floor matching her glory as she strolled towards Chloe's desk.

“Good morning miss Ariadne Carlos”everyone greeted in unison because failure to greet meant something no one was ready to accept. All except Chloe.

“Chloe, I believe you aren't blind to see that I'm here” Aria gritted as Chloe didn't spare her a glance, rather she continued with her business. This always happened, Chloe never feared or respected her no matter how she threatened her.

Now it was a tip off the edge. In anger, Aria picked up her computer, throwing it across the floor, shattering it completely.

Chloe stilled as everyone gasped. Her work, she's been on the work for six days, she was concluding it today and she hasn't got a backup plan.

Unexpectedly, a slap landed across Aria's face and everyone gasped in horror.

“How dare you?! Who the hell do you think you are??!!! You're freaking mad and stupid!” Chloe yelled as a commanding presence filled the atmosphere. Everyone stilled including Chloe.

“Xavier…your employees are mocking me. This g..girl, she slapped me” Ariadne cried holding her hurting cheeks.

“You'll marvel at the inside of me, if you don't leave my company right now”Xavier warned sending chills down everyone's spine.

The flash in his eyes told her he wasn't joking, he has never joked, never played, always dead serious. Tears filled her eyes as she exited.

He never fired Chloe….she worked with him, as his PA.

End of Flashback

Xavier’s hands gripped Chloe’s picture and her files. She's been missing for over a year now and it hurts that he couldn't do anything about it. The public believe he's the monster, the evil billionaire who kills without mercy, he's behind Chloe's disappearance and everyone else's as well.

He does kill, but only those who messes with him…but what would that prove? If everyone says he's a monster, he's really a monster. He lay on his bed, his handsome face in deep sadness and regret.

“Big brother Xavier…help me” somewhere deep in the darkness, she's trying to resurface, her voice is coming back to hunt him as usual.

“Heaven please….” He begged as her voice grew louder. The instance of her last day flashed across his eyes.

Flashback…. twelve years ago City X, Korea

The huge luxurious villa went up in flames, Xavier's eyes watered as he returned from school in silence. He heard them, his parents screaming for help, Heaven's tears in the fire.

He ran with all his might to get help, there was no one, no one could help, he was all alone.

“Mum…dad Heaven!!” He cried holding on to the mansion's windows and doors, looking for an escape route.

His hands gripped the window bars, then he heard it, his parents and little sister choking from the smoke.

“Heaven!!!” He yelled hitting the bars with the millstone he found at the back during his training. He hit with all his might until a bar broke.

“Xavier save your sister!” His father's voice rang out as he carried Heaven towards the little space barely fit enough for her to go through….the fire spread massively engulfing everything in a go.

“Big brother Xavier….. please save me” Heaven cried stretching out her little arms towards him. She finally fell into his arms as he held on to her crying without pausing.

“Get out of here kids go!!!” Their father cried, they weren't hearing their mother's voice anymore, the fire had silenced her. They cried as they ran but were cornered by several cars. A gunshot fired a bullet across his back. His vision blurred as a sticky fluid soaked his back while Heaven screamed.

“Big brother!!!!” Her cries filled the air as they took her away from him.

He was tied, placed in a dark Audi and Heaven was tied too.

It would have been better they left her alone or probably carried her off but what they did to her forever stuck to his memories.

After tying her, they placed her in the middle of the driveways as they accelerated the engines forward.

“No no no!! Stop it please stop! Please don't kill her please!” Xavier begged with everything he got as he bled slowly as the cars crushed her without looking back. Her breath stopped as she lay there in a pool of her blood without anyone to help her.

Xavier felt his heart die…He watched her struggle to live, he watched her squirm helplessly in the middle of her blood, he fought, screamed and struggled, but they killed her, just like they killed his parents.

End of Flashback

Xavier's head drowned in sorrow as her brutal death came to play in his head. He lived his days, killing all those who had something to do with the death of his family, in the most agonizing and painful way….all except one.

Badmus Richards.

And he will. His parents, died in a fire and his sister in an accident, yet the whole world blamed him. Everyone had a different theory of how he killed his family, Badmus made sure of that.

Every bad deed done, he always takes the blame no matter what, and he never lifted a finger to defend his name. To him, there wasn't a point. What mattered to him was his revenge.

Once he's through, he'd kill himself last, for letting his family die in the hands of their enemies.

“I'm sorry dad, I couldn't save her like you said” he cried as he let the trauma take him.
