CHAPTER THREE

SOPHIE WILSON I walked into Jack's restaurant with Sarah, my heels making a clicking sound with the ground. I walked with my shoulders high, I wasn't going to let anyone e look down on me, I was The Devil after all. As I entered the restaurant, u looked around trying to find James Parker but my eyes met another person. His face was breathtaking, his eyes were silver, his hair was pitch black. He was so tall but his appearance showed that he was a waiter there and at that moment, I wanted him. Our eyes connected with each other, I was really eye f**king him as I didn't want to break the stare. I felt a nudge at my back and turned to Sarah. She turned her face and I followed her eyes. There, James Parker was sitting patiently with Sam looking at me. Sam was James bodyguard. Though I felt bad that I had to leave my newly found crush, I had a meeting to attend. I looked at him once more before walking away. "Mr Parker" I greeted, coming to his table and extending my hand. "Miss Wilson", he stood up, receiving my hand and smiling politely at Sarah. I almost sneered at his attitude but I knew I had to keep my calm. "Please, have a sit", he sat down with Sam and Sarah and I did same. "Good afternoon, ma, sir. I am Nathaniel, your waiter for today. Please, order what you want and I'll be at your service. Thank you", he politely said and left. "The service here is really good, that's why I chose this place. You should try coming without a reservation, you'll really be glad", he recommended, smiling confidently and I rolled my eyes. "Why did you call for a meeting? You can't just fix a date for a meeting without the approval of the second party", I nagged. "My apologies, beautiful. I'll keep that in mind". "Are you not going to tell me the reason for this meeting?", I snapped. "Straight to business, I see. I heard that spider is dead". "You were the cause of his death, if only you had not forced him to join forces with you, he would probably have been alive", I stated. "He was a very good servant, such a waste of life", he shook his head and I sighed. "Is that why you called me here?". "I want us to join forces just like your dad and I did", he admitted and I bursted into cold laughter. "And what makes you think I would wanna join forces with you?", I asked. "Of course, you would, who wouldn't? You're the Mafia King's daughter, The Devil and I'm the owner of the second largest business in this country. Both of us joining forces together will make us invincible, or don't you think?. "Is my dad aware of this?". "The Mafia King don't have to be aware if whatever we're doing, it's like a business between two tycoons, a third party don't have to be involved in it", he stated and I snorted. "You think this will be favourable to the both of us?", I asked and he nodded his head. "Affirmative". "I'm not interested". "Why? do you know how big this opportunity I'm giving you is? We can.......". "For you or for me?", I asked slightly raising my voice. Sarah noticed my demeanor and held my hand under the table. "I don't understand, what are you trying to insinuate?". "You're a criminal who does things against the law, I'm a mafia who has connections even with people working with the law. You need me for survival, I need you for business. I'll be on the losing side, you won't. Do you think I'm a fool? Joining forces means betraying my organization". "So, you don't wanna do it?". "I don't have to repeat myself twice", I snapped and he twitched his lips, nodding slowly. "Fine. Then, I think this meeting is over, thanks for your time", he stood up, extending his hands and I averted my gaze, ignoring him completely. "I'll take that as my cue to leave. Then, see you later", he said and left with Sam as I kept clenching and unclenching my jaw. "I think that went well. Let's go then", Sarah said, standing up and picking up her bag. "We're not done yet", I announced and she sat down back. "It's rude to come here without ordering for anything", I said turning to the waiter who was already looking at me. "We would like to order". Nathaniel came running to our table with a pen and a notepad. He looked like a good, like he was created. I didn't know a human could be as handsome as he was. "Sophie", Sarah called and I snapped out of it, unconsciously swallowing my saliva. "What would you like to order ma'am", he said with a voice that made a tingling sensation in my belly. "Just a plate of French fries and any drink that comes to your mind", I ordered, mentally face palming myself. I wondered why an ordinary waiter would get my heart racing like it was doing now. "Right at your service", he went away and I sighed in relief. "What's wrong with you, Sophie? You don't seem like your usual self", Sarah asked. "Why? What's different about me?", I snapped and she twitched her lips, sitting up on her chair. Minutes later, he brought our orders and we ate in silence. After eating, I paid for the meal and put a tip in it. "Thanks, but we don't receive tips", he stated, handing the money back to me. "Since when?", his colleague asked and collected the money back from me. "Don't be offended, he isn't in his right senses", he said, smacking Nathaniel at the back of his head and I resisted the urge to attack him for touching my crush. "Anyway, see you next time", I said and hurriedly left there before I did anything stupid. One thing I knew was that I wanted him and no matter what, I was going to have him all to myself.
