Chapter 3. Fear

Halo city Mexico, James Lollies Recipes. 7:56 am

Audrey halted at the entrance of James Lollies Recipes, choking on her saliva from running. Sweat poured down her forehead as she felt thirsty. With a sigh, she opened her backpack, bringing out her bottled water but it was taken away the moment she brought it out.

“Hey! That's mine!” She yelled as she watched the stranger gulp down every content in the bottle making her voice cease. What?! Would he even pay for that?!

The stranger's breath slowed down it's pace alongside hers but she needed the water and he just deprived her of it.

He's evil just like Theodore. The echoing sounds of gunshots rented the air causing panic in the streets. Screams tore from everyone's mouths in fear as they all ran for cover.

Audrey felt all air leaving her lungs as the sight of guns, bullets and blood blurred her vision. This isn't happening. She turned to run and three straight bullets flew her way and she felt her vision blurring.

“That's it!” The stranger yelled killing a lot of opponents with a motion swift as air. Audrey wanted to throw up.

It was too much for her.

“Get in!” The stranger's voice rang making her have second thoughts. Wait what?! Get in?!!!! With a stranger who has a gun?!!!!!!!! She didn't have time to think as he shoved her into the waiting Maserati accelerating the engines into motion.

A scream escaped her mouth….where was he taking her?!

The stranger's eyes narrowed as he mouthed the words… “reduce her voice” Her heart nearly stopped at the gravity of his words. Does that mean kill her? Who was he even speaking to?

The thoughts fled to the back of her head as she felt movements from both sides and she noticed….two other men were inside the car with them. Her pulse quickened and she felt like puking all her guts out.

“I'm ….I…I'm quiet I swear” she stuttered covering her lips with both hands. She felt extremely scared.

SHAN

We were attacked again by the Red Talons family. That's the third time this week…it's annoying fighting the same enemy over and over again all because of a stupid contract.

I told master we shouldn't accept the proposal of Reeds Walker's Shares and codes but he wouldn't listen…. something the Red Talons have been working on all their lives. Now who gets to fight all the time? Me!!! f*****g me!

They chased me down from a little chill out…like damn they have great informations. I had to call for back ups, serves me right for stalking the daughter of White codes enterprises.

I was so thirsty and luckily, I met this beautiful girl with a bottle of water and without thinking, I gulped it all…trust me I had my strength back in a go. What got me confused was how she kept her stunning eyes on me like I stole her jewelry.

Gunshots made me realize what I did because now, the aim wasn't about me but about her. They must believe she's my sister or something. Crap I put her in danger. I did what I had to, killing a few off, I pushed her scared figure into the waiting Maserati.

I did so without her permission, I knew she wouldn't agree and there was no time for conversations. But she kept screaming…making annoying noises I felt maybe Robert and Callum should dumbfold her…unfortunately her face went pale.

She probably thought I was going to execute her….so uneducated.

“I'm …..I…I'm.. quiet I swear”she mouthed in fear and I didn't know if I should be relieved or worried. All I know is she's scared.

I quickly took a shot of her, sending it to Nikolai, the tech guy…a few moments later, he sent me a text….her information.

Great! A new girl in Halo city, came for a job and I ruined her first day of work. Cool Shan. You did a very nice thing. Well, she wouldn't loose the job, talking to James is not a big deal actually.

I drove her towards her house and even after the doors opened, she seemed glued….crap she's not going anywhere!!!! Is she scared of outside now?

“Hey, don't think about going anywhere for a week at least, to escape danger okay? And I'm sorry for taking you against your will” I struggled to apologize but her reaction didn't help at all. She just nodded before scurrying away like a shadow.

Well, at least I tried. Callum and Robert hissed, shaking their heads at me and I frowned.

“Hero” Callum clapped alongside Robert. Idiots! She was the hero first. I felt like they should leave my f*****g car!!!!

Anyways, I zoomed off.

AUDREY

The car was so tensed I still had the feeling of throwing up. His driving was worse….he had a death wish.

The car finally stopped at the front of my house which had me completely off guard. What?!!!!! Worse, the doors opened and the silence intensified. What? I should go out, then they kill me from behind.

“Hey, don't think about going anywhere for at least a week to escape danger okay? And I'm sorry for taking you out against your will” the apology came.

Did he say a week? Probably a month…I'm scared as hell! I replied with a nod before coming down in haste.

He made me nervous and scared. He's not just evil, he's dangerous.

I walked inside and what happened made me freeze.

“Audrey!! You're okay” Theodore stated with concern lacing his voice as he pulled me into his embrace. I stiffened. Oh so he does care? Haha

“I'm fine Theo. Why would you think otherwise?” I asked as he scratched the back of his neck.

“The Mafia collision. It's on the news and the location was where you were” he replied, his voice shaking a bit.

A smile graced my lips as I listened to him…

“I'm fine Theo, I'm just tired” I stated as my vision blurred. The fear was finally getting the best of me. I saw Theo's lips moving but I couldn't make out what he was saying before darkness took me.

AUTHOR'S POV

Theo sighed as his heart pace increased as Audrey slowly collapsed, but he quickly caught her before she fell. He had been so worried about her, she's his only sibling and if anything had happened to her, what would happen to him?

He scooped her into his arms carrying her in a bridal style towards her bedroom. He placed her on her bed before placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

“You had me completely worried little sis. You always have.” he voiced before strolling towards the door. Taking a last glance at her, he exited the room. Her brows furrowed as she stirred in her sleep.

“Mother….” The same sound always escaped her mouth anytime she sleeps, always the same dream.
