ORIANE “Who… who are you?” I stuttered, “And why are you coming from my head?” I added slowly. “Relax, Ri, I am Storm, your wolf.” “Storm?” “Yeah,” “Some name,” I scoffed, and another sharp pain shot through my head. I held it tightly, as tears stung my eyes. “Alright, relax, Storm. The message got loud and clear,” I groaned, and the pain subsided. I sighed and straightened my back. “Where have you been all these years, Storm?” “I’ve been waiting,” “Waiting for what exactly?” “You,” she sneered, and I inhaled deeply. Can everyone stop saying that? “It’s the truth, darling.” “You’re invading my thoughts now?” I yelled. “I am you, silly, we are one. “So what next, now storm?” I sat at the foot of a tree. “Now?” she snickered, “You get your ass up, and you go back to our mate, and together, we’ll get our revenge on the bastards that did that to our people.” Her soft tone had now been replaced by a fierce one, fueled by rage. “Are you crazy?’ I muttered lazily, leaning on the tree, “Until a few hours ago, I was a normal student, living a normal life, and now you want to set me on a war path.” “I don’t even know who is behind it all. Hell, I barely even remember the people in question,” I added softly. “We’ll get help,” her tone softened. **** My hands hovered on the doorknob as I got to the room. I knew I couldn’t blame Brianna, but at the same time, a part of me hated her for keeping everything a secret from me. “We need her,” Storm reminded me gently. I nodded and pushed the door open softly. Brianna scrambled up from the couch as soon as she saw me, and engulfed me in a tight hug like she had been expecting me to come back. “I’m sorry, I really am, I was so worried, I thought something had happened to you, I would never have forgiven you,” the words rolled off the tip of her tongue all at once. “I’m fine,” I feigned a smile and pushed her away from me gently. “You had better be,” My eyes followed the strange but oddly familiar voice that spoke until they landed on a pair of eyes, staring directly at me, like he could see through my soul. It was then that I noticed the figure in the corner. It explained Storm’s agitation and restlessness as I stepped into the room. My legs turned to jelly under his intense gaze. Vale. Was this how all females felt when they were with their mate? “Go ahead, gawk all you want, I’m all yours, piccolina,” He spoke again, his voice dreamy, with a tone that commanded authority. I had been so lost in those ocean blue eyes of his, I didn’t realise I was staring so hard. “I’m sorry,” I coughed awkwardly, and lowered my gaze. “Had to see to it that you’re safe, can't have my mate, and future Luna, running around unharmed now, can we? And now that you are out of harm’s way, I’ll take my leave,” he glanced at Brianna and nodded, taking his coat from the couch. He leaned in, and I moved back, “Stay safe, piccolina, we don’t need any more mishaps,” he whispered slowly, the last bit sounding more like a threat. I released the breath I didn’t know I was holding, as he slammed the door shut behind him. I sank into the chair, staring into space, my mind flooded with thoughts of how my entire world came crashing down in a second. “You hungry?” Brianna sat down next to me. I cast her a sideways glance and shook my head. I’m fine,” I stood up and walked into my room. I needed space and time to think. > A soft knock rapped on my door, jerking me from my dreamland, back to reality. I squinted my eyes against the light rays that flooded the room, through the windows, as I tossed aout the bed. “Who’s it?” I muttered sleepily, unwilling to stand up from bed. It felt like any other day, except for the fact that I was not normal. I sat up on the bed immediately,as memories of the previous day flooded my mind. I thought it was a dream, but turns out it wasn’t, I had gone to bed, and Brianna still hadn’t told me it was all a prank, which meant she was as serious as she could be. I sighed, and ran my hand through my already disheveled hair, I was a mess, no kidding. The knock came again but as usual, I ignored it. I just wasn’t in the mood today, I wouldn’t be attending any classes, all I want to do is just lock in, and sleep. The knocks became even more rapid, “Go away Brianna,” I yelled, “I won’t be attending classes today,” I added softly, more to myself than her. “That’s right piccolina, you won’t,” The door creaked open and he stepped in. Vale, My alleged mate. I had grown, or rather we had grown accustomed to his scent, in a space of just a few hours. “What are you doing here? I didn’t say you could come in,” I crossed my arm across my chest, and glared at him, my heart pounding ever so loudly against my chest, I took a step backward, very sure he could hear it, from where he stood. It was so early in the morning, how could someone still look so good, this early. The silence that engulfed us next, was as thick as they came, I could almost taste it on my tongue. “Tch,” he clicked his tongue, “Now that’s no way for a queen to look,” he added slowly, subtly ignoring my question. “Bring them in,” he yelled at whoever it was that was outside. “You haven’t given me an answer to my question,” “That’s because darling, your question doesn't need one.” he shrugged, his gaze fixed on the door as it opened and guards trooped in, each holding a fancy bag. “What’s all these?” My eyes darted from the guards to him, the stranger that had invaded my space, and my heart as well. “Get dressed Piccolina, you’re meeting your inlaws and your future people today,”
