Chapter 4 Beautiful

City X, Korea 8pm

Badmus Richards paced back and forth in his office as his hands gripped a picture in his hands. In it was little Xavier, his handsomeness radiating with temptation, so revealing.

“So you still f*****g haven't found him!!!! Twelve years Rajah! Twelve f*****g years!!” He yelled at the captain of his men. Frustrating evident in his voice as his grip round the picture tightened.

“You all are incompetent!!!!” He added punching Rajah hard on his jaws making him grunt in pain.

“Get out!” He screamed as they all left in haste away from his anger.

It's been twelve years since Xavier escaped from him and till now, he still haven't found him.

The problem was who helped him escape and why??

Halo City Mexico Red Street

A week later….

Audrey stood in front of the mirror, her eyes nervous as she studied herself. She wore a white dress with long sleeves, black pants, white shoes, her hair was packed into a bun enhancing the curve of her beautiful face.

“Hey girl, I'm ready” Layla smiled as she strolled closer. They both applied for the same position at James Lollies Recipes, and they were both accepted.

It was a miracle actually since she was a week late for the interview. Maybe James Lollies Recipes is really considerate and she was grateful for that. She'd faint if she didn't get the job.

Audrey mirrored her smile maintaining her gaze on her reflection, yet her mind wasn't there.

She was feeling nervous as hell. What if it turns out worse than the last time?

“Hey girl, you don't have to be scared, we're together this time. You'll be by my side, and I'll be by your side too” Layla said trying to ease Audrey's tension. A sigh left her lips as she turned to Layla.

“Yeah, yeah let's do it”

They both walked towards the exit as her father handed them lunch.

“My brave little girl. It'll all be fine this time you'll see” her father stated reassuringly as she replied with a nod as they both left.

Time skip….7:45am

“We made it Audy” Layla said as they both stopped to catch their breaths giggling before walking in.

The entrance was a beautiful restaurant, with homely lights and decor. It was a restaurant and a bakery at the same time.

“It's so…….” Audrey trailed off, this was her dream place.

“Magical? Beautiful?” Layla asked as she fed her eyes with the beauty of the place.

“I'd say spectacular” she replied and they both giggled. A door opened and a short lady seemingly in her forties emerged without a smile.

“You must be Audrey Hearts and Layla Lorenzo” she asked with a hint of calmness. The girls stared at each other before staring back at her as they both mouthed a ‘yes madam’.

“Well then…. you're late!!!!” She scolded coldly making them flinch.

“Ma’am I…we..” Layla tried speaking but the madam cut her off.

“I am madam Louisa, supervisor in charge. You resume work by 7 every morning. No more and no less. Understand?!” She asked coldly as they both nodded.

“Words!”

“Um…yes ma'am”

“Yes madam”

They both replied feeling out of place.

“Good! Wait here, someone will get your uniforms hmph!” She huffed before leaving.

“Gosh she's grumpy” Audrey breathed and they both chuckled.

“I think she just have issues” Layla pointed earning a light push from Audrey.

“Layla hahaha” Audrey laughed and they both they giggled. The sound of footsteps halted them mid way. They both turned towards the sound.

They paused when they saw who the steps belonged to. It was a young man of twenty, brown hair, light skinned, light green eyes in turquoise shades, well defined brows, plump and pale lips, long pointed nose, chiseled jaws, tall frame, broad shouldered, and freaking handsome.

Layla gulped as her heart increased it's pace.

They both stared unable to speak earning a chuckle from him.

“Hello ladies, I'm Alvin, your colleague and I brought your uniforms. Welcome to James Lollies Recipes” he voiced making Layla drool.

His voice took her off guard as she felt goosebumps on her skin.

‘hi Alvin, I'm Audrey Hearts and this is my friend, Layla Lorenzo” Audrey replied as Layla was yet to come off her haze.

“Nice meeting you Audrey. It's an honor Layla” he stated as Layla felt her legs wobbling.

“Oh my gosh….help me” Layla screamed running into the nearest restroom.

“Layla??” Audrey called running after her.

Alvin smirked. It's always reactions from everyone…. even men. Layla was copper skinned, black eyes, black hair, slender and mostly beautiful. She had every qualifications to be a stunning model, brilliant eyes and her entire being was all about the summer days.

Though, Audrey was more beautiful in every way, Layla’s beauty was quiet and warm…attractive in a calm way.

“Layla..” Audrey called as she walked into the restroom with Layla.

“Audrey…I'm sorry I embarrassed you. He was so hot and I….” She trailed off as Audrey's laughter rang across the washroom.

“So he's your crush now huh?” She asked and Layla’s cheeks turned damn red.

“Audrey stop. No he's not. He's just handsome, I couldn't hide it. It's normal right?”

“Is it? I don't know Lay but you were quite smitten by this one…” Audrey laughed heartily alongside Layla.

“ It's not happening anymore. I'm used to him now”Layla revealed making Audrey smirk.

“Sure yes yes. We should try our uniforms on…” Audrey reminded as they both giggled stiffling their sounds so no one would hear….as they both returned.

“You're finally back. Put your uniforms on, meet me when you're done so you get to meet the others” Alvin said and Layla tried all she could to keep her body and voice neutral.

“Sure” Audrey replied taking their uniforms from him.

“Welcome once again” He said with a small smile before leaving them to change. Audrey turned towards Layla, giving her a knowing smile.

“Stop it stop it” Layla protested hiding her blushing face and Audrey laughed.

Few minutes later, they were done and they approached Alvin. His eyes widened as he laid his eyes on them. Beautiful was the only word he could use at the time…honestly he was speechless.

“Let's go” he gestured politely as they moved.
